Katniss only voted to restart the hunger games because in exchange Coin would allow her to kill Snow, and Katniss knows that when she kills Coin the whole "restart the hunger games" idea will go down the gutter, its made very obvious in the text lol. Plus katniss spends the trilogy very very confused and distressed about the love triangle because she does love gale but not in the way that he wants. Her "leading him on" is literally her dealing with constant trauma and wanting comfort from one of the few people who she trusts Also Nina wasnt ever a sex worker, her clients hired her to use her magic on them. Also Matthias spends most of SOC trying to kill Nina, i definitely dont think her behaviour is half as bad as his

Honestly I would need to re-read the hunger games for that because It's been a long ass time but I can see myself missing that completely. I understand that Nina never did the sex work, it doesnt change the fact that she was considered a prosititute and lived surrounded by that even if she never engaged in it, she still had that knowledge over Matthias and used it against him and actively says she he is more fun completely oblivious. She treated him like a toy and I didn't like that part of her character

I completely agree with you and i have to say there were many points in which i completely disagreed with the creator of the video...i think the main reason for that was she focused too much on the complexity of each character instead of the motives or ideal propogated by the book itself...spoiler alert humans are complex and the whole point of writing a book is to write characters that can reflect that honestly and at least THG and TSOC does that really well so yea...i disagree with the creator on that basis

I'm so glad im not the only one that thinks Jude and Cardan's relationship was just off-putting. Like the whole romance between them during the whole series was the thing I hated the most about the books, like I just can't with Cardan he's simply horrendous. It made me realize I in fact don't like enemies to lovers trope, I like rivals (that just dislike eachother and bicker around NOT TRY TO KILL AND ASSAULT EACHOTHER) to lovers.

I had to force myself to keep reading The Cruel Prince after the scene where Cardan is like “I’m mean to you because I like you so much!” (definitely not the exact quote but you get the point) It just disgusted me so much I didn’t even want to finish it 😭

Not you calling Katniss who is a severely traumatized child who had to fight to the death and kill other children and watch other children get killed a bad person for “leading gale on” she said she knew he loved her because she saw him as her BEST FRIEND, and Gale is basically the reason her sister died also, y’all Gale lovers are weird
@Luluandherbooks7 ай бұрын
I have no strong feelings for Gale tbh but I have alot of love for the hunger games as a whole. Thanks for bringing this up because I did NOT interpret that scene that when when I read it the firs time and how i remember it bevery much reflects my mindset at the time

Locke and Taryn made Cardan look nice that says it all 😂. It's very funny to me because Cardan is very bad at killing anyone or scheming. But Jude can't stop doing all those things which evens their relationship out in my opinion. It's fun to read about the drama

It's like episodes of trashy reality tv but they have actual reasons to be mad at eachother🤣

I loved that Jude was the stronger one. We rarely ever see that in fantasy books, romantasy or not. The girl being stronger and more cunning I mean.

Idk if I ‘love’ it, I just think It was better then her ending up with Locke 😅

This video makes no sense 😭 of course the child abuse Severin faced is problematic its child abuse thats framed as terrible by the narration, and is a huge part of why Severin is tye way he is, its not like its there for no reason 😭 same with the Jude and Carden romance like yeah its literally enemies to lovers, if you didnt want them to actually hate each other why did you think youd like the book
@Luluandherbooks8 ай бұрын
I never said i hated these books but these are things in these books that i wasn't necessarily comfy with. Problematic by definition is that it constitutes presenting a problem or difficulty. And these tho g swerve difficult for to wrap my head around because who would be ok with these things?
@lolololheheheh8 ай бұрын
if you think the cruel prince is all about being enemies to lovers then you need to read the book again. honestly speaking the romance as a sub plot was off putting and they had zero chemistry. it would've been better without that romance
@niamhl69648 ай бұрын
@@Luluandherbooks But surely every book is problematic because you can't have a story without conflict or problems? Maybe I'm just not understanding properly

@@lolololheheheh I don't think it is all about being enemies to lovers, but that's certainly a pretty significant element of the story, and I loved it personally. Just different opinions I guess
