My sibiling had keloids, which was removed surgically but returned. After the second surgery, she was immediately given laser therapy and it never returned. Ladies, I pray that you are guided to a clinic that can offer you these services and that the universe be benevolent to you so you both can cover the cost of your care. Blessings in abundance.

It made me appreciate the gift of life and health. It just opened my life that our bodies are so temporary. Above all you have just taught me to carry my life struggles with grace and hope. Much strength to you. I pray that medicine may find an answer to Keloids.

So a friend of mine has done some research on keloids, and we have had many conversations about this condition, and we would joke around about how difficult it is to get patients to agree to provide samples and such. Now hearing the stories from the mouths of said patients, I realise that our convos lacked much context and the necessary empathy. This interview has reminded me once again how desensitized people in academic research can be, and I think the same applies to medical professionals. I have experienced the same frustration with doctors because my son has chronic eczema. Medical professionals (doctors, nurses, etc.) tend to treat patients like they are just a file number or just another sample on a Petri dish, forgetting that these are real people, dealing with very real pain. They do not do enough, and often, they pile on the anxiety and distress.

I had keloids on my cesarean scar. After my second child, the next obstetrician cut them out, and attempted a type of stitch that decreased scaring. They still came back but MUCH smaller. He has informed me that IF they come back, he could inject steroids into the scars, which would lead to bleaching if the skin, but smaller keloids. It's heartbreaking heating this lady say she's scratching them this much, Its key not to scratch. That causes them to grow. It need not cost THOUSANDS to repair these. A dermatologist can help.

@@damariszuckschwert9489 oh, the surgery is not for the keloids on my ears. It's a hysterectomy but my dread is what will happen with that abdominal incision scar when it heals. I had a hernia repair surgery when I was 5 and that healed without keloids...then I did double piercings on my ears in my late teens and I ended up with keloids. They are not massive but they itch and grow, more on my left side. I had them but once and injected with steroids but that made them angrier so I have left them alone for now and they seem to have settled down a bit. It is a gamble.

It looks like it could be this thing and my husband and I were wondering why it kept growing. Thank you so much for the show Relebogile, I'm going to get it checked out before it gets big. I forgot to mention that after radiation there is a type of plaster to use on the scar to press them down so they dont grow back and also use a scar cream. I couldn't get intimate with keloids on the c section scar because my partner at the time, a strong man used to be so scared of the keloids and cringed or scream if he accidentally touched them coz he said it felt like he is touching an opened wound (in his mind) and that used to annoy me. Keloids are common in black female as they say. Unfortunately it is difficult to treat because the more you operate in them the worse they become. Doctors sometimes don't have the patience of explaining to patients especially if they don't know how to treat them. It's important for the ladies if they have kids to educate them about the condition so that in future if the kids need surgery , the must inform doctors that there is a history of keloids in the family. I empathize with the ladies. 💔

Urgent : Hi Relebohile please share with the lafies. I had keloids as well after c section operation and they grew so big .They were so itchy and because of the region of the c section scar it looked wrong when I scratched them around people. I had to go for an operation to have them removed. After the operation I had to go for radiation sessions on the scars for 2 weeks to avoid them growing back. I wish there were contact details left for your guests. My keloids never grew back after the radiation and that was in 2010 im free now. Please tell them.

My mother also have them and they are so painful. She has more than ten years bearing the pain and had tried almost everything to heal it but nothing. It is so painful seeing her in that pain everyday. 💔

A keloid surgery could also result in more keloids because any little trauma to the skin can heal as a keloid. Better to leave them

I think our skin types play a role here and some medication maybe causes Keloids, research needed. I had Keloid with my first C-section wound and it grows inside and outside,it was itchy,I gave birth in one of the best private Hospital, the way they stitch the wound is not good, they use thing that looks like staples, imagine that on your skin. With my second C-section in a State Hospital, my Doctor cut them all off and they never comes back, forever thankful to my Doc🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️

Itching Is Uncomfortable, You Cannot Think While You Are Scratching. I Had Hives For A Day And I Went A Little Crazy. Thank You For Bringing Awareness. We Will Do Yearly Skin Check Ups From Now On.Only If Zola7 Was Still Airing,They Would Have Gotten Help Earlier.

I'm a victim of Keloids. I have to try by all means to not get hurt because they will develop. They started when I was only 14, on me ears. I tried cutting them but 1 came back. I now have 6.The bigger 1 is the C- section. I hate the itching, I hate the questions and starring. I fear having a second child. Id remove them any day, if possible.

That operation and radiation don't work, we must just accept ourselves as tough as it is. As fr when it itches maybe we should have water in spray bottles then spray just to avoid rubbing and scratching it 😭
