There's nothing weird about it you only need to use a percentage of donations on the actual cause of the organization in order to legally be considered a charity and being a charity gives tax breaks..... Non profit organizations are the ones that have actual interest in fixing a problem, for profit charity wants to sustain the issues long term as its a passive revenue source hence the gate keeping if too much light is shed on the homeless issue something might actually be done to solve the problem and that would jeprodize the cash cow they're currently monopolizing on....

I commend you guys for your bravery! I used to live in those tunnels 4 1/2 years ago before my family came and rescued me. I spent 3 1/2 years homeless in there and had COUNTLESS attempts on my life and had to run for my life every time it would storm. You literally would have no warning before the water would come pouring down the tunnels in the event of rain. That took some serious balls to go down there without knowing anyone prior to entering. I really respect what you guys are doing and hope you continue to document the problem of homelessness and addiction. These people need help and just need to be shown a little compassion. Most of these people aren't lucky enough to have family or anyone to reach out to them and pull them out of the hell they experience every day, or they would happily leave it behind. 4 1/2 years later, I am still battling my addiction, but I am 6 months clean and in a residential drug program. @@jerryleroy9187I wouldn’t say most because there’s never been an interview where you’ve heard everyone’s stories and to hold the stigma when you’re watching videos SPECIFICALLY in drug riddled areas and still say a homeless person in Virginia’s more rural parts is because of drugs only is too much of a blanket excuse. It’s a cop out to dehumanize them as choosing it. It really can take one mistake I’ve heard people genuinely fall for money hole schemes or investments truly convinced it’d help and then they lost it all. It’s not all drugs we can argue it’s stupidity but circumstances are also a factor. People have lost jobs they did well at and if you live paycheck to paycheck and get randomly fired and can’t replace that income fast enough you’re prime for being possibly homeless. ESPECIALLY if you have no friends or family to fall back on til you get back to it.

@@jerryleroy9187I will agree that it’s strange illegal immigrants come here with the drive to work regardless of circumstances while people born here tend to stay homeless. Moral of the story: the term "charity" can be used by malicious people, and if you are donating to charity you should do lots of research into the charity of your choice to see how the money is spent. Also: clearly, don't gamble all that you have, no matter what. (also I appreciate Tyler's style, he knows how to act chill with people in almost any scenario) I feel like there should be systems in place for people to get their ID/passport back, and most of all I feel like buying and distributing drugs to the homeless isn't charity it's fucking murder.

Honestly, I would just tell people to steer away from charity altogether. You likely have a neighbor, family member or friend who could use money more than people who run a 'charity' for a living. This isn't to say that I don't believe in charities, there are some good ones, obviously, but the only true way to know if you're actually taking care of someone, if your money is going to a good use, is to help those around you, instead.

Tyler, I've been watching your videos for a few days, and I'm impressed with not only how brave you and Kevin are in venturing into some pretty dodgy areas and situations, but also how you treat your interviewees with respect by telling them the truth as to what you're doing.

I was born and raised in the community adjacent to the last tunnel y’all. What you see in the video about the ‘left and right’ encampments has been a development only within the two decades. I remember waiting for the bus as a kid and walking into those same tunnels to kick around in the water. This is incredibly humbling and genuinely breaks my heart to see. Thank you for spreading awareness to to these invisible souls of my hometown

It's crazy to think that as middle-schoolers/high-schoolers we used to skip school and hang out in the tunnels in Vegas. I'm talking about the mid 1990's-2000. I'm sure the kids that were older than me had been doing the same thing for years. Truancy officers were less likely to catch you, though if they were smart the tunnels would be the first place they looked for students. The tunnels also kept you out of the sun. Things weren't bad like this when I was a kid but I'm sure there were dangerous characters around that we were to dumb to notice. Monsoon season was/is no joke when it comes to Vegas tunnels (and underpasses). Thankfully we were smart enough not to hang out in the tunnels before or after it rained. As for there being floodgates that could be opened, I had no idea that was a thing. I'd never heard anyone talk about floodgates opening and washing out the tunnels. I'm guessing we just got lucky that nothing bad ever happened to us or any of the kids who hung out there in years prior.

Yeah you & your friends are lucky nothing bad ever happened to you all but that's not the same for others who have went down there & never came back & those kids who went down there & came out a completely different person bad things have happened there they just don't advertise it but you can def look it up & find out for yourself the horrible things that went on down there

I hung out in the tunnels near lake mead and Buffalo. Never on the ones on the strip. It's crazy to think that if you didn't look for these tunnels you wouldn't know

We did the same in school. Except we went down there to graffiti. Those dudes were too weak fucked off to fuck with us though. We did fight a couple times and even had to pull our guns. But we did that for years and years. I was still running those tunnels doing graffiti into my late 30s. Lol
