I know this has probably been stated a thousand times, but for those that might not know the seat charlie was in was the commanders position which was used to be the main eyes of the tank and as well command the tank. The seat to the left of him was the loaders position and the seat in front of charlie that was lower down was the gunners position. The driver of that tank had their own area which was up in the front of the vehicle outside of the turret.

For anyone wondering, the tank they drove was the German made leopard 1 (used post ww2, cold war era), the first tank they fired was a ww2 American made 76mm Sherman (all American reliable workhorse that helped with the downfall of nazi Germany), finally the artillery they fired was a 152mm Russian anti anything howitzer (used by soviets and the communist block from mid cold war all the way to now).

Seeing a tank for the first time IRL especially the older WW2 and ColdWar era ones is really humbling. First you cant comprehend how fucking big they actually are (games, movies and photos really dont do them justice), then how little space there is inside, then how you could POSSIBLY see ANYTHING and last but not least the absolute bewilderment you experience imagening how they managed to actually load, aim and hit an enemy target a mile away. While under fire and eardrum-bursting noise constantly making communication close to impossible. Not to mention the few times in WW2 history when they actually did, in fact, shoot while driving. For those curious, the tank fired in this video is an M4A2E8 (76mm) Sherman medium tank. It was a later model created used at the tail end of WW2 by the united states.

It so crazy to see Charlie's channel now and with this many subscribers. I remember 10 years ago pre face reveal watching hilarious clips of him joking around making me and whatever gf cracking up.
