Lisa, please have your parents on, your dad's opinion on all his daughter's business ventures, his thoughts, your mom's insight into you raising your family different than how you were raised. Your husband's though process on your home business and his perspective on raising your family the way you both do, he is always working so hard in background building things or taking kids on trips or homeschooling, it would be such a blessing for him to share this and how your raising so many boys with such a strong hardworking father. Love your solo episodes, feels like a sisterly wisdom, keep them coming, your wise and such a inspiration.

I love this episode-it just feels more like sitting and chatting with you. Our stories are SO similar over the past 15 years- even down to specific details like sewing on Etsy, trying to sell cloth diapers, building websites offline, the embarrassing blog spot blog that’s probably still floating around out there somewhere 🤣 I feel like we are BFFs. This was so encouraging to hear a similar experience and how all the failures turned into success. Our family business is completely different than yours-we sell go karts and parts online, but the idea of home and family and creating an intentional life is still so much part of our business!

I love this so much! So inspiring! I highly recommend your blogging class (and KZbin class) I am finally monetized with Mediavine, and it is all Thanks to you and God! Because I had no clue how to even start. I just knew I needed a place to teach and share my recipes, troubleshooting, etc for my niche. It is funny to think I also started with sewing things and selling on Etsy, cant wait until I can "cut that arm" of the business off, lol. I have been doing that for 8 years. Passive income is truely a blessing. Thanks again! ❤️

I didn’t find your podcast until a week ago! I had boys, yes, boys are created by God to jump, run, yell, be noisy, climb trees, ..in my case, my youngest boy made paths through the woods that connected our property to his best friend’s backyard! They loved being out in the woods, and now when he comes home from his home and family in a town north of Atlanta, he always goes into the woods,he brings home his latest chainsaw and takes down a few trees while they are here! It warmed my heart this Thanksgiving we all were walking on Alan’s “paths” , his daughter ,who is 17 said, “Papa, is there animals in these woods?” “Yes, there are rabbits, squirrels, bird, deer, racoons, chipmunks and bear..” which, at that point, she goes, “nanny and me are going back to the house” . I hated to tell her those same critters were also found in our western Pennsylvania yard!

Hearing about your Christian journey is gold to me. I am a Born Again Christian looking for the return of the Lord, which I feel could happen at any time. I could look at your videos and feel that you are a Christian. It’s refreshing to me. Your KZbin channel is one of the few I have followed. I have learned so much! It’s a joy to continue learning about things you do and use them even though my children are grown. I share recipes with them and ideas you have. I spent the past 17 years caring for my parents. My father, a Baptist Minister died 6 years ago of Alzheimer’s. My mother passed away in July and had some dementia at the end. I feel now I can spend my time learning from people like you about things I would have loved to do when I was younger. It’s a blessing to listen to you and see the things you do. Thank you for your channel. Keep going and God bless you and your entire family.

Oh my goodness, I love this video! I became a mom in 2006, just had baby #7 almost 4 months ago and I did so many similar things over the years. Got into photography, started crocheting hats as it was all the rage for baby photos, I never did try selling any. I remember the really fluffy petti skirts, I made one thinking I’d be able to make and sell on Etsy for $100 but by the time I finished I said never again! I quickly realized why they were so pricey. I tried sewing my own cloth diapers with snaps. I remember Amy Butler fabrics! I tried making a blog about homeschooling and motherhood but I didn’t continue. I wish I had continued trying! I have considered starting a channel but I am so shy and I have zero idea what I would vlog about. I truly enjoy your channel and love all that you share. I think it’s great you kept trying and how it has paid off for you and your family! Very inspiring!

I’ve watched your other channel for a long time now and spotted you doing this podcast! I feel like I’ve been on a similar journey- gathering snippets of business education via a heap of different little businesses along the way. I just still haven’t stumbled on my “thing” yet. But I feel like I’m close. This was really good. I also love how you are just “you” here in the podcast. Whereas on your Boon channel it’s you as a more polished version (which I also love. But nice to see the extra bits of personality here).

Love your words when mentioning making your farmhouse/home is wherever you are living at the time; thanks so much for saying that I feel the same way what is of value is to live a wholesome natural lifestyle, making the best choices when choosing what to eat, how to clean, or decorate, these are the things that make life richer. Having goals is amazing especially when they are joint with your spouse/significant other they have the fuel to become accomplished because you're helping each other stay motivated and continue

I appreciate your openness and feel as though I have learned so much about you as a person. I really enjoyed listening to this podcast. You mentioned how you keep your costs down, that you don't just spend all the money you earn. I appreciate you have no mortgage but I would like an example of the breakdown on your monthly outgoings especially with your focus being on organic produce as well as getting used objects to furnish your beautiful home. Things have become so expensive. Would you be willing to breakdown how much you spend on food (long term and short term storage), fuel, property taxes, home school expenses, homestead equipment and DIY projects? Edited to add I too enjoy cooking from scratch and try to go local and seasonal on fresh produce. But costs have risen rapidly, including fuel. How do you balance these rising prices with everything else. Or have you found that because you mill your own grain, milk your own cow, collect your own eggs, your costs have really changed?

Minus 5 out and the kids don't play outside? Lol Oh good Lord, get them some proper winter outerwear and boot them out the door! Lol They will get used to it, and be grateful. Let them play hockey out on your laneway. Here in Canada, most of the country gets cold to extremely cold. Cold is anything beyong -20 Celsius, and though colder at -25C, you still find some die hard kids, AND adults, out tobogganing, skiing, or playing outdoor hockey (often with a little shed for warm-up or trips in andnout of the house for hot cocoa. Bear in mind that windchill has an effect so the activities mentioned doesn't marn that we go out in -25C on every occurrence. Extremely cold is -25 and over -stay indoors and read or play a game. Lol Thx for your channel Lisa!
