Fatima- Yes, after sheltering in place on our 350 acre farm for two years, I thought it would be huge to start getting out. It really wasn't. I still don't feel comfortable in public spaces and could not wait to get home! We plan to go 🏊⛺camping in NH/VT/ME and travel to a few outdoor places, like our beautiful New Hampshire 🌊⛵ coastline. I'm dedicating this year to making our still unfinished farm cottage a home we totally enjoy!

Isn’t it wonderful when you can love home? There was a time in my life when home wasn’t a happy place. Now I love home and it’s a wonderful feeling. We are slowing getting our homestead where we want it. This is what I’ve worked towards my entire adult life.

Sweet Jess, Vacations with all your kids are a blessing because they grow up so fast. I will say, there really isn't any thing better than being back in your own house once done with your vacation. Wait there is one thing better......sleeping in your own bed. You can't find a bed like the one at home for total comfort. Your garden beds look beautiful!!!

Coming in loud and clear here. The sunflowers are pretty special and the garden is looking full of life. Here in Phoenix AZ the garden is such a hard go to get a harvest. I await fall. Lazarus was an excellent suggestion for the revived high tunnel.

As someone who has one son who is on his own and another one who will probably be on his own in about another year, I can tell you that even though it's hard to plan family vacations, you will never regret having done so. Once your kids are on their own, family time actually needs to be planned well ahead of time!

I just want to put my gratitude out here. I got not contaminated soil but what was supposed to be bulk potting soil and turn out to be junk soil. I got home from vacation to just be so disappointed but not defeated. We have more 100 days left so I went to a local nursery and had a great conversation. My 15 yo son and I decided we would do what we could to support our new 6 raised beds and put in the work today. Even if it’s not as successful as we hope, we spent quality time together out in the sun and putting good vibes into the garden and world today. So thank u for the inspiration! It’s meaningful and appreciated!❤️

I do love home too! My family did lots of vacations that were simple when the kids were younger. Now adults, my husband and I escape together only once a year when our daughters can mind the homestead. But we do stay home vacations more to get big projects accomplished since we all work full time away from home. Your garden is lovely, wild and so productive. I ate my first green bean yesterday while watering and have 6 beds to plant today now that 1/2 the potatoes have been harvested. Bring on more basil!

Hi Jess, wow the sunflowers look so beautiful. Mike and I took a day trip to a local farm and they grow sunflowers. We filmed on our channel. We are in a major drought this year and it's been over 100 and no rain for 30+ days. Temps as high at 110. Farmers are devastated and most all corn in central Texas did not make it. Good to see you had a vacation and time to enjoy. Please say a prayer for us to get some rain. God Bless you and your family. Rochelle

I'm about two hours south of you in SC and transplanted Roma tomatoes into our garden in march. Doing them early allowed us to harvest about 10 gallons by Fourth of July ( this is out first year gardening so hopefully we will get more in future years). I pulled them out and replaced them with beefsteak starts and am eager to see if we get a harvest off of them. Depending on how they do, we might plant beefsteaks first next year and follow them up with Romas since they have a longer maturing time. All of that to say, the amounts of rain we've been having didn't have the chance to hurt out tomatoes but I hope you guys get a great harvest and they don't get too many blemishes.

I Love that welcoming feeling of home. Well before our final trip to TN and home was still up north, I couldn’t wait to move more stuff down to TN. Once we got off of the highway just past Richmond KY my heart swelled and felt overwhelmed by peace knowing we were heading to our new home. We visit fam in NJ and PA and the city/suburban gets to me quickly and I long for home where it’s peaceful and I’m surrounded by my forest and gardens.
