I been using the same mount for a year or more. Just make sure the item is mounted securely as at higher speeds the windscreen loves to shake the bracket around

question for you. if you do not have the garmin attached can you lower the windscreen to the lowest position without the bracket blocking dash at all. great vid !!

Thanks! Unfortunately the bracket is what blocks the screen from lowering, not thr GPS. It's so close too to where I should go all the way down. I may have to fiddle with it a bit more and see if I can figure out a way so it lowers completely

I believe you need to change the babble screws for a safety screw to avoid to be stolen.

That isn't a bad idea. The safety bolt with the mount I used helps, but anyone dedicated to taking it will. I may switch those screws out to add a little more security.

Love it. I don't have to look down like I would with a stem or tank mount, I just have to glance or use peripheral. In my opinion it's the perfect spot

What screws/nuts did you use fit the AMPS pattern holes?

I used all original and provided hardware for this install. I'd have to go back and look to see if I used the windscreen mount hardware or Garmin hardware for the mounting plate. If your GPS comes with hardware use that, but the windscreen mount comes with hardware too but I may not necessarily fit your particular GPS.

I plan to use the AMPS to a 17mm ball adapter to fit my archaic GPS. I may have to do some trial and error on the screws and nuts for this.

Is there any room to mount it where your quad lock is? I have the zumo xt and motopumps on a different bike but I leave my cell phone in my tank bag. Curious if there is room in that spot to mount it and if there are mounts for the motopump for the center handle bar location instead of up near the windshield. IDK have a ninja but thinking of my options so Im not even sure if there is room down lower

Yes, you can actually get an adapter and mount it on the quad lock. It even comes with RAM mount style fittings so you can mount it on a ram stem mount too. You can also get a tank mount (it bolts to the two front bolts on the tank) and then put it on that mount. However, I don't want to have to look down which is why the screen mount was the best option.

It should, but I haven't used a Tom Tom so cannot be 100% certain. Though I'm pretty sure I've seen people post the same bracket with a Tom Tom on it.

The Tom Tom mount does not fit nicely with the bracket shown. The mounting location and wiring are almost identical though.

never place your phones there. The shaking broke the stabilization on my iphone and now needs to replace the camera

Vibration dampeners are a must for that reason. Never run your camera while it is attached to the bike as the image stabilizers mess up trying to counteract the vibrations. Also, iphones are more prone to the failures than androids.

@@tammycooke5294 no it does not. I have not had any vibration issues tho. I don't know if the rubber washers on my windscreen help with vibration or if it's just a non-issue.
