Love what you have done with your recycled wool. Such an inspiration to make something you love and will use without spending a fortune. Something as high quality as cashmere deserves a new life. Thanks for your videos cheers from Ontario!

You've inspired me to make my first 2nd hand cashmere garment purchase with the intent of harvesting the yarn. I have bought wool garments in my local thrift store, but your enthusiasm about cashmere made me excited as well. I got a camel coloured sweater with a huge shawl collar and a pinkish, beige poncho. So looking forward to making new things that suit my style and wardrobe. Thank you for the push!

Love that lime for you!! Also love that Aubergine/Purple on you too. I test a person’s colour by asking if they would wear a blue/red (winter shades) or an Orange/red (autumn shades) lipstick.💄. I look like I’m at deaths door with a blue/red lipstick but I like my skin tone with the orange/red shades. You really are a prolific knitter. Love all of your makes Thanks for sharing Lisa 🙋🏼🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I so love your magenta sweater on you! Pretty! The green is also amazing and love what you choose to make with it. I think it’s fantastic that it’s recycled because it can be hard to convince yourself to buy a sweater quantity that’s not a “neutral” even tho you love the color. It’s going to be beautiful. I’m a new knitter and would love to one day be capable of making the quality of sweaters that you make. I can’t wait to see more!

It’s true- it’s easier to spend 10 or 20 on a sweater in a bright colour and just see what happens! I’m sure if you just keep knitting you will make the sweater of your dreams in no time. ❤️

I’d say you are cool toned. There’s high contrast between your hair and skin. So probably deep or true winter. (No expert, so take with a grain of salt). I also salvage yarn from sweaters and like you, do it to save money (way cheaper to thrift sweaters for the yarn) and also agree you are repurposing and reusing instead of letting it go to waste. The world is drowning in garments and reusing/repurposing anything is great for the planet.

I think you’re a fair olive, leaning warm. That’s why you rock a variety of colors and looks smashing in red. I learned a lot from the Your Color Style website. Jenn has a video and post about olive undertone and what colors look good. So glad Ivana recommended your channel! Lovely knitting! All the best from a fellow “Lisa”. 💙

Hi Lisa! I instantly thought you look best in cool colors. I think the tanned look goes along with olive undertones. I've watched your channel since your early days, and I'm blown away at your amazing progress in knitting! Someday I hope to be able to knit garments! I love your new channel name! Here are my color theory opinions: I think we should wear whatever colors we like and feel happy in. I think perhaps we innately know what suits us best. I'm not a huge fan of the color theory movement, nor in paying an "expert" to tell us what colors we look best in. Honestly, I would like to see someone (not you, I'm not hinting!) get their colors done by several experts and see how their results compare! 😄
@Lisamakes
@Lisamakes 5 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching all this time, Tammy! Yes; I totally agree we should wear what we like- but I have found lately that if I wear certain things I feel grey and pallid. I haven’t quite nailed down quite what those things are yet, so I was hoping for a clue from colour theory. :)

Beautiful knits as usual. Yes, as one viewer mentioned, you have become even more expert over the years. If only I had kept up during that time, but alas, I still struggle. I give up when I can't figure out the pattern. How does one solve that? I have similar coloring as you. I can often wear cools, but I do look better in warms. Though fair, I have olive undertones. Yes, one way to tell is do you look better in a blue-red, or an orange-red? The latter makes you more of an autumn. Thanks, Lisa.
@Lisamakes

Thanks, Bonnie! Do you have a knitting friend, or knitting group near you? The best thing is to be able to ask a more experienced knitter for help. I kind of think I look better in ruby reds, but I’ll have to experiment more.

So good!!! Love the hat you made too, so clever. I love knitting dreaming too… helps me drift off at night when my mind goes silly 🙃 I have no idea about colours, I usually just pick what I’m drawn to. Other people have to look at me, not me, I just look at the garment, so as long as I’m happy with the colour I have no idea how it looks on me! The hard thing for me is taking photos for Ravelry and Instagram because then I have to look at myself and wonder does that suit me? 🤭😂 thanks for sharing, Karen 🥰

Wow! You can knit fast! I love seeing the sweaters take on a new life❤️ I have pulled three items from my makes to pull apart and remake into something I’d love. I’m in love with the yarn but not what I made. I want to learn to spin so a few yarns have been added to this pile. There is a lovely group that meets every month near me that will help me learn to spin. Do I really need a new hobby… sure I do😂

Just got to the bit where you are talking about your colours. I had mine done many many years ago and was classified as a neutral - so you don't have to be cool or warm. I can wear deep winter and deep autumn colours but I need colours with saturation. Pastels make me look like I died. I can wear gold or silver jewellry. Maybe that is you too? I am relatively pale with dark hair and eyes.

I love that purple on you, and I feel like jewel tones like a sapphire blue or an emerald green would just look fantastic with your coloring ❤ question, when shopping online for sweaters to frog, how do you know which ones you can take apart? PS you’re such a fast knitter and I’m incredibly jelly but I also have 4 kids under 10 and I homeschool so I guess that’s my own fault 😂

Hey Lisa - I've watched your move from Canada to Spain and smiled as we all went through the pandemic together. For awhile I was super bummed that you'd left sewing mostly to the side, since I love sewing and loved watching you solve sewing problems, but II kept watching anyway because I still loved seeing you solve problems! And now...I've taken up knitting (after not doing it for 20+ years), so I'm also tuned in to your content once again. All of this is a long intro to say, PLEASE give me a link to those short circulars if you can still find them sold! I just searched Amazon and couldn't find them. I've been desperately seeking a set of SHORT interchangeables in the BIG needle sizes (eg, US 10, 101/2) and coming up ... well, short (excuse the pun). I'm not a real big person, so I'm really looking for 9" or so circumference. Anyway, that set you have looks great and I'd love to get one. Make on!

So happy to hear you’re knitting again! That’s great to hear. I’m afraid it looks like that set isn’t available in Canada. I’m only seeing it in Europe. Knitpro is Knitter’s Pride in the US, but I’m not seeing it on their site. You may need to order them from abroad, unfortunately! Thanks for continuing to watch after so long!

@@Lisamakes Ha! It seems cool to be thought of us Canadian - but I'm actually in California. Maybe you are saying, however, that being in the U.S. does not help me to get that set? Perhaps if I order from a European show/distributor.... Helpful to know that Knitpro and Knitter's Pride are the same.
