Ryan i would suggest you put leather conditioner on your prize. If you pull the drawers out and rub wax ( Candle ) on the runners. For a smooth, quiet drawers. You borrow few scaffolding with wheels. To really help in your new house. Sure beats a step ladder. 🤔👍🏻

Your desk is fabulous, but leaving it outside, even with a tarpaulin over it is not a good plan. Wood can expand and contract in the wet/damp. Hope you get it inside soon. Gorgeous colour. 😀

Ryan you saved over 2 thousand pounds just on the desk , Antique shops are asking for 2 thousand pounds up to 4/5 thousand pounds for an antique desk in the Victorian style . You should have kept the apartment at the convent to store your furniture until your house was renovated completely .

Any antique shop charging that for "brown furniture" is probably doing little business and is probably a tax write off/scam,, Demand has been low for large heavy pieces for quite a few years. Most people have such limited space. I think topside on this would be 500 and anything under 200 a great bargain

As a dealer of many many years the days are long gone of getting a good price for such a desk but deff a bargain at 130 € …. Sold a fabulous rolled top desk for £750 so this would be under £500 currently but a lovely piece and great to save for the future thanks for sharing ❤

Great desk, English Tiger Oak. Give it beeswax polish once you dusted it off and rub a candle or beeswax on the draws to make it easy to slide, that way there’s less stress on the joinery.

FANTASTIC MUSIC. ACOUSTIC GUITAR & A BIT OF FOLK MUSIC!! I desperately tried, as a young child, to learn to play guitar. Somewhat tone deaf & would have needed 1:1 tutor. Was on a big class through Recreation & Parks District. Had to walk a sketchy route, a few very scary experiences while walking, hauling a rented guitar. Practiced a lot. Now just enjoy the sound.

It’s beautiful !!! I have one copy that I bought new in 1986. It’s still perfect and my son wants to have it. I live in Africa and the weather is not very good for real antiques. I have a 1860 chest of drawers and I will have to have it done again as the wood is getting too dry 🥹and brittle.

Steeleye Span still alive in your soundtrack. I paid £10,000 for a parteners desk with a better finish and provenance than that. But that was 30 years ago Some difference. Definetly add a couple of zeros there. Well done, it's a lovely piece. Don't scratch it on the gravel
