Alright... I'm typing out the whole FNAF lore in the comment section of your podcast episode. William Afton and Henry Emily opened a restaurant called fredbears Family Diner in the 70s. William has 3 kids. Michael(or mike), Evan/Cassidy(?) and Elizabeth. Henry has one kid named charlie fredbears had 2 animatronic characters, fredbear and yellow bonnie the diner was a great success so it expanded into fredbear and friends, where Freddy, blue Bonnie, chica, foxy, and several other unimportant characters were introduced, as well as the original fredbear and yellow Bonnie animatronics getting upgraded to have springlocks spring locks were a mechanism used to crank back the mechanical parts of the exoskeleton of an animatronic to be worn as a suit, so the mascot character looked the same as the animatronics. However, the spring locks are very sensitive, and if set off, it will cause the mechanical parts of the exoskeleton to shoot out and impale you. (THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT) Cassidy, the middle child (womp), is afraid of everything, including his dads animatronics. his big brother Michael is a piece of shit so he's constantly bullying him about it. against his own will, Cassidy has his birthday party at fredbear and friends. bro is crying the whole time. Micheal has the very smart 13 year old boy idea of picking up his little brother and putting his face up real close to fredbears face AND PUTTING THE KIDS HEAD IN FREDBEAR'S MOUTH. Cassidys tears cause the spring locks in fredbears face to malfunction so fredbears jaw closes right on the kids head, and takes a big fat chunk out of his frontal lobe. Cassidy goes unconscious for a while and then sadly dies and that incident is known as the bite of 83. William vows to "put him back Together." Because of that incident, fredbear and yellow bonnie were retired and the restaurant was renamed to Freddy Fazbear's pizza. Since William is a sad sack of shit and a horrible father he decides that it's Henry's fault that the bite happened since Henry was the one who invented the spring lock suits, and not because he raised his children horribly. So William decides the best way to deal with the grief of his dead son is to kill his co-founder's daughter. so he gets drunk and kills her outside the pizzeria bc a bunch of asshole kids locked her out there for shits and gigs. (the 80s where crazy) There's this robo puppet made for security that sees Charlie dead so it goes to help her and Charlie ends up possessing it. after William killed Charlie we guess he got a hunger for it or something bc he's a fucked up son of a bitch (we still don't really know the original reason William decided to start killing kids, man) but anyway, William kills 4 more kids using the yellow bonnie suit to lure them and stuffs the bodies in the Freddy, Bonnie, chica, and foxy suits so nobody finds them which is why its called the MCI (missing childrens incident) because the kids where never found. also Cassidy ended up sort of possessing fredbear but not fully or something like that (watch dual process video about the fnaf lore I agree with what they say about that whole ordeal) Charlie (the puppet) tries to save the kids by guiding their souls to possess the animatronics. so now all the robots are haunted. that restaurant gets shut down because of the MCI and because "hmmm why are these robots so stinky?" 4 years later a new Freddie's location opens with new and improved toy animatronics that are less ugly and made from the parts of the old animatronics so they're a little haunted too. While William is working on the new animatronics (William is also an engineer btw) William notices that the old animatronics are a little haunted and thinks he just invented immortality. He wants to try to bring Cassidy back to life, so he starts to experiment with this whole possession thing. So once the new place opens, William goes in disguise as a day shift employee and kills more kids using the yellow Bonnie suit and frames Henry. except the toy animatronics are too small to have bodies stuffed in them so there are just dead kids in the back room and the bodies get found and that's why it's called the DCI (dead children's incident) Henry goes to jail and Williams like "shit I gotta find out how these fucks get haunted" so he opens up his very own restaurant called "circus babys pizza" and the animatronics for Williams' new restaurant, recycled again from the old animatronics, are literally made to lure and kill kids. So William's daughter gets lured and killed by Circus Baby, and she haunts her. Because of that, the restaurant closes on the first day, and William just starts renting out the animatronics for birthday parties. While that's going on, Micheal is probably 18 or 19 now and also extremely traumatized. Williams like "heeeeyyyy my darling son Micheal whom has grown old enough to resemble me, I have some errands, so would you pretty please do a couple night shifts in my underground bunker full of machines haunted by dead kids that want to kill me for killing them and go check on your little sis pleeeaaasssee? remember, if you don't do what I say or if you tell the cops I killed people, I'll kill you teehee" and Micheal was like "shit okay" and then did it. The robots think Micheal is his dad and try to kill him. They all devise a plan to escape the bunker by scooping out michaels organs and living inside of him. Their plan works for a little while until michaels corpse rots, and they're like, "uhhh shit lets go" and escape into the sewers. (BTW the robot that tried to steal Mikes body was the mci kids and Elizabeth in one crazy concoction) Micheal is so fucking pissed at his dad that he posseses his own corpse out of sheer will power and determination to beat the shit out of his father for being such a massive ass and basically killing him. turns out the errands William was running were him going to shut down locations to get metal from the animatronics to see if he can melt it down to make remnant.(rement is basically the the thing that makes it possible to posses stuff). However, in breaking the animatronics, he let the souls out, and the ghosts want to kill him. So he runs and hides in the back room he killed the kids in, and gets into the yellow Bonnie suit to try and scare the kids away. William seemed to not think about how the suit is fucking old and the spring locks are worn down and damp. So as soon as he thinks he's okay and starts evil laughing because he's evil, the suit fully impales him and he dies from choking on his own blood :) (haha Freddy Fazbear hur hur hur hur hur) uhhh so the place William excruciatingly dies in gets turned into a Fazbear location again for a little bit (in case ur wondering it's the FNAF 1 location) and the back room gets boarded off so William is just sitting in there for thirty years. During those thirty years, Micheal is visiting old locations to try and find his dad and that's what the games are. we play as Micheal going to the old locations so he can try and find his dad (except the first 5 nights of FNAF 2 and FNAF 4) After 30 years, Freddy Fazbear's pizza has become a sort of folklore to the residents of the town in which FNAF took place. so some horror enthusiasts turn one of the locations into a horror attraction. they're looking to hire a night guard and Mike is like "well why the hell not at this point" and takes the job. BUT HOLY FUCKING SHIT! the employees find a boarded off back room that has an animatronic with a FUCKING CORPSE IN IT and are like "woah cool" so they make it a part of the attraction. but oohhhh no, William is possessing the yellow bunny suit (now known as Springtrap) so Mike is like "HOLY SHIT I FOUND THE FUCKER" and then burns down the whole establishment with his dad inside of it. Fast forward again a few years later and the company Fazbear Entertainment is coming back??? so Mike decides to humor this new restaurant and become the manager. He's told by the ceo to salvage animatronics found in the back alley to save money. However, the animatronics he salvaged include: his dad that somehow survived, his little sister that separated from the mci kids, charlie (the puppet) and the MCI kids melted into a horrible amalgam. Little did Mike know, the reason Fazbear Entertainment is back is because Henry is now out of jail and trying to unfuck everything William did by luring all of the souls to one spot and then burning the whole place down, thus, putting their souls to rest. except for William of course, which Henry says to him: "as for one of you, the darkest pit of hell has opened to swallow you whole, so don't keep the devil waiting, friend" WHICH IS A REAL QUOTE FROM FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDIES PIZZARIA SIMULATOR AND IF YOU DO ANYTHING YOU GOTTA GO LISTEN TO HENRYS SPEACH BC ITS HARD AS FUCK. anyway, all the souls are set free only Mike is so fucking pissed at his dad that he makes him his very own personal corner of hell to torture him forever in. The crying child, aka the victim of the bite of 83, is never put to rest. He is doomed to be attached to the fredbear exoskeleton by a thread forever. Anyway, thats just a theory UUH GAME THEORY!! (roaring applause) This is the most commonly known version of the lore that i combined with dualprocesstheorys lore video they did bc i think they are actually really smart and right. You should watch their video because this is still a loose and simplified explaination and I'm pretty sure I forgot some things or explained a couple things incorrectly. Lemme know if you have questions because I've unfortunately been in the fnaf fandom since I was 10 and know pretty much everything about this. Sorry for not talking about remnant that much, I didn't want to. this took an hour to write and I only wrote it because I was so pissed at the reddit post and how scattered and horribly communicated it was. 47:39 So, Technically the Suit That William Afton went into is called a “Spring Lock” suit. It was a Mechanical suit that could switch from being a robotic animatronic on stage to a costume a person could wear when the Metal Innards were cranked back! The mechanical Parts are extremely Sensitive due to them being very delicate, so one wrong move and one would be crushed immediately By the Metal snapping back into place. When this happens, the person inside begins to be Stabbed in place and slowly bleeds to death, causing the costume to Convulse and Twitch! Edit: I highly recommend You watch Matpat’s Videos over the Five Night at Freddy’s series, or the newest theory video by Dual Process Theory.. They do a really great job At explaining the lore if you have the time for it! I think it would be an amazing take for anyone wanting to know more about the concept!

I 100% recommend you watch Wendigoon's video about Fnaf, it takes some artistic liberties because the lore is so convoluted anyways that it's just a lot easier to digest that way, and I recommend anyone who wants to know the story to watch it, because it's so entertaining. Also, definitely watch the movie. It's so good. They change the plot a little bit, sometimes for the better, there are some changes that are disappointing because where the original lore leads is much cooler than what the movie picked out for it. But it's still a good movie, and still helps understand the universe of fnaf.

He has been linked to the bogaloo boys (spelling?) multiple times during their foundation and just general coded language he used that is closely linked to those circles. I mean, it is not easy, he sonewhat appears "reformed" now to some extend, but you never know for sure. But what is for sure: Ties in the past to hate groups (old photos and posts on forums/twitter), close to many gun youtubers who are very "blue lives" like some dude who watches clips of ppl getting sh0t by p0lice (photos, tagging each other), his own follows (he does not follow a lot of people, but many of them are on the right to some degree) etc. And he is obviously still very religious to a degree that is basicaly unquestioningly loyal (not necessarily right-leaning, but it can be part of the culture), him invalidating criticism for misrepresenting wendigo folklore + using it for profit as well as lecturing actual indigenous people about it and lying about growing up around indigenous folklore and culture (he grew up in a very white and republican area) is well documented over the internet. So yea, he is very good at keeping it ambigious and he mastered the art of online "w0ke-speech", but if the company you keep, who you support, your past and surroundings all fit and on the other hand you never did so for liberal circles...the shoe kinda fits. Sorry if this is messy, I just tried to be detailef and not just say "Yes" without nuance.
