JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: I checked the water tap - unscrewed it one way run it, unscrewed the other way run it and it didn't help.
James: Appliance Engineer: The fault code confirms the issue you rereferred to (the washer is not detecting water enter) as you know water is not entering this rules out a sensor fault, and as you know water is getting tot he appliance we can rule out a kinked inlet hose or service valve being turned off, which leaves a faulty inlet valve which has likely seized intermittently.
James: Appliance Engineer: A new inlet valve would be required but requires stripping the appliance down, however I am struggling to source the inlet valve which may mean the part is obsolete but would give Westinghouse a call to see if they can source you the part, their number is 131349, I believe its item 16 on page 2 of the parts diagram here but difficult to verify

JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: Also, I read that filling the dishwasher with water (to trick the sensor there is water) and then running it might be a way to check this, would you recommend doing this or no need?
James: Appliance Engineer: Generic parts would not be suitable as the brackets which secure them in place is key, plus they all take different loads and last thing you need is the valve failing and flooding the kitchen.
James: Appliance Engineer: You can try and rig up a way to bypass the inlet valve to let it fill but I would just start the washer and after drain cycle check the valve is getting voltage with a meter if there is voltage but not water entering it has to be the valve at fault.

My machine had a constant grinding (motor) sound whenever connected to power, even when the dishwasher's power button was off. What worked for me after watching this was loading a bucket of water into the dishwasher to trick it... it worked! What happened was then it continued with the last cycle it was on that had bee interrupted. I was then able to cancel that wash cycle just by pressing the 2 buttons as indicated on the front of the dishwasher.
