I can identify with the boy. I hate canned corn and will avoid dishes with loose kernels of corn for fear it has that gross canned corn flavor. Few people take the extra step of ringing the kernels before putting inside dishes. Of course it’s possible they shaved the kernels off of the cob, but why take the risk when you know canned is more likely used

The reason many kids dislike foods is a sensory/texture issue - by transforming them (like the mushroom “chips”) you can get kids to try a much wider variety of foods

Once I saw a children’s nutritionist say that instead of saying like “oh you don’t like carrots” it’s more helpful to say “you don’t like carrots this way” “those carrots that way”, I don’t have children so don’t know how it would be, but for me it seemed like a good approach, you know? I mean, even as adults we have our preferences, my brother for example loves raw endives, but is really not a fan when they’re cooked, so it’s not that he doesn’t like endives, it’s that he doesn’t like them in certain ways...

Personally, I have a deeply ingrained sense that being picky at the table is rude. If someone cooks for you (including your mother), I can't IMAGINE saying "eemmm.. I don't like this" 😳. Especially unimaginable in adults. But that's just my upbringing.

My son was the same way with corn when he was little. Basically, he only ate it when it was in season and on the cobb. He was a very picky eater and would only eat certain foods. It was a nightmare until he grew out of that. I'm a picky eater myself so I couldn't get too upset about it but some things were like, really buddy? To this day he absolutely hates mushrooms and will not eat them and he's 26 now. Without even seeing me cooking them he could smell them when I was sauteeing them in a pan with other things like onions and spices.

It's really funny how your brain affects your food interests. I remember when I was younger there would be occasional foods that I say I don't like and thus just don't eat it. But if I ate it I'd think it tastes okay or it's good but still force myself not to eat it because I made a statement for myself 😂

It could help to discuss the difference between taste and texture. It took me until adulthood to be able to understand that I like mushroom flavor, I like onion flavor, etc. But I don't like the texture. So now I can eat both so long as the texture isn't there. so now I'm cooking with onions most meals, but I cut them pretty small and they always get soft so there's no vegetal crunch(hated by me) and it's too small to get too slimy.

Now I love squash. Turns out, my aunt prefers her vegetables cooked until they’re mushy. Weird.

Hannah Hi! I'm from Venezuela, for your corn problem, I can recommend one of our national dishes that it's called CACHAPA, is made out of corn blended with milk and flour sugar and salt, it is like a pancake but you need to eat it with cheese like fresh mozzarella cheese (the type of mozzarella for Caprese salad) or something like that type of texture! Maybe that way Wyatt will enjoy eating corn out of the cob! Hope you try it!

Henry gets so cute in every video, I love him so much! Hannah isn’t the worlds ok-est mom anymore, she’s the worlds greatest mom with Henry and the other kids.

Definitely agree adding veggies to chocolate and cheese (my 2 fav foods) and frying it up with butter are excellent ways to make them palatable 😜😃🏆

Is anyone confused that there’s a lady that looks exactly like Hannah who’s behind the kids while she’s filming them? 😂😂😂😬

my parents tried to do this to me all the time and still do lol. i’m not a fan of cheese. if i can avoid it, i do. the only cheesy things i like are pizza (specifically with meat on it) and nachos. i’m a pretty picky eater aside from cheese so they’re constantly trying to find something i like. i’m glad that these kids can be more open to food and aren’t refusing like i used to 😂

Okay. I LOVE that you spelled "moist." It isn't a trigger word for me, but it makes me happy that you thought of others.

For the cheese dip, you should try mashing the boiled bits of corn and then add it to the cheese dip as a paste. Maybe then they wouldn't notice it too much
