I might be rusty on the whole Ebony & Ivory, but i dont think they're devil Arms.. Correct me if i am wrong, but they were made by Nell Goldstein. I mean if they are Devil arms, they might have only been so by being enhanced by a devil spirit or something in that vein, like how you'd get the weapons by killings bosses. Devil Arms are basically weapon obtained by killing a strong demon and taking their essence?

Pretty sure that is Arkham, just turning into Jester for the first time probably. The ears and face is identical to jester, as well as the clothes looking exactly like Arkham's. And the eyes of course being a major giveaway.

Btw that's not Ebony & Ivory, not by the look of it, just a standard handgun that resembles a Taurus .40, which makes me think this story might be from before he got them made for him, so it's likely before DMC3, either that or a spin-off story that's not even canon.

"Had a rough start with DMC 1" Ok, DMC1 is anything but a rough start, that game was revolutionary. It helped create many staple action norms used in games ever since, and was probably the first really good action game. Yes there were good games with action elements, but nothing where the action was that complex and that much of a focus (outside of fighting games I guess). You could say you think it didn't age well (personally I disagree. I think it's still fun to this day, and it's probably the most overall well designed dmc game outside of 5), but at the time it was nothing short of amazing. As for some of the other things, Ebony and Ivory were not created at the time the anime takes place, and they are not demonic weapons, Dante only channels his demonic energy through them (honestly not that much of a difference, an easy mistake to make). And DmC: Devil May Cry is not canon. I believe this anime is adapting the unfinished dmc3 manga and maybe some other manga/novel that takes place before 3. Nice job noticing the awakened Rebellion design, I didn't see that the first time. However I think that was just a stylistic decision, like how his medallion looks different. The reason I say this is that most things in the trailer point towards it, like the lack of Ebony and Ivory, the bunny demon at the end, and Arkham being shown. I think that's supposed to be him turning into jester, since the design is really similar, the clothes look identical and he has the different colored eyes. And since Arkham can't be alive after 3, that could only mean this takes place before 3, and I doubt they would be constantly switching between before and after 3 as that would be too confusing.

DmC: Devil May Cry isn't canon to the main story. It's officially an alternative universe or parallel timeline just like the one from the Devil May Cry Volume 2 novel. This new anime isn't canon either. Adi stated in an interview it's part of his bootleg multiverse, that's why you see elements from basically every entry in the series (Vol 1, DMC3 Manga, DMC 3, DMC 1, DMC 2, DMC4) Ebony & Ivory aren't demonic weapons. They were made by Nell Goldstein in Devil May Cry Volume 1 (Dante is around 17 - 18 in that novel). During that time Dante or rather Tony worked as a mercenary and used to destroy every weapon because they couldn't handle his fire rate and strength hence why Nell (his mother figure) decided to make E&I. Arkham gained demonic power, basically an artificial half demon if you will. Like I said, this isn't canon, it's more of a mix mash of everything in DMC excluding DmC (or maybe not given the pendant) so don't expect it to follow any game or novel story line. Aside from that the anime looks interesting, hopefully they don't pull a netflixvania too. Forgot to add, JYB is voicing Dante here, they didn't bring Reuben back because of his political views... also, also the rabbit is from the DMC3 manga. Finally the timeline is: Vol 1 > 3 Manga > DMC 3 > DMC Peak of Combat (yes... it is canon) > DMC Live Hackers (yes.... this thing apparently is canon too) > DMC 1 > DMC The Animated Series (2008) > DMC Vol 2 > DMC 2 > DMC 4 > DMC Before the Nightmare > DMC VoV/DMC 5.
@antelasic1950Ай бұрын
DMC Peak of Combat isn't canon. And as for Live Hackers (first time I ever heard that that's even a thing) I couldn't find a solid answer, but I'm more curious as to why they even decided to make a dmc stage play. And the canon status of the new anime is up in the air. The whole "bootleg multiverse" always seemed more of a joke to me rather then something that he was serious about. Plus considering how most of the things in the trailer seem to be just adapting the manga, it could be considered canon. Also, I think Ruben said that wasn't the reason, at least for PoC. If that really was the reason then that would be quite sad. I honestly don't care what he think, he's a perfect Dante.
@Tony-lw5ypАй бұрын
@@antelasic1950 They have stated several times that POC is a sequel. That's as canon as it gets. Obviously you wouldn't have ever heard about Live Hackers. Apparently it happens some time prior to DMC 1 and there Dante learns some secrets about the Force Edge and supposedly it has repercussions in DMC 1. The bootleg thing isn't a joke, he literally wants to make a crossover between netflixvania and DMC, it's in the same interview if memory doesn't fail me.
@antelasic1950Ай бұрын
@@Tony-lw5yp That statement happened for the previous version of the game. Remember originally they were claiming it was a remake of 3, so clearly these things change. Since the change in direction it was determined to be a alternate universe sort of thing. On the dmc wiki there's even an article about how it's not canon. There are a lot of things in game that just can not be canon like many bosses who, if this was a sequel to 3, either shouldn't be there or should be dead. Phantom couldn't have fought Dante before 1, Nevan not only should be dead, but should be a devil arm. And that's even ignoring the obvious contradiction of Nero being there, but I guess you could consider him non-canon like how Vergil is in 3, 4, and 5 (even though playing as him is mandatory at one point in the game). There's even just reskinned Urizen as a fight. As for the bootleg thing, I get that he said it in an interview, but he later said that he was joking about some other things he said in interviews, so I don't think that means he was 100% serious. Besides he isn't the owner of these shows. You can't just say they are in the same universe. Both Capcom and Konami would need to allow such a thing to happen, which doesn't sound likely. Second, this show seems to just be adapting the events before 3, so the novel and the unfinished manga, which is already mostly considered canon, so I see no reason for this not to be canon if those already are, especially since they already made one anime canon. And again as for the Live Hackers, idk much about it. I couldn't find a conclusive yes or no on it's canon status so I could see either being the case.
