Yeah, he was truly a legendary baseball coach. Led LSU to a few national titles in his time there and recently retired if I'm not mistaken.

At this level the coach understands that the difference between this level and highschool is the same as the difference between driving a battery powered toy barbie car and a real car. While they both have 4 wheels and you are technically driving them both the skills are not exactly transferable.

@@tehweezled them to 1 Natty(which is more than most can say) and 2 title appearances. Not terrible in 14 years but LSU still wasn’t fully past the Skip Bertman phase, a guy who was one of the greatest college baseball coaches ever so it wasn’t enough to a lot of fans as the years carried on. Didn’t help that he won a title early on in his tenure and never won another. Basically the Les Miles of the program but for baseball.

Because it's the coaches job to make decisions and if you lie to him he won't have accurate information to make the best decision, so it's understandable why a coach would still be mad even if they ended up winning, it's not like every time this guy gets to bat his team will win, he easily could have just got lucky because even the good hitter only hit on average 30-40% of the time and he got 4 hits in probably 4 or 5 at bats

I have loads of respect for Coach Molinari. My family was at the SEC tournament in Bham a few years back and the teams take BP in a spot level with the concourse and teams walk thru the stadium to the field. LSU came down and my 3 year old deck out in her UF cheerleader outfit had just learned the gator chomp and was chomping everyone coming by, Paul actually stopped on his way down gave her a high-five and made some funny faces to make her laugh. Absolute class from the coach, nothing but respect from this Gator fan!

You hear it more often in sports. Like telling your coach you’re not injured when you are, just to stay in the game. If it works out, it works out! Most of the time it’s more like “well thanks for not telling me”

@@CrispyBuda he's a pitcher. Not sure why they didn't have someone else hit but coach told him to hit and just stand there. Todd wanted to swing so he told the coach he hit bombs in high school which was a lie. His coach wouldn't let him hit in high school. He gets up to bat and first pitch he smashes it and hits it off the wall for a double. It's just weird to see a pitcher who doesn't ever hit get up to bat and smash the first pitch and damn near hit a home run.
