My old man was a hoarder. He saved magazines, newspapers, plastic to go containers, etc. Just junk that was never really useful and filled multiple 20 yard dumpsters after he passed. You have good useful parts that can be sold or scrapped if it really came down to it. Things that have actual value. I'd say that makes you a collector and not a hoarder.

I love the fact you are keeping the 4.3L in Smoke Show. I've owned a '90 S-10 Baja edition with the 4.3 so I know that it has plenty of power and torque for that size truck. I think it's even better that you are allowing kids learn on building it, it warms the heart.

Good to see a wife that understands what pays the bills and doesn't mind getting dirty to help. You are a great couple. Been more than a few years, I don't recall that transmission being partially robust??? You have added a bit of weight to the S10. Do what makes you happy.

There was a guy in my town who bought a new Chev 1500 4x4 every year and always got the 4.3. He had a construction company and was always pulling heavy trailers . Certainly evidence of the capability of the engine. I look forward to the scripture verses at the end of your videos. They add a nice calming finish, thanks.

Colt on my GMC Jimmy and my first wifes S-10 Blazer I took both actuators for the front axles and got rid of the vacuum actuation part but kept the cable and attached a twist and lock/release cable for a tow truck idle adjuster for a PTO to make our 4x4s actually work

Lived in Bloomfield for a couple of years. Worked for a natural gas transmission company there, like everyone else, lol. That car wash you went to was by far the best car wash I’ve ever used to date. The red hose for de-mudding and the ramps made it super nice to clean the bottom of your rig after a day out in largo.

First, you obviously married above your paygrade! Congrats! Just bought a 2001 1500 Silverado RWD, with the 4.3. This truck is also a donor. My 1962 IH Scout 80 will receive the 4.3, 4L60E and as much of the wirini g harness as I can use. The truvkvwas a fleet truck, basic work truck. No power seats, windows or locks, no cruise, or AC. Unsure what I'll do for gauges. Will run a gutted YJ D30 and Chrysler 8.25 with 4.10s and ZJ discs. I do need to refresh the 4.3, new seals and gaskets. Later, next year, 2 years maybe, I want to consider a Crown Vic IFS and TBird/Lincoln Mark VIII IRS... Not slammed, but low enough for Canyon carving... Hoping to have it all on my channel! Good luck Colt!

You need Mean Green hand cleaner . It worked the best tearing greasy vehicles apart all day long 6 days a week . The company is in Texas and they ship a case of 4 with a dispenser. Your hands won’t be dried out from continuous use and it works very good for stain removal, just rub it into your clothes where the grease spot is before washing and it will remove the stain. I kept fuses headlights light bulbs vents ground wires body clips shims, you name it and I had a place I kept it all . Even GM axial a/c compressors and a couple of guys stopped in looking for the axial compressors that were core buyers and said they were paying 30 apiece for the ones that turned over free , so I sold them a hundred and eighty of them and boy were they happy and it was to big of a pile of cash that I couldn’t fold it over and double my money sticking it in my pocket buy me uncle didn’t get any of it 🤫

When they design vehicles, they have two things going against you. They design the cars/trucks with a computer which means they now have the ability to use every cubic inch of space under the hood. They also design vehicles for assembly, not maintenance. This is why you have to take out half of the underhood parts before you can get to what you want to repair or adjust.

Those s10s will still fire off 10 years into that zombie apocalypse. I would build for a supercharger. That 700r4 is good enough, however manual be good for spare. I would encourage beefing up the rear frame on smoke show if you haven't (i forget)

Auto manufacturers are required to have parts avalilable for ten years from the date of manufacture of the vehicle. After that they can obsolete the parts and then you have to depend on aftermarket sources. Taiwan makes a lot of aftermarket stuff.

I ate good Mexican food in Farmington when my buddies and I fly fished the San Juan River. We were the only white people in the restaurant that evening for some reason. A had a friend that has a nephew that lives there and I have a buddy from high school that lives there who came to KC by train from Albuquerque to watch the Raiders loose last Friday against the now 11-1 KC Chiefs and your blue S-10 reminds me of my dads last delivery truck he drove before his passing which was a lowered Blue S-10 4x2 long bed extended cab V-6 engine with a 5 speed that gets very good gas mileage and I kept it when we closed down our salvage yard he started in 1964 .
