I started doing Bible fixing and rebinds for people at church. I watched many of those you mentioned on youtube and learning a lot. I can't afford real leather, using a synthetic product and it works Okay. Most of them I do free and even practice on Bibles I get for two dollars or less at thrift stores and then give them alway. it is a great hobbie.

You would be shocked how cheap you can get a leather jacket or a leather shirt or even leather pants at a thrift shop! If it's big enough it might be enough to bind one or two bibles.

I just bought my first bible, I couldn’t afford a new one so I purchased a used one. It is a Red Letter Bible from 1905. It had a newspaper clipping from it looks from about the 50 ‘s, which tells of the family surviving a boat crash. I figured God saved them and consider it a good sign ✝️💟. It needs a rebinding for sure. I’m so happy to run across this video 😊

Quite inspiring. As of the time I am watching this video, I am (literally working on) my first Bible rebind. It is a basic NASB Bible I bought at Walmart nearly twenty years ago, and has seen it's share of wear. While not perfect (which part of me doesn't mind due to the condition of the pages,) it is now a hardcover sheepskin leather Bible in red, and I am adding text to the cover with plans to design and print a bookmark for it.

Between the 3 Tim’s Reviews and Frost Rebinds, I have decided to dive into the Bible Rebind hobby. I’m still building my workspace, and collecting tools but ready to get started. My biggest challenge seems to be getting the correct leather/material. All the online tutorials are great, but I’m still hesitant to make the buy on leather product.

I have a Bible I used in seminary. It is actually a Greek NT and Hebrew OT bound together. It was bound by a student at the seminary who was working part time at a bindery in Philadelphia. It’s hard cover bound and I’m interested in having it bound in leather. I’d be glad to keep the covers as hard board covers but maybe covered in leather. Not sure how it would work being totally rebound. Who would you recommend I contact to see if they could do it?
