Time is on your side. Being your age, and already taking steps to plan for your future finances, is a huge step in the right direction. While you're young, and have not had enough time to make too many stupid financial decisions, learn how to either prevent debt (or leverage it carefully based on your personality type - spender or saver). Don't blow your money early on depreciating liabilities - only buy things that will net appreciate. Do not allow lifestyle inflation when your income increases. Begin to invest as soon as you possibly can, before you have dependents if possible, because compounding interest will be your best friend. You've got this. It's easier than you think.

Becoming financially free takes a lot of discipline. Neither of my parents invested when they were my age, so they both worked until they were super old. Learning from their mistakes, My Husband and I started investing right before the pandemic and managed to grow our account from $25k to $270k. It's not much, but I can say we are financially free and don't have to rely on a paycheck. Financial security through diligent saving and investing should be ontop of everyone's priority so when the economy burns you out, you can pursue other options and have something to fall back on. Feel the pain of discipline early or feel the pain of regret later. I wish everyone well!
@gaileickhoff1164 жыл бұрын
Hello Jeremy, honestly it takes a lot of discipline and sacrifice. I'm lucky to have the provision of a fiduciary wealth advisor (Rita Drace Lind) me through this journey. She works at a USAA near my office so I see her often to discuss my financials. You can use something else. Vanguard is easy to start a account.. but the best avenue is to contact your financial advisor. He/she would be a good source for a reputable advice. Rita really pushed me and made me realize what is possible when you're intentional with your finances

Glad this channel was on my recommendation list. 25 years and I feel like I've wasted a lot of time already. I don't think I provide so much of a service that can help society. But I do want to make a youtube channel making small comedy skits, i like acting and eventually get better with camera gear, editing and shooting in the long run. Just need to get over the fear portion of not being good enough. Not sure where that will lead me but I'm hoping somewhere positive. Maybe then if I "make it big" on KZbin (depending on what one means by it) i can use that money and put into different things like stock and index funds (ignorant about those as well). Idk...just in my mind sorry for the rambling if you read this far. But I do have faith that you all will go on to do big things. FIRE. 💯🖤

The best investment strategy is not a strategy but a complete investing Process. Strategies may or may not work depending on other factors such as market conditions, investment conditions, using the strategy with the proper trading style, support, and resistance to using, stop loss type to use, order type to use, and more. If you’re looking for success in the stock market, you need stock trading strategies that work.

I just turned 35 yesterday. I work as a software engineer in Toronto and had 120K saved by the time I was 26. I am still saving and investing, but I'm still far away from retirement. Why? Because life throws very unpredictable events, add to that the fact that a small condo in the GTA goes for 600K. Inflation is a real killer too, so 9 years from now current money will be worth a lot less. Your goals are very ambitious, and I encourage you to keep doing what you are doing because your videos are absolutely inspirational.

This 5% rule is Completely wrong.when you buy a house you can put down as little as 5% the rest is leverage so when the house 3% a year you’re total investment went up a lot more.Also in most cases the cost of rent is be slightly higher then the mortgage/taxes/insurance

@ManagingFI4 жыл бұрын
Love your content and the production value of your videos. Keep it up, I think you have a great thing going. If you haven't checked out the website Early Retirement Now, I'd recommend it. There's a fairly dangerous misconception floating around the FIRE community that a high success rate with the trinity study at 4% for 30 years extends to 40, 50 and 60 year time horizons. The success rate drops quite substantially. Things also get more complicated on the RE side when you're drawing down. Cliff notes are that you need to look more at the 3.25 or 3.5% rule for retiring early. Call it saving 30x your expenses. You also need that percentage of money net of any taxes and investment costs (expense ratios). In your case you're building a business which will keep producing an income so this will be a different situation for you. However, for someone that thinks they can save up 25x expenses, quit and successfully live off that for 60 years they might be very unpleasantly surprised.
