@@lauren-fi8sc This sounds like a living arrangement 3 of my friends were in a couple months ago, almost to a T except it wasn't just for music. 4 people lived there: my bro, my homie and his girl, and this other dude who was friends with my bro and I gave him a chance but we're not friends with him now. Everybody there was young but all grown adults, young 20s. If you can fight and die in wars and vote, and are of age of legal reproduction, can buy alcohol (poison), that's adult enough for me. Anyway, yeah, 4 people living there, 3 people had to share 1 bathroom, 4 cats living there and the cat owners didn't clean the litter box, and they all smoked weed in the house. My bro and the other dude had jobs, but the dude we don't like was lazy and bad at his papa John's job and ended up quitting. He had a music studio room, so when he wasn't working, they planned to use it. I didn't live there, but I am the artist, PM4K. We made 1 song, and I didn't make any more with the dude because the mixing was trash and I would've done better mixing and mastering it. The volume was too low, it was a problem, he never fixed it so I never paid him. I also did not pay him because I don't believe his skill is up to par, he's not good at mixing rap, and he wanted me to have him produce my beats but the guy could not produce. He produced before, but as for beats for me, he couldn't even produce 1 beat, he was unproductive. How do you want to be my producer but you won't even produce a beat? And he tried to charge me a bunch of money just to record and make songs, which is normal, but that's NOT normal when he knows I can do all that by myself and I have all my own equipment so I never needed him or anybody else to do it. It's like he wanted me to pay him to do things I already do myself. He wasn't worth his rates. My friends all moved out and ditched him and I helped them move because he was stealing money from them in the rent on the down low and surprised them with news the house was getting sold soon and somebody had to come inspect the house.

@6:23 "They even sprayed us with water from a water hose" - that sounds like a de-escalation from being physically assaulted. If you precede being sprayed with water by being physically assaulted and make the water sound bad, you really downplay what the physical assault was. I think Charlie's neighbors who always wore white and had masks were actually members of a religion called Jainism. Jainism is this really old Asian religion and some of the more devout followers will wear white clothes and white masks. Jains also sweep the ground a lot in front of them to sweep any small animals or bugs out of their paths (cause a principal of Jainism is not to hurt any living thing). Charlie said that they were always sweeping the driveway which sounds like a very normal behavior of the devout Jains.

My dad dated a Santeria girl once, he walked into her house and her mom was cutting off a chickens head and when my dad went to dip (because of course he did) she said “wait no don’t leave it’s starting” and he said “I DONT KNOW WHAT THE HELL IS STARTING AND I DONT WANT TO KNOW”. The last time he was with her, he walked into her house for I think it was her cousins birthday and every single jar on the walls (they had a bunch of shelves of jars lined across each wall) immediately fell at the same time, right when he walked into the room. Yea, that’s what I tried to do. But today, everyone is a professional victim. So imagine a bunch of kids with a huge platform decide they don’t like the house mom’s rules anymore - they pick a narrative (maybe given to them by a reporter or a behemoth talent agency) and then you’re screwed. If you fight back against the kids who lied - you’re a petty, weird adult and if you stay quiet, your business is destroyed and you get the reputation of being a scammer. This experience trying to help these kids was traumatic.

This whole idea just leaves me incredulous. Like I said before, if these people are claiming to be "just kids", then where the hell were their parents? This whole thing just screams "bad idea" to me, and there were so many obvious signs, so did their parents have anything to say? On top of that, what brand deals did they think they were going to attract with their actions? Like... who is going to care about your parties? They weren't actively making anything, so what's the incentive for a brand deal? You have to show value to make money, but no one had a proper plan. It should have been obvious that they were going to get hosed.
@olivia77822 жыл бұрын
Man if you're like 16 and know basically zero about business or really money in general, suddenly get famous and get told you're somehow special for doing shit on the internet, and someone makes you what seems to you like a dream offer (that your parents are just cool with it apparently), are you really gonna say no? I won't make excuses for a lot of their actual behavior, but in the cases that they're actually literal children (not just young-ish adults people are trying to shift blame off of) its still pretty fucked up to take advantage of them I think
@the_bottomfragger2 жыл бұрын
How is this any different from every KZbinr in 2011 being fucked over by Machinima? i have a pretty tight knit group of friends. im really really close with my best friends, but even then, i dont think i could live with some of them. theres a stark difference between being best friends with someone, and being good roommates. some people you just cant live with, and thats okay. friends should be able to set boundaries like that. that’s, to me, one of the HUGE reasons these houses fail. not only are these people usually not *actually* friends and mostly see each other as paycheck opportunities, but at a baseline, no one can live with every single one of their friends. some people just dont mesh like that.

The cops had to be called many times for noise complaints and general creepy shit these people would do and then one night they packed up and disappeared within a few hours and that was the end of it

I was looking for a comment that said this, although I think they did move out. They still are a super funny group though (No I don’t like pokimane, still fun group)

I literally subbed to Offline TV explicitly for Micheal Reeves.

yeah they didn't fail mostly because they were streamers in the first place. That's always easier than "quickly digestible" content like TikTok or Reels or Shorts. Most of them aren't narcissists either, that's why it has worked out so well for them. If you compare their content to Team 10 or HypeHouse or whatever, there's worlds in between.

It's hard enough trying to deal with one TikToker. Imagine trying to deal with a whole house of them. Do their egos cancel each other out or bounce off each other that it grows like a never ending echo chamber of madness?
