Random comments to random comments... "Why are old guys watching my videos?" Your vids popped up when I first started collecting house plants and your experience was a couple years more than mine and I found your videos easy to follow as opposed to following an Expert. Also, you remind me of one of my favorite people. Before the pandemic, I spent lots of time with my niece. After the pandemic, and being 19, her life is full and our visits are few. I am one of those people who will play your videos in the background of my life simply for the pure joy of hearing your ramblings and stories. Thanks for that. "Should I write a book?" I feel that if you approached a book the way you edit a Q&A, it would be a big hit. The way you wander off subject and speak Your Truth, is entertaining and joyful. Thanks again.

I put stress coat (a quarter tsp per gallon) in my tap water and it has helped A LOT! Stress coat dechlorinates and is supposed to remove dissolved metals and other impurities. Stress coat is what folks who keep fish add to the water that the fish live in.

Orchid nut here 🤚 you can cut the spike off on the orchid, it won’t rebloom from the same spike. I would wait to repot when you see new “bulb” starting to emerge. That way if any roots get damaged in the repot you’ll know there will be a fresh batch coming in from the new growth.

@wildfern I've had a really bad day, A really bad day. Plus a migraine and I fell asleep watching videos. But then I woke up. Saw you had a new video and watched it. Then I was so upset by something you said. I just wanted to take the time to encourage you.. Maybe you don't have a big sister or an auntie to tell you these things. But You Need To Hear This!!! When you said you wanted to get rid of some plants because the family was coming and you didn't want to look crazy, It broke my heart. 😢 You should be so proud of yourself!!!! You are succeeding at something and started a successful career and business for yourself and you're so young. You've made a real name for yourself. This is your job !!!! Plants are your job and career!!! ❤ Yes, you have a lot of them, but people would not be as interested if you didn't have so much.. Of course who you are is a big part where people tune in. But people also want to see a variety of things. And how they grow... And how they're growing for you and what you're doing. The more you have to show off, the better. The more you have, the more content you have. You and your boyfriend should say so. You both should be so proud and his family should be proud too. You are a real catch. I've seen you. We all have through some heartbreak. But it looks like you've come through that. I think this is a very good year for you. You are succeeding in something you didn't even go to school for, In fact it's quite the opposite. You are living the american dream, I know you're not american, but you know what I mean. I can't think of one person who wouldn't want the thing that brings them the most joy to be their career! How amazing., Never be ashamed. You rock it, you Should look his family straight in the eye And tell them how proud you are of yourself. How happy you are to have success and a career. You love so much. .. That is also your passion. You're able to stay home, not have to work with a bunch of asshole associates. Instead, you get to sit in your living room. And you are not a lazy girl, you get up very early and work very hard. They might not understand it at first, but if you explain it, they will. You get to be at home with your dogs.. The best associates in the world. And they don't have to go to like doggy day care. You are literally living the dream. I would love to be able to show off my plants and have the guts to go in front of the camera like you do. It takes a lot of guts And also, you're totally real and a sweetheart. You are a successful entrepreneur, And don't you forget it.😊 To be honest years and years ago, when I started watching your channel, I didn't watch that often. I don't think you showed your true self, Quite like you do now. You are very peaceful to watch, I think you've really come into yourself. How I never miss an episode. your true self is very lovable and adorable And you can tell you're completely confident. Look them straight in the eye... If you are confident, they will believe it and they will be proud of you. Hopefully, your boyfriend does the same and gushes about how amazing it is that you have been successful in this. only A very small percentage of the people that try become successful in youtube. All the other plant tubers. I watch must watch you too. Because I've heard them comment, about your videos here and there. You're not crazy. You're actually a miracle. God bless, sweetheart. I know it's gonna go great. Cause who wouldn't love you. ❤

I have had the same issue with my Florida Ghost, and what helped for me was moving her further away from the light. That made the leaves start turning minty/green again, I was so relieved!
@GB-vw6kr6 ай бұрын
Yup! Mine was originally only putting out green leaves, then I moved it into a southeast facing window and she started putting out white ghosty leaves! Then she put out TOO many white leaves that didn't revert, so I moved her behind my curtain and the leaves are minting off now! One of the few plants with variegation that changes depending on light level.

I think I commented about not watering calathea with tap water under that previous video. It's honestly what has worked for me too so i second that notion. Although I use rainwater and that works aswell. It's the chemicals that are used to clean the tap water that are too harsh for the cells in the thin leaves.
@zoeyeliz6 ай бұрын
Yes, the water thing is so tricky! I have a handful of ctenanthe & carnivorous plants, and because I have well water (no chloramine/fluoride) I was also watering them with my tap water, however well water can still have a lot of minerals and dissolved solids, my TDS is around 70-120ppm depending on temperature of the water. I recently switched to watering them with water from a ZeroWater pitcher which removes pretty much everything. On the new growth I think I'm already seeing less brown/crispy tips and edges.

So happy to hear Mooncat sponsoring you. Love the colour you are currently wearing!!! Love your Maranta - Silver Band. So beautiful, especially flowering. I use rain water on all my Calatheas. I'm here for keeping the plants that bring you joy and not every plant for the sake of it! I've embraced attending plant swaps and leaving things on the freebie table in the last year, and it's a weight off my mind to not have a "eh" section of plants I don't love but don't want to throw away. But if I don't have time, it's to the curb.

First off that new leaf on that Anthirium Libianum is beautiful 😍 second, your orchids might start growing more and bloom if you water them with black tea mixed in to whatever you're feeding them. I have a phalaenopsis orchid in rehab that I've been using black tea mixed with used aquarium water and it's grown sooo many roots back since I've started using it. Great tour Fern if your looking to thin or your jungle I suggest doing like I did and make a Facebook post offering up few plants.
