The Ford GT-40 was a Dan Gurney car, you can tell by the bump on the roof, Dan was 6' 4" and his helmet hit the roof. Not fun in a 24hr event.

That's definitely a bad ass car, too.

I think they did that to all of them the year he drove in case he had to switch cars. I could be mistaken tho

Actually it's called the Gurney bubble. Dan required a tad more room. You can get it on any Ford GT40 replica or continuation model as an option.

Gorgeous galaxy. I've owned six mustangs but have always been more of a galaxy, Fairlane, Torino and Mercury Cyclone guy. I've even owned a 68 Cougar XR7 which was my very first car. The galaxy reminds me of another hilborn fuel injected 427 cammer car, a Willys pickup truck that demolished everything street racing back in the day. What a pile of money your friend has in his FE. They are very expensive to build. My 428cj I built for my 67 Fairlane GTA had domed pistons and heads shaved about 13.5 to 1 compression ran it on 106 low lead aviation fuel from the rural airport ten minutes from my house. It ran 10.39/134mph @1/4. I've built a couple in my life, second one was for someone else spending their money. The coyote is a great powerplant for yours. I'm wanting to put a 598c.i./Kasse heads motor in my 98 Mustang GT. Great content.

Holy shit, that Galaxie is gorgeous. Plus with the Roush 427, 6 speed and brake/suspension upgrades I'm betting it'd drive really nicely too.

I drove a 1990 Mustang GT daily years ago and I could get up to 22 mpg as long as I stayed out of the throttle. It still ran high 12s in the quarter when I wanted it to. That's a bada** LX.

Cool build. Those cars weight about 2 tons. I'm sure that small block shaved off about 400lbs. All it needs now is everything from a lightweight.

I've had a few stangs , but a Galaxy of that vintage eluded me. Now they're extremely pricey . I had a 84 stang & it was my favorite.. I bought a brand new 95 stang with the 5.0. The nxt yr they went to the 4.6 . (I think). The 5.0 was so sought after , I sold my 95 for what I paid 2 yrs later. Should've kept it... It was Laser red , which got a lot of compliments. All told I've had 11 mustangs from 1969 to 2006. My second car I owned was a 1976 Cobra... Not the most collectable , but with a few upgrades I made er' a screamer.. But my 1st car is still one of my fav's. A 73' Chevelle... Not highly collectable , but it was a beauty . She was red with red interior.. 350 , 4 speed . I pulled the stock 350 & dropped a high comp 350 out of a SS Nova . She was plenty fast & a dream to drive...
