People talk about about bad genetics in reference to insertions often. Truly bad genetics are those with tissue, skeletal, and tendon disorders that cause strain and joint inflammation injury by just looking at a barbell. Be grateful for having bad insertions but healthy tendons.

I have been a slim woman of around 22perent body fat my entire life. I ate pretty healthy, and worked out at least 5 times a week, so around 6 to 7 hours. I do not drink or smoke. Yet I found out my heart arteries were clogging up at 38 and doctor told me to lose fat and work out even more. I lowered my body fat with a very strict diet down to 19percent. Damage done to the arteries can not be reversed. I can only work hard to prevent things from getting worse. I was diagnosed with cervical cancer the next year. I was vaccinated, used condoms, never smoked or drank and did not take birth control pills. Yet it came. I had to get my womb and tubes and some limp nodes removed. I have not once lamented on my bad genes. I don't have the time to. I need to run an extra mile

Just fact checked that, and knowing that artery damage from obesity has no treatment is really scary. Just another reason for me to lose weight I guess.

because of rickets in my childhood, my right leg tibia is a about 1cm longer than left one, but opposite situation with femurs (so both legs have same total length), and my ribs do have not ideal curvature (at the beginning of a training of my chest i started not from 0 but from negative number level), yet i say i have good genetics - i have two hands and two legs and other things i have to have according to anatomy book.

My cousin & his friend complained about their toothpick legs. So they started doing standing 'broad jumps' over boxes. They kept at it. Fast forward ten years..... my cousin held his state's collegiate high jump record for two years..... and his legs were still toothpicks One summer in HS I doubled my bench press from June to September. My appearance did not change at all. Oh well......

Just saying, as you get older, you'll start to care much less about having a 10 pack and being sub-5% body fat, and you'll care a lot more about simply being able to function

Already at that point as a 20 year old. Dropped the gym for cycling despite making mad gains in the gym. I appreciate moving around more. I'll pick the gym back up again soon but with the intent of getting stronger in certain moves, not for bodybuilding.

To be honest, personally, I'm not pissed by the muscle insetions (because everyone with a decent amount of muscle looks good, no matter what) but by the speed of progress. It is really discouraging to see someone who doesn't put as much efforts than you and for less long getting better results just because of they're blessed. But, no matter what, I will still put in the efforts (because it's not as if I could do anything else) but it's really hard to not compare to others in this circumstance

facts, I feel this as well. I have been lifting consistently for 11 months now and my older brother has been lifting for 18 months. He is very big (at least 2x bigger than I am) and doesnt even have a diet, just eats whatever he really feels like while staying lean and muscular. I know that he has been lifting for longer than me, but he has been this big for quite a while and again, it seems so unfair. My muscle insertions are totally on the worse side while he has all the good genetics. Whenever you think about these things it is important to remember, if they do less then you and are making more progress now, then they may develop a mindset that it is easy for them and eventually you will overtake them and be bigger or around the same muscle mass as them, and you will have a better story to tell, have gone on a much greater and more fulfilling journey, you will have learned more throughout the entire proccess and be more satisfied with what you have accomplished because you had to work harder for it. Stay Strong And Keep Working!

i dont have perfect genetics, i mean pectus excavatum and rib flares, 4 pack abs, anterior pelvic tilt, easy store up fat, but belive me guys, dont be depressed about it, its like crying over an spoiled milk, there are some things u cant change "bone structure" but there is things u can change "body fat precentage", bicep size, overall strenght, and belive me because i know it from my experience, nobody will reject you because of worse look, have an goal and train for it, we are all gonna make it brahs!

genetics are only good/bad if they impede performance. some people have bad deadlift or bench press genetics cause of long/short arms, or they have bad jumping genetics etc. but superficial things like bicep insertions aren good or bad, they just demonstrate fundemental genetic variance in humans.

I don’t think it makes sense to say you need to worry about your genetics if you’re a professional bodybuilder, you won’t become a professional bodybuilder if you don’t have good genetics and there are a lot of people who want to become professional bodybuilders but can’t due to genetics.

Idk man, looking good vs health.....its honestly a tough choice. Because on the one hand you can be the healthiest person in the world, but look like trash. So you end up with poor mental health despite having the best physical health out of anyone. Conversely you could be truly genetically gifted to put on muscle and look good. Or even not gifted and just taking a bunch of gear. Even if on the inside you are dying physically, youd still have good mental health and look fantastic. So which is better?
