When Bharat was under mughal rule (before btitish) its gdp had already declined to the worst and also there was so much social discrimination going on against the hindus. They already drained and looted our wealth and so much of our temples were destroyed and nalanda library (that contained books with precious knowledge) was burnt down. Mughals were just invaders. Who themself contributed to the downfall of both- economy and spirtual knowledge. There is a reason why India has been the most invaded country since past.

However, this was very different from how the mughals or the british took the empires, they used dirty tricks and betrayal of allies. Like how britishers came to India as traders but eventually took us as their colony, same way mughals were defeated by Indian kings many times but they bribed the military leaders in the army of the kings which caused the mughals to take over India

@TheSharatmaja3 сағат бұрын
The British gradually took control of India through a combination of military conquest and strategic alliances, ultimately displacing both the Mughal and Maratha powers. By the early 18th century, the Mughal Empire, was weakening due to internal conflicts, succession struggles, and invasions. While the Mughal emperor remained a nominal figurehead, the empire's control was fragmenting, creating power vacuums. During the Mughal decline, several regional powers, most notably the Marathas, rose to prominence. The Maratha Empire expanded rapidly across large parts of India, challenging Mughal remnants and other powers. At the same time, European colonial powers, including the British, the French, and the Dutch, were vying for control of trade and territories along the coast. The British East India Company began to expand its influence, initially in alliance with local rulers but later through direct military confrontation. The Anglo-Maratha Wars (1775-1818) were a crucial part of this. After defeating the Marathas in a series of wars, the British effectively dismantled the Maratha Empire by 1818, which had been one of the most powerful regional players in India. The British, after weakening the Mughals and defeating the Marathas, gained control over vast regions of India. While the Mughal emperor technically remained in Delhi until 1857, the British East India Company exercised real power. Following the Indian Rebellion of 1857, the British government took over direct control, marking the start of the British Raj.

Appreciate the video, however I would like suggest that during Mughal period, India had already weakened by the Mughals, Sultanates, and other rulers/invaders. However just to fact, try finding history just before Ghori, India was astronomically richer and way powerful. And during Gupta period and before India was called the Golden bird, it was way more richer.

There is also something to add at last: After Mir Jafar was handed over the Nawab throne few months later he himself started ignoring the orders of British and was creating his own empire but eventually Britishers saw this and Mir Jafar was overthrowed from his post for Mir Qasim. Further Qasim also started to ignore Britishers and fought a war against them called The Battle Of Buxar with aligned forces of Qasim and then state Awadh aginst the British which they lost and the British took the full power of Bengal.

My great grandmother was an Anglo Indian, her family moved to India in the 1730 to a trading fort in the south east of India and they married Tamil women until British and Irish women were brought over to marry. They were loyal to the British but were disliked by them. After India’s independence she and her sister came to the UK as they hade British husbands. while the rest of her siblings stayed in India or moved to New Zealand. They were hated by the British for being part Indian and hated by the Indians for being part British.

If we ignore the timeline of post-colonization, India was at its poorest phase during the Mughal era. Its wealth started to decline slowly since the start of this millennium, especially because of Islamic invaders. Then the Brits came and shot up India's decline.

many bots will say that there is no india before british. BUT India has been acknowledged by the Greeks, Romans, and Chinese since ancient times. Although the Republic of India was established after British rule, the notion of Indian identity as a regional concept dates back to antiquity. Every major civilization recognized India as a culturally significant region, much like China and Persia. If India did not exist before the 1940s, then neither did China before the early 1900s, nor did (Persia)or (Greece before their independence from the Ottoman Empire). The Chinese referred to India as Yindu or Tainzhu, while Persian and Arabian Turks called it Hindustan, Al Hind, or Hindisten, and its people Hindus. The Greeks first recognized India as "India" around 340 BC, when a Greek ambassador to the Mauryan Empire documented various aspects of Indian geography and society. The concept of India in Buddhism and Hinduism has existed since ancient times, with the original names given by Indians to their region being Bharat, Bharatvarsh, or Jambudvipa. In even earlier times, northern India was known as Aryavarta. When we discuss India historically, we are not referring to any specific country or empire, but rather to the broader region we call home.

Hey Omar, I like the video but there is actually a lot more stuff that I believe should have been added as Battle of Plassey and Battle of Buxar only ensured control over northern and north eastern parts of India (though they were the richest ones). Events like the Anglo Maratha wars (another betrayal story) should be mentioned as the Maratha Empire controlled the majority of India in the 18th century. Anglo Mysore war gave South India to the British. Anglo Sikh wars gave north western parts to the British. And last but not the least, debt ridden Indian kings losing territories to the British. Well anyways keep up the good work!

0:45 It is proven that during the Mughal rule, our GDP decreased ALOT. It was due to many reasons, the one i can remember is that the emperors gifted the revenue collected in India to muslim countries in the middle east. Not only that they TORTURED Hindus. Destroying our temples and looting them, they killed many people too. They applied a tax named "Jaziya", which was basically a tax payed by Non-Muslims for pilgrimage.

One Big mistake in this Story. Actually Mughal Empire lost control on India in 1710 and Maratha Kingdom took control of India and Mughal empire just used to pay tax to Mughal empire. Then Panipat battle 3 happened with Maratha kingdom and the Durrani Empire backed by Mughal empire. This panipat battle caused severe damage and became independent states and there was no central power controlling entire India. So this gave British more advantage. But what you told is wrong 😑 that Aurangazeb sons fought each other. Even Mughal empire is also a foreign entity for India who settled from Turkey.
@shobikps689Күн бұрын
People reading this. Even the Mughals were invaders. And please don't misunderstand, the Mughals were also very brutal. They invaded and took the individual rich Indian kingdoms, destroying the local culture and temples, forceful conversion and so on. Just like all the invaders. Just a bit lesse than British. Akbar was a brutal king (Nothing as noble as the video describes). The porteguese, the spanish, the mugals, the british....the country was invaded over 200 times by foreign rulers to steal India's riches. And all these are culminations of today's problems the country faces.

People attribute india's overpopulation problem to all sorts of things. But you need to understand, india has one of the most fertile land combined with a prime location. Both south and north of india were trade giants. The whole europe and india had similar population but europeans migrated and indians stayed at the same place. And then all the bad stuff happened, like invasions and slavery. Indians Themselves can't comprehend how diversified their culture was. For example, religion, india is called land of spirituality because people had enough time to think about such things because they had wealth back then. You must have heard about 33 crore god saying, that's untrue but definitely there are 100+ popularized ways to achieve enlightenment. Yoga, sadhna, bhakti, tantra, shaivism, Buddhism, jainism and many more. 400 years ago also, india was at it's decline. I don't blame anyone for India's demise because well, all good things must come to an end, i hope india and all other parts of world become prosperous and focus on preservation of spirituality. ❤❤❤
@Akd6869Күн бұрын
Basically via instigating and scavenging. Indian kingdoms destroyed each other by fighting amingst themselves and got scavenged by europeans
