The first step into becoming a true master of blender is getting into the habit of deleting the default cube... Even if you need it.

i feel like what's missing from what people are taking from this, is that this is a tremendously great example of discipline. each day was spent on learning a task within a reasonable time frame. reasonable goals were set and look at how much was achieved. trying to do too much all at once is what's leading people into feeling discouraged. instead of modeling an entire car, maybe just start by modeling a wheel. it's important to understand how to be fair to yourself by not placing yourself under so much stress right off in the beginning. just do a little thing each day in blender and stop. give yourself permission to pat yourself on the back once in awhile for doing something in 3d (or any art). soon enough you'll be doing much, much more
@gravitacion7412
@gravitacion7412 4 жыл бұрын
I agree with this comment. The main point of this video is that with daily simple habits and discipline, you can do whatever you want. What you do and do not do daily impacts yourself in the long run.

Its 100% to do with him knowing a 3DSmax, or maya or C4D, no one can learn any 3D software like this in a month unless theyve used 3D softwares for 5+ years, the title maybe true, but he didnt go from having 0 3D knowledge to complex modelling in 30 days (Edit: after watching the video again i realised he clearly says what tutorials he watched, i thought he did it all by playin around with the software)

Really impressive, I've Been doing 3D for about 16 years, and I can say that your progress is really amazing, considering it took you 30 days to learn how to model. 3D is not that hard really, you just need to learn basic tools that you'll be using them over and over. After that if you want to improve further you need to set more difficult challanges. My advice would be not to get too comfortable with the Lowpoly art style, but to experiment with more art styles, that will open more opportunities later for you. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with the Lowpoly art style, and for example realism is not the only alternative, but you have so many options to make a personal artstyle and the sooner you'll start to look for it, the further it will take you. Just my 2 cents, hope it's helpful. :)
@HendyAugust
@HendyAugust 4 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for your kind words, Laurynas :) it's great to hear such feedback from someone experienced. I completely agree with you. There's sooo many art styles in 3D to explore, but, low poly is the style that made me learn 3D in the first place, so I might stick with the low poly style for a while :) but, in the future, i will definitely explore more and more 3d art styles :) Thank you again, Laurynas, i really appreciate your feedback...

work at your own pace, but the people in blender community want to help and while its daunting, just take little steps, grant is great and there are many others like him who can help you along, but again, learn the blender way and at your own pace, repetition helps and come back to it again if its overwhelming step back and look at it with fresh eyes, start a project again if it feels like you're stuck, it will reinforce what you know and fill in the gaps and often is easier than trying to fix something halfway through and get discouraged. your pace, pause the video, rewind, redo ;o) just enjoy, that is the blender experience, joy of doing!

This is fantastic. I picked up blender about 2 months ago and started with the donut tutorial and a chair tutorial before jumping in and adopting Blender for work. I’m competent modelling in it now (I’m still hit and miss with lighting), but I’ve had years of previous basic experience in 3ds, C4D and Sketchup previously so, for me, it was really about understanding the tools and nodes. To get as far as you have with no real previous experience is really great and should inspire others to join the Blender community!

I started out in 2005 with a project making a bus in a different, much less powerful program called Anim8or, and 2 years a go learned to use Blender (not up to the standard like the video maker by the way, saw some new things I did not yet knew). It has made a whole lot of things easier and faster to model, but I agree the learning curve can be really steep and the interface can be intimidating.

I appreciate the deviation from the usual tutorials - I think outlining the curve of what you wanna learn one after the other is really valuable.

I’ve been using Blender since 2014 and I would be stuck in the part of making the low poly deer. To me it seems impossible to make such progress in a year, and you did it within a month. Great job!

I learned blender 2.79 and looks like I have wasted my time, that is a whole new thing I am seeing

It's true that 2.8 is completely different looks from 2.79, but i don't think you wasted time with your experience. Although the viewport is different, the most important is that you already have experience with how it work. I believe you will get used to the new look in no time :)

I'm using 2.79 because that's the most recent version I can run. I'm rendering an animation as I write this. It's my first serious attempt at actually completing a project, and I HOPE it will be my first upload. Blender is an amazing resource - not just because it's free, but because it's always getting better. Great video! Shows the value of perseverance and dedication. All the best!

@@inconsequential7673 I am genuinley confused mate, I used 2.79 and it was much heavier on my pc (except in the RAMs) so I'm not sure why isn't it working, did you try it? What are your specs? Mine: 3GB RAM (It should be 4 but the pc reads it 3 or I got scammed) Core 2 Duo E7500 Geforce GT 610 512GB storage HDD Windows 7
