It was really interesting to hear from the author's view on the book, honestly makes me want to read it now even though I was hesitant.

I actually ordered dead inside because of your review!!! This is really cool to hear from the author. I hope going into it with the perspective that it’s a comedy and that the twist is supposed to be obvious helps me have an epic time reading it !!

I am living for how diverse your content is!! So cool that you got a QnA with the author, he seems like such a cool guy. This channel has everything. I was rewatching Nettlebrook recently and missing it but I’m always so excited by every upload on this channel to the point where I could, would, and will happily wait forever for any and all Dapper content.❤️❤️❤️

Super cool that he was willing to talk with you. I definetly suspected that dead inside was satirical, and makes it a much more fun story

My first Chandler Morrison book was until the sun, which made me read everything he ever wrote with how good it is. But when I looked him up after reading until the sun I just said out loud to no one "wait he's the guy who made that book everyone on KZbin hates?" And least to say I'm glad someone else got it was supposed to be satire too.

Absolutely loved this interview. Awesome that you grabbed the opportunity, and intriguing to hear an inside view of his thoughts.

this interview made me love him even more. I thought I was messed up for thinking the novel was hilarious (disturbing, but hilarious), but I love that that was his intention. can’t wait to read his next novel & to check out his recommended authors! also, loved the dad bit at the beginning. made me laugh so hard.

Another smallish author I love is Scott sigler, I’ve mad a lot of fan work from his stories. He is a very fun gores author. I recommend starting with infected, an ex linebacker gets infected with an alien virus that makes him extremely agressive, which is terrifying for him becuase it reminds him of his father. Very good read ;)

Oh man so I was intrigued from watching the review, but this interview has sold me on giving Dead Inside a look - the attitude he has towards it actually reminds me a lot of the attitude the writers of the game Drakengard took with their characters where every single one is a hilariously awful person and you're really not supposed to like them. Like, satire and parody (especially around taboos and society and how humans are kinda gross and absurd little creatures) imo work best when they are exaggerated to a grotesque point, but it absolutely then becomes a razor's edge as to whether it reads as satire or unironic edgelord shit.

I question whether or not many of these reviewers have ever read Dead Inside or are they just wanting on the bandwagon to bash it and talk about how disgusting and disturbing it is. I loved it, I thought is very well written and the twist at the end I did not even see coming.

I just finished the book and it’s a fun read but why did Helen not od i also think it’s a comedic read like i think my favourite part was the conversation with the paramedics will read the book he prefers tho cause this was way better than other splatter punk books also it’s clear he’s not a fan of the genre cause at the climax we’re he should double down in the disgust he just skips reminds me a lot of the collector by john fowles

Sure, it’s absurd. But not laugh-out-loud funny. That shit with the baby… And I didn’t see it as satirizing Serbian Film. I actually compare it to Serbian Film, and not in an ironic or satirical way.
