I liked that little detail, during the last part of the anime and manga they start drawing Winry and Ed more maturely to show that time has passed and they have grown up. Part of the reason why Ed secretly sneaks into Winry's house is because he needed to modify his metal arma nd leg because he outgrew them.

It's a shame this scene wasn't translated well in the anime. It was sooooo hilarious in the manga because everything was happening so fast and it was depicted as so chaotic.
