I have breast cancer

On January 6, 2021 Delia was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. This was completely unexpected and has altered the trajectory of our lives for the foreseeable future. We discuss how we found out she had cancer, what her diagnosis was, her prognosis and steps to recovery as well as what this means for our future. We have struggled with infertility for several years and this is yet another roadblock to our goal of a full family. We continue to look forward with faith and hope. Delia has handled the news, her chemotherapy treatments and side effects with complete and utter grace. Her strength is inspiring and has been a gift given from God. We share a message of awareness to all so that others can be proactive and smart with their bodies to prevent the possible calamities of a cancer diagnosis. We appreciate the love, prayers and ongoing support. I kindly ask that all continue to pray for our lovely Delia.

I was diagnosed at age 25 with triple negative breast cancer stage 3. I couldn’t afford to freeze my eggs. Did chemotherapy,bilateral mastectomy &radiation. Hi Delia, I’m going through the same thing. Breast cancer stage 2. 47 days after I got engaged I went to the doctors and right there and then I was diagnosed. I cried so much. I’m only 25 years old. It’s been a long journey. I went through chemotherapy, 2 surgeries, and radiation. Next month I will get a pet scan. Praying everything goes well. Praying for you, you are not alone. Thank God you healthy I'm also breast cancer survivor estrogen positive stage 3 few lympnodes positive I'm 4 years survivor still soo anxious visit my oncologist every 3 months but getting close to 5 years and continues as long I have to anastrozole, zolsfex injection to block estrogen its not fun a lot side effects from sleep issues, early menopause but I'm healthy.

My Mother was 82 years old diagnosed with Matastic breast cancer 6 years ago, she decided to have a double Mastectomy and she was not a candidate for chemotherapy or radiation therapy, she was placed on a medication for 5 years and shes been Cancer Free for 5 years now , Breast Cancer can happen at any age. I am taking an Estrogen blocker as you are after my breast cancer. I did not feel it at all. But then it was very small 1-b. Only one lump node had a trace. I followed up with 7 weeks of radtion 5 days a week. I had no pain very little discomfort after the surgery. I had my uterus and ovaries out at 45. But my Estrogen levels still produce in my later years . Well I just wanted to say God is the power in life. He is with us if we let him control our lives. My youngest daughter 37 yrs was diagnosed with cervical cancer 3mo ago..its been quite a journey for our whole family, but a blessed one..my other 3 older daughters and son have rallied around her and her family in ways that has brought them closer as siblings..stay strong and faithful to God its a journey from him..

I was 34 and diagnosed with ductal carcinoma insite2 I didn't need chemo but I lost both of my breasts. My husband at the time, (I divorced him) was a complete jerk. Also a breast cancer survivor here! The medical field has dramatically advanced by leaps and bounds! I never felt like this was how my story would end. The biggest advice I have is have a positive mind at all times. Once the negativity starts to set in its hard not tonlet that creep in. Be tough!!!

I was diagnosed with Her2 Triple positive Stage 3 Breast cancer in June 2020. I just finished with Radiation a little over a week ago and I am now doing 14 rounds TDM1 Infusions. I never thought I would be able to get this far. Praying for you! Stay strong Pink Sister!

I am so sorry that you have breast cancer. Just know i have had breast cancer, endometriosis at the same time. Endo was so aggressive , i had surgeory for both. My doctor told me without the surgeory i would have had two weeks to live. That was thirty years ago and still thriving. Have hope, you will survive. Be strong , eat healthy and enjoy your life.

I’m an interventional radiology nurse and I see first hand when a patient goes in to get diagnostic testing/biopsies then they come back to get chest ports inserted after they find out they are positive. That is exactly what my oncologist said. I was diagnosed with stage IV ovarian cancer in May 2020. I had a large tumor blocking my large intestines and the cancer had also spread to my liver. After 6 rounds of chemo and an operation there is no evidence of disease since September 2020. The things that got me through were love from family and friends, a positive attitude, lots of fruit and vegetables, no sugar, the treatment my oncologist suggested, a lot of laughter and most of all GOD carried me. The Lord brought the two of you together because now you will able to be there for each other because you know what it is like to have cancer. Having cancer is like speaking a language only another person who has or has had cancer truly understands.

I have 4 family members who have all had various cancers and all survivors. My sister had stage 3 aggressive breast cancer 10 years ago and is doing so well and is still cancer free. Flashback to taking my dad in to emergency with his appendics and finding out from the scans he has a tumor the size of a football around his kidney. Did appendics surgery, month later removed his right kidney, couple days later his leg his swollen to double it's size, took him in again and he had a massive blood clot down his leg and across his stomach, treated that for 6+months..fast forward a year and some and found 3 more small tumors..couple months later they cut out some of his intestine where one of them was and 2 of them had grown together on his back muscle, removed that. Recovered beautiful and has been cancer free for a year now. Scans keep coming back clear.. praying for God's blessings and strength on you and your family. ❤️

Dylan, Delia finds strength through God, herself, and you. You pick up the conversation when she needs pause, and she does the same for you. Together with God, and family you will get through. I would take this from you if I could, and add it to my recent cancer diagnosis because I am 67. Once you get through treatment there should be years ahead of you to continue enjoying. Life just seems to come with hiccups along the way. HE is carrying you both, and countless prayers are being spoken for you both during this difficult journey.

I was diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer in June of last year. I went through chemo, radiation and 2 surgeries. I believe my faith got me through all of it. I also believe sometimes bad things happen to good people. Their were relatives on my moms side that had colon cancer so I believe a lot was genetic. I’m currently in remission Praise the Lord! It was a tough journey and I know it’s still not over but I’m grateful for the break I have now. Also I was told I would lose all my hair within the first 2 weeks of chemo. My hair did thin a little but I never lost all of it. I still have a head full of hair. It seems you have a good attitude about it all and that will definitely help you on your journey. Delia & Dylan, I've been wondering why I'd not seen y'all in a while. I'm here in my bed in NC listening & watching you guys on my smart TV. I'm so sorry to hear this. I've prayed often for you both. I can't stop the big crocodile tears seeing the sadness in the 2 of you. Our God is an awesome God ! He's the greatest physician. Thank you precious Father for the negative PET scan. I'm not sure if you've heard about Tia Bee Stokes that lives in Orem, Utah but I'm going to borrow her phrase in saying "Him, you, me, We. WE GOT THIS !! I'm not able to do much physically aged 64 with many health problems but God called me to be a prayer warrior long ago in 2003 after breaking my back twice in 2 months. I vow to go through this journey with you & Dylan as I have with Tia & many more. Tia is a very encouraging lady to watch . She of course credits Father God for all things she's been through. No matter the trial God WILL see you through it . Dylan stay strong & I'll be praying for you as well as you're the touchstone Delia leans on each day. I love you both you're my brother & sister in Christ. I love the whole Chatfam . It does my heart good to see young people as yourself putting your trust in God .
