The reason why cozy glow's cutie mark is a chess piece is cause her talent is manipulating people as if they're chess pieces. Cutie marks aren't always literal they can be metaphorical too.

"School Raze" parts 1 and 2 are one of my all time favorite season finales in this serie! At the time that this 2 parter aired many people in the fandom had already suspected that Cozy Glow was going to be the villain. And as this parter shows those suspicions were correct, Although from what was showed in the trailers and promos for this 2 parter a lot of people also suspected that Chancellor Neighsay was going to be the main villain, Which in a way he was he was just secondary In fact literally everything that Neighsay believed blew up in his face in this 2 parter, Because the whole season he was convinced that the non-pony members of the Student 6 would lead to the downfall of Equestria but Neighsay never once considered the possibility that a pony could also cause a threat to the land and Cozy Glow certainly proved that. So luckily Neighsay dropped his racist beliefs and gained a whole new prospective on things, And I like to think that after this experience Neighsay even finally gave the School of Friendship full EEA accreditation. I mean it was the least he could've done after the Student 6 saved him. And it was such a treat to see Tirek again after 5 seasons, Speaking of which I love how Pinkie Pie annoying Tirek was a classic "I'm not trapped in here with you, You're trapped in here with me" kind of situation. And it was interesting to see what all of the creatures locked up in Tartarus looked like as regular animals. As for Cozy Glow, After she committed straight up treason she totally deserved a way harsher punishment than being sent to Tartarus herself, Because for Tirek and the other creatures Tartarus is a prison but for Cozy Glow it's more like a juvenile detention center. Although I can remember a lot people hating that they made Cozy Glow the villain, Because she was completely out of nowhere and she was never given a backstory. But its not like she was the first mlp villain that the show staff didn't give an official origin story too. Anyway, I'm happy to finally witness you wrap up season 8 Scoot, And I look forward to your season 9 reactions!

While it hasn't been confirmed, the staff said that they thought of Cozy Glow as a small adult. Which would make sense since she's partially based on Baby Doll from Batman, who is also an adult trapped in a child body.

In my opinion, I think this finale was at LEAST more creative than I expected it to be. I enjoy the Side 6 (what I'ma call them for now) to a somewhat degree and I'm glad its not just the average Twilight and the Mane 6 save the day once again type of thing

I have such mixed feelings on Cozy Glow. On one hand, she's only a kid and I feel like she shouldn't have put put in a situation where she has access to such dangerous things... but on the other hand she's a REALLY fun villain to have considering MLP likes to redeem villains, it's honestly pretty genius to make the one that is just completely and entirely evil the cutesy child. Either way though, I do love her character a whole lot.

Some people think it's a little harsh to send little Cozy Glow to Tartarus, and while sending a child to hellish imprisonment is wild, one should consider that despite her age, Cozy Glow was an absolute and legitimate menace that even when taught in the ways of friendship, only ended up seeing it as a tool or power to be used to control the world and would threaten the very fabric of the world to seize said power, a lost cause in the School's grand scheme but also a perfect antithesis to Neighsay's point about the dangers of teaching friendship to other "creatures" with the Pony ending up being the real threat, her talent is manipulating people and she ultimately chose to use it and her knowledge for evil, the punishment is fitting for someone like her.

Spoilers(even tho thumbnail spoils it) Cozy is a very good villain She is my 3rd fav(sombra is 1st and tirek 2nd) She is just a filly with no power whatsoever Also there were hints to her evil persona so it isnt out of nowhere which is good And I love how manipulative she is And she almost won which is also cool The only thing i dislike is her being put in tartarus which is weird Like tirek makes sense but her? Like I know she didnt want to be reformed but twilight should have at least considered it. For me, Cozy is as evil as Chrysalis, I can't see a single spot of kindness in this filly, but different from Chrysy, she probably born that way? Given her cutie mark's ability to manipulate, she could use it for good but naturally she does it to further herself and rise to more and more powerful positions allowing this lifestyle cycle of hers. Thats what I think of Cozy glow

If you mean by Tirek, no she wasn’t being brainwashed. There’s 0 indication of her being groomed, Tirek cant do that from inside Tartarus, meaning she had to be the one to make contact. SHE made contact to learn about stealing magic, she’s the one manipulating people. Kids are humans, they have the ability to think and are absolutely capable of evil just like anybody else.

I've heard a lot of people theorize she was born this way and I do think that's a cool theory but I personally believe her cutiemark represents control and the influence she can have over others but she's misguided in the way she uses it. And because tirek is evil he's using this to his own advantage instead of steering this CHILD on the right path

And even if she was groomed that’s still doesn’t excuse anything she did, especially when she did have a lot of good rolemodels like the literal princess of friendship… she shouldn’t be allowed to walk free after doing what she did, groomed or not (and again, she mostly likely wasn’t)

i honestly think it’s bcs they got introduced WAY to late. i love them, they’re rlly cute but i’ve noticed a lot of ppl refuse to connect w/ them bcs they got so used the main six (like you said, 7 WHOLE seasons with them) had the students been introduced a bit early it would’ve given them more episodes to develop and ppl would’ve gotten to know them better. notice how a lot of ppl like CMC, bcs they’re iconic and we actually got to know them. i feel like that could’ve been them if they weren’t introduced within the last two seasons :[

I think this is why season 8 fell flat for me 😭 As a vilian Cozy Glow is quite literally the worst the only thing to her is pretty much "Oh I'm not as cute and innocent as I seem" and her motives make no sense fr she's just some power hungery child which? I MISS that, I would like to see more of Cozy, her character could be as complex as any other if she at least had an appearance in the comics or delicately insert your past into your speeches, we had 2 seasons with her, she was forgotten and had such good potential. Whether she is really a child or an adult, whether she has family or not, your motivations, feelings and thoughts.
