I like how Tiana inadvertently led to Dr. Facilier's death, & she is 1 of the few Disney characters to do so. She may not have know destroying that charm would have resulted in his death, but he literally gets sucked into Hell because of her destroying it.

A small theory i saw somewhere on the Internet was that despite Charlotte wearing exclusively pink she still had a blue dress to give Tiana. This probably means that she had that dress especially made for Tiana which i think speaks volumes about the friendship they share.

A LOT of people hate Loti because they think she's insensitive and spoiled, and their evidence is that Loti didn't give Tiana money for the restaurant. I DISAGREE Lotti was DEFINITELY spoiled, but I don't think I've ever seen a Disney princess movie where the princess had a better friend than Loti is to Tiana. Tiana's main belief through this movie is that you have to WORK to make your dreams a reality! Even IF Loti had offered to give Tiana money, Tiana would have turned it down! She accepted Loti's money when Loti PAYED Tiana to be in charge of the food for the party! Tiana STILL might have turned down the offer, but she KNEW that meeting (and marrying) a prince was Loti's DREAM, and Tiana wanted to help her friend's dream come true! They have the best friendship in all of the Disney princess movies!

I also love the theory of lottie tryna pay but tiana would turn her down, because whenever lottie hires tiana for work she over pays tiana ALOT, probably on purpose, cuz lottie knew the only way tiana would accept any kind of money from her family was to work for it and cuz of how hard and how much she works and goes underpaid lottie makes sure she gives tiana the money she deserves in subtly ways and not too often to make sure she doesnt let tiana realise being overpaid cuz she knows she'll refuse it, and she knows big sums of money all at once would definitely be more beneficial for tianas family rather than small amount on a regular basis, something Charlotte was well aware of. For example, tianas blue dress. Lottie had that ready for her to wear immediately and we can see throughout the movie that the cut, the color, the style, even the gloves, just the entire overall design of the dress is nothing at all like the type of thing Charlotte would ever really wear and yet she had it completely ready, therfore she probably had the dress bought or probably made specifically for tiana as a gift and was just waiting for the right time to give it to her as if she had just brought it home to her on a random tuesday tiana would have probably rejected it or just kept it and never used it cuz she didnt "earn" such an expensive thing like that, even though she deserves it, so lottie had to wait for the perfect moment when tiana would have to accept her gifts

Lotte definitely knew that Tiana wasn't going to accept her handouts, that's why I believe she overpayed Tiana for the party. She found a way to not only get what she wanted but to also help her bestfriend get her dream. Despite her and Tiana being from different backgrounds, because of the way Big Daddy was and how he raised Lottie, she wasnt prejudiced against Tiana. (Big Daddy was literally shown overpaying that newspaper kid in the intro-song, which is what I believe inspired Lottie to overpay Tiana. Its not a handout, its just a 'generous tip'.) In other words, Lotte is best friend, best princess, and best girl.

I just realized something. This movie spells it out in my face but it took me several years to notice that the entire movie’s thesis is about what you want, and what you have. Its an element in all heroes journeys, but this movie is straight up about it. The shadow man’s voodo is all about getting what you want at the cost of what you have. All of Louis, Tiana and Navene, sing about what they want, but they get it eventually naturally over time by way of what they have, each other. Louis wants to play with the big boys, wich he does at Tiana’s restaurant, wich he helps them get by being himself. Tiana and Navene get back to being human again without forcing Navene into a lovless marriage. The only character main who doesn’t sing about what he wants is Ray. Ray is also the only character who sings about what he already has in his love for Evengelene. The song isn’t about him wanting her, its about him loving that she’s with him. The other characters see an empty and one sided relationship. They expect him to want a real firefly, or if they knew she was real, they might expect him to sing about how sad he is that he lost her. But he doesn’t want more than he has. Hes just appreciative that she’s still with him. I never noticed that before!

There's a rumor that the man who bought out the restaurant in cash was Lotti's dad t gift to Tiana They said the man offered it in cash..who have we seen giving out a large sum of cash in this movie?? No one but Lotti's dad. Giving a large sum for a newspaper and Lotti grabbing an undisclosed amount of money from his wallet to give to Tiana. Another hint is that Lotti said "we're both getting what we wished for!" when Tiana never mentioned that she was going to be signing the papers that night. She only said "I'm finally getting my restaurant" to her earlier that day. That's where the rumor stems from.

Dr.Facilier is voiced by Keith David and he's been in so much stuff, you could pick any cartoon from the 90's or early 00's and you can find a blink and you'll miss it Keith David cameo. He's even the cat in Coraline. Edited to add that Tiana was bases off of a real women who fought to get her own restaurant and be recognized for her efforts, Leah Chase. There are some really cool documentaries about her life. Y'all should check em out.

Tiana is honest to god the best dressed Disney Princess thus far in my objective opinion. Whenever she isn't a frog there isn't a single outfit she wears that doesn't miss and it works for the time period (save the wedding dress in the swamp). I wish there was more content of her as a person just to see more of her clothes.
