I'm still at a crossroads deciding if to liquidate my $338k stock portfolio. With Roth IRA, the money you are contributing has already been taxed. At any time for any reason, you can withdraw your contributions tax-free and penalty-free. Additionally, any earnings on investments can also be withdrawn tax-free and penalty-free, Not sure how much to contribute.

Why not pick a job you enjoy in the first place, that way you won't be frustrated and trying to find ways to quite your job?
@b__w_45654 жыл бұрын
Alex Campili cuz not a lot interests me....I’m not trying to sit in an office for 40 years, no matter what job they give me in that office. Not trying to do trade work for the next 40 years either...really just don’t wanna be a slave to the system. So I’ll work one of those “great” jobs you mentioned for about 10 years and try to retire and enjoy time with friends family and children...is it that hard to understand? We all can’t love those slave jobs man.
@alexc53694 жыл бұрын
@@b__w_4565 I agree, it can feel like being a slave to the system if you don't enjoy what you do, owning a million dollar business can still feel like you are a slave with a certain mindset, from your first dollar you earn and pay tax on you are contributing the 'the system'. I'm just getting at, if you don't aspire to be an office worker.. then don't go down that path.. don't go to uni for years for a degree that will lead you to an office role and then complain that you are a slave. It is still important to have a purpose, not just 'spend time with friends and family' - what will you be doing when your kids are at school, and your friends are working? However you decide to earn your living, it will always be by providing value in the market place, there are thousands of ways to do this. Good luck in finding your path.
