As an American, it really helped, I know roughly how much a washing machine weighs because I’ve like moved them, you can FEEL a washing machine’s weight, so taking that feeling and multiplying it by weight is way easier than imagining 500 of an IMAGINARY weight measurement

@@HeyThereImManny Fun fact, the Kilogram isn't imaginary. There's a physical weight that was used to calibrate scales that's currently in France (we've moved away from that tho). So the Kilogram is just as physical as a washing machine since both were made by humans. And yeah, definitely easier to imagine the weight when you've held it in your hands before.

I think that Cocytus can beat Albedo is because the Bright King Combo is a 5 hit attack and thus circumnavigates Albedo's 3 piece armour if done correctly and before she can counter attack, 0 to deathing her, whilst Sebas might be able to avoid the attack due to his martials arts skills and self sustain, whilst Albedo is able to tank Seba's blows and counter before Sebas defeats her

​@@-Apoptos- perhaps, but Cocytus is considered to have the strongest offence out of all the NPCs, even if he can't perform the bright king combo, he likely has something with enough overwhelming power to break through the strongest defence. Also it's noteworthy that Albedo was designed to buy time against players that were pretty much guaranteed to defeat her so that the guild players could get into position to do their final boss routine. Unfortunately no players made it that far.

I'm interested in seeing Maruyama eventually explain Ainz's Orb in the LN, we know that it's a world item in both the Light novel and the Web novel and we also know that it had multiple useful applications in the Web novel, I want to know how it works in the LN

If I recall, the PDL weapons are part of the armor, it was all a single shared HP pool. Rigrit's ring Should give whoever is wearing it a +5 level of Wariro, even if the user is not a warrior or if they are at lv 100. (Wearing the Ring would make a lv 100, a lv 105).

Iirc the armor lost integrity when PDL casted Wild Magic. Which indicates that Wild Magic is not compatible with items from Yggdrasil.

The likely reason for the inversion of the rock paper scissors dynamic is gyuniginapp. Albedo didn’t have it as part of her original equipment as it was added on when Ainz’s first visits the vault. I think in terms of endgame cocytus is more a sustained dealer with some debuffs to increase his survivability than the glass cannon you described as that fits better with what melee classes with many weapons tend to play as whip accounting for his own innate elemental abilities.

What is truly interesting is how well the mangaka portrays evil characters in such a likeable manner. We really should all consider if we have a screw loose for liking this show this much!! Which is, considering the nature of leveling and progression in YGGDRASIL, would be pretty impactful, even more so in the NW. if we are still following dnd logic the greatsword and katana for the platinum armor would likely both be slashing but have different sub properties with the greatsword being versatile dealing more damage depending on how its held and the katana being finesse scaling off dexterity instead of strength. probably if someone had skills or magic that reduced the armors str or reduced damage from strength based attacks

2:41 It might be two types of "slashing", one is like a normal sword, probably the Katana, the other is chopping, like an Axe, or in this case "greatsword" Basically same as splitting logs, a sword is great and all for slashing, but it's not great for wood, you'd want an Axe, so... Maybe something like that?

The katana and greatsword could be because they have different attack intervals. Most people and games treat katanas as a fast slashing weapon with the greatsword being slow and powerful, so having both and alternating between the two can give you more options to deceive your opponent with a feint (if you bother switching between the two).

the bone armour is *clearly* a great idea. Armour that scales its defense on how smart you are? perfect armour for a leader. the dumber they are the faster they die, the smart ones stick around longer, probably by realising the armour may not be that good for them

Just found you and I love your videos man. Good editing. Good yapping. And most importantly you talk a lot about my favorite show. at 9:25 you talk about the Rock-Paper-Scissors and can't reason it. Here's how I rationalize the cannon reason: Basically Glass cannon (Cocytus) beats hardcore tank (Albedo) since the wall isn't strong enough to withstand 4 killing blows at the same time from his 4 arms. I do see the universe tho where she uses Ginnungagap to win. But maybe it's only a 1 out of 10 times kinda thing that she can live through the first onslaught. Also wasn't Ginnungagap obtained after the Rock-Paper-Scissors was decided? Hardcore tank beats dexterity fighter (Sebas) because there's no weak points for the higher mobility to take advantage of. And idk how Sebas' self healing works exactly but if you do 0 damage then you get 0 life steal, no? Dexterity fighter beats glass cannon since it can deflect/dodge killing blows and heal minor ones. Sebas **was** confirmed to be the best melee fighter when in his true form. So, when you have a 99% dodge chance then it doesn't matter if the boss one shots you. They'll need to land a hit first. But if you can't kill the boss, a 99% dodge chance might as well be 0% since the boss will just keep attacking until they hit you and you can't heal off them to make it a stalemate. And Idk Albedo's entire skill set either, but since Albedo will be reflecting all of those medium hits back at you before the damage reduction, you're honestly better off not even attacking.

Katanas are weapons made to slice/cut as in slicing an enemy open like a fruit. Whereas a greatsword is more of a striking weapon (like an axe) with the biggest differences being the whole blade of the sword can be used to parry (easier parry in general as you also have a crossguard). Also the potential area of impact (from the weapon) is in general bigger with a greatsword (straight blade) in contrast to an axe (curved blade). So having a Katana AND a greatsword on their own is feasible and sensible in some sort. Also if I remind correctly the armor of the Lizardmen is 'extremely' durable but to wield it means a HEAVY debuff on your intelligence or at least mental capabilities. So it is super powerful, but you have to be such a genius (in relative terms as we're talking about the lizardmen here; and I don't remember a value for the debuff was given) that donning this armor doesn't transform you into a drooling lumpsack who literally FORGETS how to breathe.

Albedo beats Sebas do to Sebas lacking the DMG to kill Albedo before he runs out of MP or whatever he uses to heal and such Sebas beats Cocytus do to having high enough DMG, Defense and healing to outlast Cocytus And Cocytas beats Albedo do to his DMG just being to high and her DMG just being to low for her to outlast him This hole thing does not take into account any world items either of them have, any strategies they might use or the Dragon transformation that Sebas has to boost himself up

At 2:40, its possible that the author uses the same damage type idea that FromSoftware likes to use in their games which splits them between: - Standard (Greatsword) - Slash (Katana) - Thrust (Spear) - Blunt (Hammer) With Standard being the "basic" one that is commonly useful against all enemies, but isn't particularly powerful against any either.

Wasn't the rock paper scissor dynamic set up before they were given world level items by Ainz? Also I am not really sure how Cocytus would be a burst dps as a pure fighter, though I am not versed in the detailed make-up of his build. So the reason he would counter Albedo would be that he degrades her armor faster than Sebas could, Albedo wins against Sebas through sheer attrition and outtanking his self-sufficiency, and as for Sebas beating Cocytus I was never really sure how that worked (again not well versed with their builds) but I assumed it was some sort of specialization of monks to go against those who wield weapons.

The katana and great sword is pretty easy, Katanas are light weight and very sharp to cut flesh and bone Great Swords are heavy with a somewhat sharp edge and is used to crush armor and bodies that it can’t cut through, and focus the damage to a small area for maximizing the damage.

The helmet likely wasn't included because it'd make the character less recognizable, and the white dragon bone is likely a form of a mage armor. Logically that should be given to something along the lines of a hex blade sorcerer. High wits, magic weapon, and spells to help you create distance. As an armor I think it's fine. In my opinion the person who would be the best person to wear it would have been the traveler with the frost blade but no one is exactly thinking that logically. Rock paper scissors: Cocyutus has 4 arms (he even mentions using 4 weapons to fight normally when fighting the lizard men) Albedo could take three of sebas's best attacks and then one shot him (speculation) Sebas can probably self sustain more than we see as well as use some form of magic to create distance when necessary and or he has greater burst damage than we at first thought But unless it gets explained more this could also just be a lie told within nazzarick and that the three are on more or less equal footing but the lie is told to root out possible traitors. It's easier for someone to think "oh I just need to convince two people to over throw the third major guardian and then betray ainz." while ignoring the absolute loyalty that they have to Ainz

I agree 100% on the helmet. That's a common thing in movies, especially about war and stuff where the important characters won't cover their head to stay recognizable. If Cocytus attacks simultaneously, I still think he won't finish Albedo cause HP (3 attacks absorbed, 1 goes trough) Sebas won't buff Gennungagap too much, because he relies on many weaker attack that heal him (traditional monk) He def should have burst, but he is smart enough not to start with that. I don't think it's that deep, but it just confuses me a bit

⁠​⁠@@mahistvits likely that we just havent seen enough of their arsenal to explain the RPS. For instance cocytus likely has some form of AOE ice magic which is weak enough to not buff gennungagap crazy but strong enough to break all 3 easily. This means albedo basically needs to one shot him or she’ll lose because of no armor. Sebas is a close range fighter and thus albedo who can fly likely just has natural counters to him. Even if he can fly albedo is built to be a tank and her stats by comparison are just way crazier. Sebas has practically no MP so he is relying purely on skills and fists. Cocytus gets rolled by sebas because cocytus cant fly, and his armor just sucks when fighting equal opponents.

@@mahistv ⁠lemme try, so as far I know defense in overlord works like this: If you have 2000 hp and 500 armor rating, when someone hits you with a damage of 700, you take only 200 (because the defense cancels out the part of the damage) and you land at 1800. So someone doing 700 damage to you over and over would take them 10 hits to kill you. Now what about 900 damage? 5 hits. It would take half as long to take you down just by doing 30% more damage. Sebas cant overcome albedo’s defenses. He does sustained damage, yes. But that damage is exponentially more insignificant against higher armor rating. So if Cocytus does 1000 damage and sebas does 700, that extra 300 is not a mere 40% damage increase, it’s actually 250% damage increase. This works vise versa also. Let’s create a scenario: cocytus is doing 1000 damage, has 1150 hp and 200 armor. (Glass cannon) Albedo has 2000 hp 600 armor and does 425 damage. (Tank) Sebas has 1850 hp 400 armor and does 600 damage. (Balanced) Who wins against who? It would take Cocytus 4 hits to take down albedo. It would take albedo 5 hits. Cocytus wins. It would take sebas 3 hits to take down Cocytus, and it would take 4 for Cocytus to take down sebas. Sebas wins against Cocytus. Sebas doesn’t have high enough damage to even scratch albedo in this scenario. While albedo does. Yes, obviously this scenario is not exact… but it’s meant to convey the concept: Sebas doesn’t have high enough dps to reliably damage albedo. Albedo doesn’t have high enough damage to reliably damage Cocytus, at least not before he gets here. And Cocytus does not have the armor necessary to weather sebas’s attacks.

@ 2:50 Yes, it was likely actually a damage type. Great swords deal hacking damage. Likely while in contact, and bonus if fully hacking through a limb. This makes them ideal for trolls and other large monsters where you can hack through a lot of flesh. Continuous damage while in motion. Off the top of my head displayed by Gazef Vs. Angel. Katana's deliver an instance of slashing damage. We do see occasionally that slashing damage from katana can also sever limbs, though, it's almost always in around 30+ level disproportionate range. Maybe there is also limb damage limits, exceed that and depending on the damage type, that limb is lost. Have a good one.

The canon trifecta pretty much goes as follows: Cocytus has passive frost aura which slows folk. Albedo is already slowest of the punch and can't deal with the further slow and her own passive doesn't work if you can't hit. And our dragon sebas tian can just defrost so cocytus passive doesn't work, leaving the fastest of the group at top. In the other end, sebas doesn't have the damage to overcome the passive defense system of albedos armor so that slugfest is from the start against him and the longer it goes, more damage albedo stacks up.

I think the Sebas, Cochytus, Albedo loop is missing a lot of information on the characters and was likely originally thought up before outfiting them with respective gear. I don't think most of Sebas' actual toolkit is formally addressed. As far as I'm aware it might be tied to how each of them has a leaning in stats with Albedo being among the most defensive innately, Cochytus has the highest raw attack stats, and Sebas being one of the best all around units (and possibly a dragon?)

The reason why the Canon version is the way that it is is because the world item that ains gave her was not originally intended in her kit hence the reason why the burst damage counters her and the reason why sebis counters our favorite bug man despite the fact that he won't be able to make advantage with the fact that he will regen as it goes on he is able to stall the fight a considerable number with his second form / transformation at least that's my understanding of it

I guess the katakana could be used for piercing as the platin dragon lord's great sword doesn't have a point but a rounded tip, the katakana could also be used for more speed and precision as the great sword is very large and probably slower than the katana

The way she reacts to seeing Climb is just too weird and I'm pretty sure even with his new fancy technique Brain could not have trimmed Shaltear's nail. Am I wrong?

Quite wrong. It's later revealed in the anime why Shalltear backs off after seeing Climb, Renner was indeed already assisting with the plan, and during the briefing for that specific operation, Demiurge gets an update from a Shadow Demon(or a Message spell, can't remember exactly) and then he adds at the end of the briefing that should anyone spot Climb, then they must allow him to live, and escape. It's Renner's condition for assisting with the plan. There's no real reason to believe Brain is unable to trim Shalltear's nail, nor is there any real evidence to present that he can other than the fact that he did. Also, I'm pretty sure at that time, Renner was busy with something else, though I do not remember what exactly.

I think the rock paper and sizor metaphor applies to character abilities and stats, but the weakness can me covered up by perticular designer equipment which is insanely expensive Ainze's game was basically a Glorified gatch like my fav game Genshin

My understanding of the rock paper scissors situation is that it doesn't account for world items, and Cocyutus has enough damage power to kill Albedo whereas Sebas doesn't. She can tank Sebas's damage and eventually win by exhausting his healing. Sebas beats Cocyutus because he has just enough tankability and damage to beat cocyutus before cocyutus kills him.

Did you know that you can actually find some information on shalltear bloodfallen white outfit if you play the game Langrisser they had a crossover event in which they provided different abilities for there separate classes not sure if it’s canon but it’s a cool tidbit of information if you want to look it up.

For context they only covered albedo shaltear and the dark lord ainz owal goan shaltear with both armor and base, shaltear with blood armor and white dress appearance and ainz in his cloak base royal clothes and the monk clothes. I only have ainz sadly but I do now a few who have all three ssr characters sad.

You said sebas was a sustain fighter if this means he has a good mix of attack and def instade of heal so it makes sense as he could tank a couple hits from cocytus and deal good enough damge to get throght cocytuses bad defense but for albeado he couldnt deal enough damage to get through it but she could slowly widdle him down and cocytus has more damge than albeados defence so he can kill her quickly before she can

I believe that there are a few corrections to be made. I am currently reading the light novel, and you maybe missed but probably just didnt mention a few things about the dragon bone armor. First of all, it is one of the four great treasures, along with frost pain, the endless cheap booze barrel and a fourth one i dont know. Maybe the clay golem ritual? Maybe just unmentioned and forgotten? Who knows. Anyways, the dragon bone armor(from here on - bone armor) is a full body suit of armor made from draconic bones. So far so good. But, its main thing is that its hardness depends on the users intelligence score. Still good. What you forgot to mention is that a person with average intelligence would not survive after putting it on. That is because it drains intelligence from its wearer the moment it is put on. If you do not have enough intelligence, you will just lose brain function and die. And even if you dont, unless you are literally a genius, you will be reduced to a brainless walking shield. Sure, that armor might become tougher than anything the lizardmen have ever seen, but the downside is the loss of iq that will cripple you in the best case scenario and outright kill you in the worst. In the LN it is stated that the fact the current user of the bone armor can speak in sentences after putting on the armor speaks volumes about his intelligence before putting it on. Also, when you take the armor off you dont get your intelligence back, so usually the lizardman who survives the iq drop wears it until he dies from old age. Because no natural thing can so much as lay a finger on the pure mithril boulder that is the fully charged armor. And about the cocytus scene, what did you thing was going to happen? Its a lvl 100 character specifically built to be a nuker going up against a lvl 10 lizard in a lvl40 suit of armor. Sure, lvl10 is pretty high in the new world, and lvl 40 is like 10 levels above the human limit, but to a level 100 character its just as threatening as a slime. Oh, forgot to mention something. The armor, while not worn, becomes refular dragon bones. Its durability is dependant on the users intelligence, but its base stats are that of a low rank frost dragon skeleton.

Also, albedo lest a flower scent on ainzs bed because thats the scent of her perfume. Nazarick has a beauty salon on the ninth level, among other things. Just, think of a big mall. But 80% of it is deadly terrain filled with dangerous monsters. Thats nazarick. Theres a beauty salon, theres a forest, there are public baths divided by gender, theres a bar, a pub, a karaoke bar, a cinema, a beauty salon, a grand library with thousands of books, a treasury so big and expansive it would take an hour to fly through the entry section using an optimal path, and all of these things except for the treasury and the forest are located on the ninth floor. The tenth floor is reserved for the supreme beings. The treasury is not even connected to the rest of the tomb. You know what, im gonna reply again and talk about the treasury.

The treasury is gigantic, it looks like a giant desert of gold, gems, weapont and artifacts. Everything is there. Everything. And the desert look is just because theres so much stuff that the uncountable amount of shelves are filled to the brim with things and the rest are just kind of thrown there. Of course, the most notable thing is the big diсk pile of gold and gems right at the entrance. A power move. Oh, also the air in the entry chamber and the entirety of the golden desert is filled with high level poison that would drain an unsuspecting player of life in seconds. After the giant gold desert, we get to the weapon shelves. Theres no more money and gems and silver framed mirrors anymore. Its just equipment. Loads of swords, bows, staves, armor, necklaces, gaumtlets, bracelets, rings, and all of it is organized on the tightly packed shelves of the second area. The air is still poisonous tho. Then we come to the big black gate. Or was it before the weapon section? AAAAARRRGGGHHHH dammit, i forgot. Well, if it is then the air is not poisonous anymore, i think. Unless pandoras actor is immune to poison. Then the entire treasury has deadly air. Anyways, after the gate is the third area, the one where pandoras actor is, as well as the accurately named "shredder", also known as the exchange box. Its an item that allows you to exchange another item for something of equal value. However, by turning into one of the supreme beings, pandoras actor is able to cheat the system and actually get better items through this method. I do believe it stops working after they hit a certain rarity level. Also, the third area is where the actually good loot is kept. A secret sub-area within the third area houses the world items. Well, the ones that are not in use. And then theres the mausoleum. The place that keeps the memories of the entire guild. The place that ainz put extra care into making. The place that traumatized albedo and made ainz become extra careful with his wording. The place that kills players with the ring of ainz ooal gown equipped. The place that singlehandedly carried the second half of ainzs battle against shalltear. The place that, now that i remember it, connects to the world items area, which is less of a sub area and more of a fourth area of the treasury, where all the extra important things are kept. You know, the world items, the one of a kind drops, the expensive ores, the goddamn silver lined mirror.

For the sabas vs albeto vs cocutus: It’s implied that none of them have world items in their hypothetical fight, so here’s the dumb reason why they counter each other; Albeto beats sebas because she has enough armor to drop sabas before he can drop her. Sabas can beat cocutus because he has enough dps and armor to deal enough damage before frost boi can drop him. And cocutus beats albedo because cocutus has enough dps to get through the armor, while still having enough hp to withstand the wimpy dps of albedo. It’s dumb, but yeah

i don't think you're right about armageddon evil. IIRC, Ulbert wanted to make a replica of a world item that summons an infinite amount of demons, those two statues are his atempt at doing so. [armageddon evil] is actually a tier 10 spell that summons those 6 waves of demons and each gem in those statues cast 1 instance of the spell. So the statue with 3 gems would summon 750 demons total. the golden statue has 6 gems but can only cast 5 instances of the spell, summoning 1250 demons.

regarding the rock paper scissors (albedo Cocytus Sebas) even tho i am not an expert in the lore, Cocytus is supposed to have high sustained damage as well as decent burst damage, and sebas has a dragon form (to my understanding) that gives him higher damage then maybe anyone in nazarick

Albedo < Colcytus because although you downplay his natural body armor, Albedo just doesn't have enough damage output to bypass it and deal serious damage to Colcytus meanwhile he can deal a lot of damage to her because that's his whole build is about, big damage. Sebas can deal enough damage to bypass Colcytus armor and is faster+can self sustain with heal to beat Colcytus in a fight but his damage is not enough to deal with Albedo's heavily defensive build so he will lose to her in a long fight.
