I've played an Isle of Mann only challenge before and what I like to do is as soon as I become a Duke/Jarl I change the succession law to Scandinavian Elective. For RP purposes I was trying to do it so that every ruler of the island would be a female giant and it was the only way to do it since Asatru is male preference.

Only way to survive is to kidnapping priests from large realms (high income priests) or with priests with stackings gold (gold will be inherit)-just recruit priest first time from prison to your court, then imprison second time and banish. 1000-2000 from one priest is very powerful instead searching infinite hooks. In 1100 will be persons with 10000 gold). With traditions on mercenaries you are strong to defend even without alliances

So this video actually helped me understand men-at-arms and why I shouldn't neglect them the way I do. I almost always forget about them, and then I have a huge army that gets decimated and until now I could never figure out why. I am sure at some point the game explained it to me, but there's so much to this game some stuff goes over my head. Excited to focus more on men-at-arms and see if it actually helps me be more successful in wars. Thanks for the video!

just so you know, while raiding you don't have to keep selecting your army to move them, if they are highlighted you can click the next area to go to and after raiding they will move there.
@RowRowFightThePowaa2 жыл бұрын
What ?? Can you describe this I don't get it.
@dragonsblaze79612 жыл бұрын
@@RowRowFightThePowaa When you raise your army click on them, then choose their destination, once they start raiding they are locked in, if you haven't clicked anything else you can click their next target and they'll automatically head their once their current target is finished. Helps because while they are raiding you can hover over settlements to see which has the most gold and send them there.

just wanted to say thanks for posting this video, along with the one county one, it really helped me as a new player understand some of the tactics even though that probably wasn't your intention, i was about to give up on KZbin vids for CK3 because every single one was 3hrs long and the creator just yacked on spouting nonsense without teaching anything whatsoever, its like every video for "beginners" on CK3 wants me to yeet my laptop out the window in rage from the hours of dribble and clickbait nonsense. gosh i hate KZbin, I've no idea why your videos don't display in the top, because my god... the ones that do are horrific. Pro tip, get the Viking trait on your character, even if they suck at martial because you get a prestige bonus. Also raiding the papacy is an easy prestige farm because the pope will always raise an army and fight you. Plus he only will be able to raise 2000 men. And big loot as well.

@jeremiahfink77602 жыл бұрын
Actually I think you can raid as long as you like with this decision if I'm not mistaken. To raid you need one of two things: a tribal government or you follow an unreformed faith. With this decision it lets you bypass the requirement to reform your faith to become a feudal government type. So you get access to all the juicy innovations while still being able to raid 👍.

elevating the kingdom of man and the isles is probably the most powerful decision in the game. not just for the benefits in the mön, but since ALL your tribal holdings become feudal you save a ton of gold. for the people not doing a one county challenge you can also get strathclyde, the southern isles and the northern isles as a de jure part of your kingdom if you hold them when you make the decision.
@zjpdarkblaze2 жыл бұрын
Become genghis khan is stronger but short term.
@NemoA902 жыл бұрын
@@zjpdarkblaze yeah becoming the greatest of khans is really strong, but only for your current character. sure, your heirs can inherit what you conquer, but not the raw power. the army of 7500 you get with the kingdom of man and the isles is pretty much icing on the cake. 100 years of the stolen city is incredible and the +20 development usually puts you on par with rome or constantinople. the foundations you get with man and the isles is so much stronger in the long run that i think it overshadows the greatest of khans.

30:25 If you're looking for gold, Canterbury is the best place around there. Usually holds around 60-70 gold in just the temple holding. My favourite tactic when I'm a weak raider is wait until Wessex is at war and when their army is elsewhere just get in there and snipe it. Plus what Viking wouldn't love sacking a Catholic holy site for RP purposes?

I’ve never played this game but I looks really fun. I have 2 questions 1. Why do you disband your army so often? 2. Is this specific gameplay strategy hard to execute?
@walterusalbus Жыл бұрын
1. Because you have to disband your army after wars. It costs a lot to maintain them as active troops. You also can't declare war if your troops are actively raised. 2. It depends. Its easier to have more land. If youre playing as the island of Mann or a viking like he did then this is easy.

a suggestion for raiding with such large armies: Do not put it in one giant raid stack, the supply issue will lead to unnecessary losses. Instead, for the example of your army, 2 stacks of 2500 sent to either different areas to maximize efficiency, or sent close together to maintain numbers advantage, would let you take home much more loot. Your stack's losses due to mostly starvation sent the possible 870 total to 600 something.
