I just do not mix well with expensive corals apparently! My reef tanks tend to do much better with the beginner friendly cheaper pieces lol

lol. the most expensive coral i lost was an aussie 24k… $400. that’s cheap in comparison especially when the $100 you spent came with other corals 🤙🏾

haha yea it is definitely all relative! For me, I tend to stay around the $20-$40 range for corals so it's one of my more expensive pieces. Bummer on the 24k!

what do you mean you don't have space? what do you keep under the kitchen sink? Is there a garage? laundry room? they aren't that big. RODI is really the best thing you can do for your tnak

I don't have a ROI system inside my house. I bought a RO Buddy and screwed all the filters on a piece of flat plastic using some wooden boards. I just get that out of the garage when needing to use it.

I do use RODI, its just setup at another house so I have to go pick it up :/

Add on pump...jebao slw 10....add small urchin....and mex turbo snails or two to the nano

lol yes blowing it off doesn't solve the problem, I know this.. as I said I should send in for a water test and up my water changes to get it under control.. but blowing it off and sucking it up does help make it not so ugly in the meantime lol. Regarding flow, this tank wasn't always having this issue so I think in this one its the water quality, the nano I do think is due to lack of flow.

@@DreamStateLiving I have been in the reefing world for decades. Do you know what corals need to thrive? Take a look at any successful tank. Look at TSA or any one and they have cyano somewhere. Corals and algae need the same things to thrive. One can only give advice if it accepted is the question…. ***I’m not saying that you don’t need to do water changes either**

It’s prob that water you’re buying just make your own ro and go big with a uv and raise the temp but it’s a bunch of things that it could be

Hi i have the same tank as you what do you put in between the intake basket where the water drops off i seem to be missing a filter spot there so much bubbles keep forming and going into my return pump

I usually do the ATI ICP water tests.. sounds good! it hasn't fully finished splitting but shoot me a DM on IG and I can let you know when its ready!

I run a media basket with perigean and usually chemi pure elite (rn I have gfo in there tho) and I just have filter floss and polishing pad!

I recently had a scoly bleach on me. I believe the reason is due to an extended p;ower outage we had due to hurricane Beryl. The temp went up to 85 degrees. The scoly did fine until the power came back on and the temp went back down. It just didn't acclimate to the temp change is what I think happened. There are other soft corals in the tank that are doing fine.

Amazon has lots of cheap small power heads you could go with. Just keep doing water changes and the big tank will keep getting better.

Estou com mesmo problema das algas cabelos,tive pico de silicato e fosfato no aquário,estou nesse drama ja a meses com uma pequena melhora em alguns pontos, adicionei equipe de limpeza para tentar resolver o possível
