what would your solution be for if your hearing scratching and lots of moving around only at night in your attic in on specific spot and how to prevent it from continuing

First step: Check roof for any roof or exterior openings, especially around the areas that your hearing. Seal them up immediately! Then set a camera to monitor inside the attic area with a twin trap. This will provide you real intel on what’s going on and if your catching rats after you do this within 72 hour, you should be solved.

I had an idea for a trap. Get a bb pistol and take a piece of ply would that would go in front do the barrel and cut a hole for the barrel then attach something that would reach the trigger and attach it to the plywood then take the whole thing and mount it with the barrel facing up then add bait and a backstop. My thought would be that the rat or squirrel is what I would most likely use it for would go on to the plywood and pull the trigger and basically shoot itself.
