Essentially, I wasn't able to monetize this video because of the music in that clip, which originally didn't bother me; I'd rather have the video as high quality as possible. It's become an issue however because having "inelligible" videos makes your channel unable to run memberships, and that's something I want to do as I'm planning on potentially streaming on youtube in the future. This isn't really a solution I'm happy with, but it's kind of my only option besides re-uploading it with mega man music or something. so sorry about the dead space in the video, and I hope you're able to enjoy the rest of it!

It's kind of sad and stupid, really. My kids and I have been singing this theme for a while, and I promise you we wouldn't have ever heard of this song if it weren't for your video. More so with mega man 2. That one was developed during the devs free time because Mega man 1 didnt sell that well. In the end it turned out to be good decission to give the devs that chance

0:40 Basically what's happening here is that platforms that hold you in the air (i.e the guts man lifts, footholder enemies and magnet beam) keep your downward velocity going while you're standing on them, with the platform serving as the only thing to prevent you from falling. As such, once you fall off the platform, you'll go down way faster than you normally would because of how much downward velocity you got from just standing on that platform. Why these platforms work this way is beyond me, but that's the mechanical reason behind it.

I don't think it was pointed by someone else, but from what I've heared, the "weird gravity" is due to the game thinking you're still falling (even though you're clearly on the platform), thus increasing your falling speed as it was programmed to do. Also 4:18 / 6:32, the duality of man.

The DOS game actually has a interesting history. It was a labor of love by a big fan of the NES games that the dev made by himself and Capcom of America sold it because it was basically a free game.

0:41 2:51 7:45 Oh god I think I know EXACTLY why that happens, as the same kind of thing has happened to me when programming platformer engines: Megaman's vertical speed is still being increased by gravity when he's standing on the platform (but prevented from actual movement due to the platform's solidity, meaning that when he falls off of it he falls as if he'd been freefalling for as long as he was standing on it. With the actual ground on the right however, his vertical speed is properly set to 0 when he's on it, so that when he falls off he falls starting from 0 speed. TLDR: The game thinks Megaman is still falling when he's on a sprite-based platform, so when he walks off of it he drops as if he'd been falling for as long as he was standing on the platform

My guy literally skipped the creator training arc. xD I'm actually kinda jealous. It took me years to get where i am making comics on DA and my oldest stuff is so cringe to go back to.
