I have an Edgestar 120ss and there is a design flaw as my daughter has one too and had the same issue. There is a plastic round protrusion that a metal piece fits on and hooked to the wire on/off arm. The metal piece is screwed to the plactic protrusion ands swivels as the arm goes up and down. The metal piece makes contact with the switch which tells the machine to make ice or with the wire arm up disengages the switch so machine stops making ice. The plastic protrusion breaks making the switch think the arm is up thus shutting off the ice maker. Happened to both mine and my daughter's. You can't find replacement parts or a replacement icemaker for this model. I drilled out the broken piece and went all the way out the back side of the control box. Using an 1/12 inch #8 bolt and nut repaired the broken piece. I had to remove one of the ice teeth so the teeth can rotate past the bolt and nut. I apologize for not knowing the proper names of the parts but my machine has been working ever since and that was over 2 years ago.

Amazing! I've had that fault since I got the fridge, but as I don't use the icemaker I've ignored it, assuming it to be something to do with not using it. Today I'm attempting to take the icemaker apart to get to the fan that I think is behind the panel behind the icemaker and there it was - a break in the wire. Must have happened during assembly.
