This is still going over my head. Confused about what value these strengths bring to my life by having it top of my mind. There are mentions of using it in conversations, OK, cool, but what type of conversation? Like for interviews? For networking? For what *exactly*?

Hi! What are your top 5 talents? Mine are achiever, learner, harmony, significance, and intellection. Knowing this about myself helps me to have concrete words to articulate to others how I am wired. How I naturally think about situations, how I might feel about situations, and what I might do in certain situations. It helps me have a better understanding of why I do what I do because I will always default to doing those things whether I realize it or not. So it helps me be really self aware. When I’m doing something whether it is a great accomplishment or something that frustrates me or others, I stop and think which of my talents is informing or influencing this. This awareness helps me accept who I am, appreciate what I bring to the taken, own it as something good, and learn to manage it so that it does not become a crutch, blind spot, or a liability. The tool also helps me understand why I may be frustrating to others who don’t have my talents. It helps me to have words to help them understand how I’m wired which can be hard because it comes so naturally to me so I may not have thought of it as something special figuring that everyone can do it. The tool is helpful because it doesn’t just tell you about your top 5 but it offers a framework for the 29 other talents that others have therefore giving perspective and understanding to others whom you may work with, want to partner with, or may be in a relationship with. It provides a framework for understanding others in the world that you might come in contact with. So, a specific example would be. In an interview someone says tell me about yourself and I might answer: I am driven, hardworking, and try to be productive with every task I take on (here I am describing my achiever without using the word) I am drawn to face-pace learning environments and enjoy staying up on trends or needing to learn a new technology, system, or process very quickly (here I’m talking about my learner) I often find myself being the hub of information between multiple departments and can easily translate what is needed in a way that relates to the specific group. I am a great facilitator of discussions. (Here I am talking about my harmony talents) I enjoy working on high profile projects which high stakes and the pressure to perform at a high level being observed by many. I find that this environment allows me to rise to the challenge and brings out my best which often sets a bar and leaves an impactful legacy for the future (here I’m talking about my significance) I am an introspective person. I am constantly musing about ideas, possibilities, and strategies. I am a great brainstorming partner and often produce informative minutes after meetings that both capture the conversation and promotes further discussion. If you want me to engage in a meeting it is best if you provide the discussion topic ahead of time for me to ponder my response otherwise I may need more time and not be able to have a fully formed contribute on the spot. (Here I’m talking about intellection) I hold this was helpful and specific enough. Ultimately, the more you understand and can identify how you specifically are using these talents the more you can apply them and help them inform every aspect of your life. Not as an excuse or way to get out of something but rather to find your best path to doing something that may not be the mainstream way. It help you know how to ask for what you need to thrive from yourself and others. Mahalo 🌺

Totally agree with going back and re-reading your insight guide report! I am in a Consultant position now and absolutely love it! The first time I read my report, I missed the part about where in my #Restorative talent, it recommended roles in medicine, consultant, computer programming, and customer service. I only remembered computer programming and totally missed the consultant role. Maybe because at the time, I could not see myself as a Consultant.
