Come on, dude, you exactly copied agadmator's title for this one. Not cool !

Really interesting games! In his interview with the Russian commentary team, Karjakin says that Denis Khismatullin, presumably his second, told him about the pawn sacrifice 10.e5 before the game. He says that there are some really crazy complications after 13...Qxa2, while the endgame that Shankland got from 13...Qxd2 is just better for white.

I feel so sad about Sam. He played great and I was rooting for him to go through, even thou I am karjakin's fan. But they played so beautiful chess and Sergey deserved to win as he found resources to win on demand and Sam could not. Maybe next time Sam.

Karjakin loves the world cup! His semi against Fedoseev will be very interesting. Fedoseev's had a great tournament but a supposed "easier" ride to the semis. Really cannot call it! Great analysis as always Danny!

Great video. Actually Sam lost the second 10 min game, not that it matters. He had a draw in hand, but he knew it was as useless as a loss, so he kept pushing instead.

Karjakin won the second 10-minute game as well. He did not draw.

My mistake - I was watching live so not sure how I reframed that one! Sam could have made a draw at many moments and just pushed right through until it was no longer prudent to do so.

That's at least a couple of times you've admired a player's "harmony in the army" recently: could it be because of the recent hit tv adaptation of The Queens Gambit, at some deep level?
@PowerPlayChess3 жыл бұрын
I hear what you are saying, but I think I was first turned on to the concept of harmony by the way Vassily Smyslov talked about the game. 'Harmony' was what he lived by, on the board and in life.

Harmony in the army. I like this term like queen in Siberia

@@andreasgrunder7003 ya, and a Siberian Queen who somehow can return to the scene of the action, or perhaps a born - again promoted pawn could be the Queen of Narnia.
