Her name is Susan Tedeschi (pronounced Tehdeski) and her husband is Derek Trucks. He started playing with the Allman Brothers when he was 14. She's 10 years older than he is, and they met when she opened for the band and was on tour with them (I think.) Their band together is so great to listen to, so full! Two drummers, 4 back up singers, keyboards, they even have horns!

Best active touring band for the past decade. Derek had a great run with Warren Haynes with the Allman Bros, and a solo run with a great band with a great singer (Mike Mattison, who wrote this song here). Susan had a great solo career as an unlikely woman from the Boston area playing blues). I love that they effectively combined to create this band, taking the best of their independent music worlds into once space. Derek is more like a Maestro on stage as band leader... he walks the space to hear everyone playing, responds to what he's hearing, has managed to put a large band on stage where everyone has and lives well in their sonic space and everyone in the band has their moments to shine, including Mike (Derek's lead singer) who trades off with Susan from time to time to sing lead vocals. It's really an amazing band, all around, full of incredible musicians that could play anywhere for anyone.

Derek is the nephew of Butch Trucks from Allman Bros. His younger brother plays drums in Widespread Panic. The bass player is O’tiel and he has been playing in Dead and Company the last few years. Every one in this band is the Alpha at what they do.
