I Haven't Even Made A Payment [2023 Canyon 1000 Mile Review]

We have completed our first thousand miles and I wanted to take a few minutes to give you guys my honest impression of the truck.
Honestly, its been great but I'm starting to notice some things.
There's alot to cover and i dont need to bore you with them here in the video description. Ive had my AT4 Canyon for about 6 months now.Almost 6 thousand miles.Great truck.Have to agree with you on the paint job.Could and should be much better.Everything else has been super.Averaging 21 miles to the gallon on those almost 6 thousand miles.

Hopefully my mileage gets better just picked up my 2023 ZR2 3 days ago first tank of gas 6.4 Mi to the gallon for the first 150 MI average 11.4 by the end of the first tank

Bought a 2023 AT4 in Sept and ended up selling it for $6000 more than I paid. Bought a Ram 1500 sport for the same as the canyon. I really enjoyed the canyon. My only issue was size. if it was much better on fuel I would have kept it but the Ram hemi gets the same or better fuel. Nice video! nice truck. Hands down the best truck in the midsize market

I have a crew cab Ram 1500, built to serve. Very spacious/comfortable truck but I get a measly ass 10.9 mpg. It’s also been to the dealership 4 times for the check engine light, already on a lemon law case for it. If it goes through, I’m more than likely getting this Canyon or Colorado even though I’m giving up space in the back.

I love the look of the new redesigned Colorado and Canyon, the 3rd generation. The new Canyons look TOUGH, but I prefer the lines of the Colorado Trail Boss, its the cheapest mid level off roader, so I'm going to get one in a few years. Can't wait as they look great.

I looked at the payments and features and went with the at4. Let the leases run out and scoop a low mile one asap in a couple years. That way you let the issues flesh themselves out and all the warranty work handled.

Love my black 2023 Canyon Elevation. Best truck i have ever owned. My 2wd gets 18 in the city and 23 hwy, 20 combined. Got 7k miles on it with zero issues.

Have you noticed your mpg going up over time?

@BadlandIndustries oh yea. After about 3k miles, it was getting better. Also, once I started accelerating easier and coasting up to stop lights and changing my aggressive driving habits, gas mileage started to get better. My 2wd probably weighs a bit less than the 4 wheel drive models which may help mileage a bit more, also.

@BadlandIndustries basically, I set my TRIP milage number on the day I bought it and after 7,500 miles, it reads at 17.8 mpg, overall mileage, and my driving situation is about 60% HWY and 40% city driving. I am fine with that, but the times that I am being on my best behavior with the gas pedal I get the better milage figures as mentioned at the start of this post. For what it's worth, enjoy your awsome looking ride.

I do like the Colorados tail lights better! I spent over 10k less than this truck, I was gonna get one but the economy is scary now and I’ll have my Colorado TB payed off in 3 months, I did get my TB loaded with everything you can get including tow package, and got it calibrated to the 430 torque! 41k

2:16 That’s not a stake pocket, that’s the handle you grab when you use the step bumper ✌️their only two one on each side! They actually work great to climb in back of bed since these trucks are pretty tall for a midsize!

I am actually waiting for my Colorado Z71. But about the stupid all windows down button. Why the hell didn't GM make that a switch for the back sliding window. Unless you open it before you get in or you have a back passenger (if you have one that can reach) open it for you. But to reach it from the front is ridiculous. Total failure on GM. I also have a question about the lights. I drive with my fog lights on and head lights at night. Do the fog lights turn on automatically with the head lights if you set them to on in the settings? Or do you have to go in and turn them on every time? I do like the interior look of the Canyon better than the Colrado. And the blue is almost the same color as my 2017 ZL1 Hyper Metallic Blue.

The window is a little bit of a fail not being powered but I'm sure we might be able to retro something. As for the fogs, they are controlled separately.

I have been in 3gen tacomas and 5th gen 4runners. I have not been in the 4th gen tacoma but I feel the interior looks to be on par. The new tacomas are a bit over-done at least in the high trims.

That’s not a stake pocket, their are only two of them, they are grab handles to use when you step on the rear bumper step, I used mine and it makes it a lot easier to get in the bed!

I dont mind it. Being 6'4" I'd never find myself in the back seat where it would be a little less. I have my seat as low as it'll go and there's plenty of headroom.

Great video! on my 2023 elevation 2000 miles, I still have no working cruise control radar/ gap control. I'm disappointed in the factory paint job, lots of imperfections and particulates in the paint. How's you lane assist? Mine is sketchy. Did the manufacture contact you to let you know when to update?

Paint for us is the biggest complaint. Most everything else works as expected. We had a couple issues with the collision assistance but that seems to have resolved itself.

I work at a GM bodyshop. All these canyons and colorados have dirt from factory. Just leave it, it will be fine. I have one also and it has same defects. Sometimes it makes it worse to nib and buff, you may break thru and have to repaint. Not worth it!! Leave it alone.
