Anueng is supposed to look 'uncomfortable' due to her lack of experience. In the novel, she is also ashamed of being a masochist, and Nueng reassures her by confessing that she herself is a bit of a sadist with a dominance kink and that there is nothing wrong with it. In that scene, they were trying to portray Anueng holding back her pleasure due to shame, while Nueng helps her to express it. And I think the scene makes that clear even without the book context

She was supposed to look "uncomfortable" initially! She is very inexperienced, HOWEVER, she is into both pleasure and pain. In the novel, Anueng is very much into BDSM, but for obvious reasons they can't fully display that on KZbin. When she turned over, the kisses were overstimulating her, but when Khun Nueng started kissing her ear and biting it, that's when Khun Nueng picked up on that she was into the pain aspect as well! She wanted her to vocalize what she wanted from her, so when she said, "I want you to bite me," that's what she proceeded to do.

I always agree with you up until the love scenes 😭. Like I can agree that Yoko doesn’t match Faye’s intensity 100% but her character is also supposed to be a bit “uncomfortable” or shy or whatever. Even in the novel while Anueng knows what she wants she was ashamed to express it as such, she’s inexperienced and new to all of those feelings and sensations. Also Khun Nueng definitely roll her over. That was very apparent since it was literally after she said “do as I please”. I feel like Yoko's acting is just fine in this series, judging by people who have read the book describing Anueng I would say her acting is quite accurate to someone experiencing these feels for the first time because not everyone adjusts immediately on their first time especially if they are ashamed of developing a kink so the uncomfortable facial expressions she was making during the love scene makes sense that it would take an couple of times to adjust and has nothing to do with her actually feeling uncomfortable or her acting needing work. I also think Faye and Yoko's chemistry blends together very well.

They managed to convey emotions 100%; This is the only GL series I watch. They sent me a link and I didn't miss a single episode. This makes sense, it’s not disgusting to watch, like in many American TV series, it’s just sickening, how you can do this with one woman, and an hour later with another. Faye knows how to behave, she is a wonderful actress. And Yoko is very sweet, she has no experience communicating with a woman, but well done, she was able to convey a lot of emotions. They succeeded. If I'm not gay, but I watch this series and enjoy it, then it's the best in the world!

Hey, i love your channel so much and im always waiting for your videos ❤ but about the love scene , im pretty sure that khun nueng was the one who push anueng , but i wish that people would pay more attention to the story and characters ,the amount of comments saying that Yoko's presence in the series is not necessary and that she doesn't match Faye's energy , is really upsetting. Like anueng's character stands on its own, her character is supposed to be bright, naughty,cute, soft and also the most vulnerable and mature of them , and yoko does all of this very well. I don’t think I’ve seen someone mentioning it yet but I actually thought that Aneung was frowning because she was trying to keep back her moans. Which Neung noticed as well after which she tried to coax her to let loose. As someone did mention the cute doctor is a character from another novel called Affair in which she gets a girlfriend as well. (She will be played by another actress in the series that was announced though) In the Blank novel the doctor is in this relationship so I wonder if her girlfriend will make an appearance in the show.

Due to Khun Nueng's dialog about Anueng going along with her desires, coupled with the movement of Faye's shoulders, I immediately thought that Khun Nueng was the the one rolling Anueng away in order to get easier access to that cute little ear. Not once have I gotten the impression that Anueng rolled herself over. It's just my own mileage, mind, but you might take another look at the scene in that light. For science, of course. Chet's second proposal is hardly a surprise, given that most of the main characters' lives revolve around Anueng. Kun, the actor who plays Chet, does a fantastic job of portraying his character's driving ambition to nail down an heir to please his parents and create political capital as a family man. His status as a political hopeful also sheds a light on his aversion to the idea of his heir as homosexual. Well acted, Kun!

My POV was that Khun Nueng was the one that rolled anueng over after she said 'she should do as she pleased'. The reason why Khung Nueng asked Anueng 's "What's the matter" after biting her jaw and ear i think, was because she saw Anueng reaction to that biting and asked if she liked it. But on the other hand, it's normal for people in a relationship to feel jealousy and to sulk about small things and to demand for things sometimes. That's why we should stop trying to expect perfection from all of the lesbian characters and bisexual characters. There's gotta be a little bit of flaw in there somewhere or else those characters wouldn't be relatable and entertaining because there's no perfect person to begin with regardless of your ethnicity and sexuality. The L Word was a massive hit worldwide because the characters were flawed especially Bette Porter. Same goes to GAP the series, Pretty Little Liars, Legends of Tomorrow, The Fosters, and all those other shows with homosexuality.

I get that you're a total bottom for Faye (which has perhaps clouded you judgment), but I do find this review very one sided and a bit of a shame in regards to Anueng as a character. Lets not forget that Nueng is 37. A lot of the character development is thanks to Anueng. She is 21 and pretty inexperienced in many areas, but is in many scenarios the mature one of the two, and helps Nueng communicate. Just like in the car scene about the article and being scared. Anueng is an interesting character and played beautifully by Yoko.

I wouldn’t so much call it “defending” more or so clarifying. It could have been portrayed a bit better I suppose but most people watching this scene was able to get what was supposed to be conveyed. Not everyone will have the same insight, even if it was portrayed differently, I’m sure there would still be some people confused or in the gray.

Just found your channel and love your comments and analysis. I would say that the writing and directing have also helped in elevating a maybe not so deep source material. I also agree that while Yoko is amazing in the dramatic scenes, she does leave Faye carrying their love scenes on her back (their chemistry is a huge saving grace tbh). And I don't think it can all be attributed to portraying Anueng with little experience, Yoko herself has said that those are the most difficult scenes for her. She finds it uncomfortable to act out something that is so intimate, and it shows. This isn't an attack on her, just constructive criticism. She and Faye will very likely be working together on several future projects, so hopefully, she becomes more comfortable in those scenes. And I don't say this because I want to see explicit scenes but it can only benefit the show to not see her visibly be uncomfortable, to at least see her feel more open to using her hands when showing affection in those intimate scenes. The only disagrement I have is that while Nueng is a dominant character (especially in intimate moments), I don't think she is controlling. At least not the series Nueng.

I think KN lightly rolled AN onto her side. That’s how I saw that moment when I first saw the scene and every time I’ve watched it since, and I’ve watched it so, so, so many times. Faye is unlike any other actress I’ve seen in sapphic intimate scenes. Everything she does in those moments has such genuine intensity. Every time I see her kiss in this series I have to pause and rewind and take a break staring off at the wall or the floor only to play it again, pause, sigh, and wish I were Yoko.

New subscriber here 😍. Here are my (most likely) controversial opinions. Yoko is a great actress, but I think it was bad casting physically. I felt uncomfortable watching some scenes, esp in season 1. Yoko looks so young! Like 15. This feels like the elephant in the room but maybe it’s just me. I also wanted someone more, even somewhat, interactive in bed. Like me! My fantasy is pretending to try and flip Faye onto her back and she doesn’t let me 😂. Please Faye, do as you please with me! Lastly, Faye, if you’re reading this, please don’t get any more work done! Her cheek fillers make her face look more generic. Still stunning obviously. Don’t get me wrong. I love the show. I love and lust after Faye. What she says to Yoko in the birthday love scene. Just her voice. Gnawing on Yoko’s ear. She’s one of the most beautiful and sexiest women in the world. OMG. I have also done significant research on the love scene. 😇

Kuhn Nueng also ran away on the wedding day. So they're just have the same issues and personality. Because they both get abused from adult that they should've trust the most in their life.

i'm italian and gay so the "italian style" it's there for me ahah i have a very unpopular opinion and is that Faye carries 99% of their physical scenes and maybe 75% of their emotional scenes... I have eyes only to see Faye and yeah she could bite a pillow instead of Yoko and i would be on my knees dead. I also share with you the same opinion about the love final scene, like yoko looked uncomfy as hell

For me her expression doesnt suit the moment. Almost like she is in pain. Watch the part when Ar-nueng bits her again near the shoulder and even when she calls her name. It all just sounds wrong.

I feel her expressions matched the scene. It was supposed to be a mixture of pain and pleasure. Keep in mind that the novel portrays Anueng as a masochist AKA she likes BDSM.

I’ve noticed a lot of people want AN/Yoko to be someone else. My question to them is why are you watching the series then? The main complaint from people is that Yoko can’t match up with Faye sexually, even though that’s exactly how it’s supposed to be. KN is AN’s first relationship, she will obviously have more experience than her. People also hate on how childish she is and say it’s a turn off but that’s literally Anueng’s character. There are other series to watch if this one isn’t to your liking.
