Biggest thing to remember while riding a bike is to try and keep your eyes and head level with horizon. Your balance and your bodies reference to where it is in space comes from your ear drums (sort of). When you tip your head over while turning a corner, it’s harder for your body to sense what is happening and slow to react if you are going to tip over or slide out. Try to either maintain speed or accelerate around corner and look ahead to a point you want to go and accelerate toward it and it will help pull you through the corner. It’s real noticeable on street bike.

Everyone should learn how to ride offroad before ever attempting to ride on the road. I logged several weeks offroad before I got a learner's permit for the street. When I took the practical test I aced it. Perfect score. I watched a guy on a small (350 cc) street bike fail the test on his first pass through the course. I felt sorry for him. In my opinion every rider needs to learn offroad. It makes a big difference. Vaughn

I really enjoyed today's show Noraly. My first bike was a dual sport Kawasaki 175 cc 2 stroke. I bought it new in 1971. I just loved that bike. I did a lot of trail riding with it and once a few of us set up a motocross track on a dairy farm. It's amazing how much easier smaller bikes can maneuver than larger bikes. One friend had a 125 Yamaha and another had a 70 Honda. I was faster in the straight away, but the smaller bikes would pass me in the curves. Great fun. Thank you for taking me back to my youth. Take care. Vaughn

Nothing like a mud spattered ear to ear grin at the end of a day of churning up dirt. :D What a wonderful video - not just the experience itself, but the freaking awesome filming of it. And now I'll be catching young Jayson's videos as well. And because I'm not a biker, seeing this video has given me my first appreciation of what I'm seeing when I watch motocross. At least I understand the laws of momentum and balance in principle, but now I can appreciate the learning process of "encouraging" the motorcycle to apply them.

You did very well for your first time out. I started Motocross when I was 14, and continued until I was 26. I suffered a badly broken left leg at the end and decided that it was a sport that was better left for the younger guys who could heal faster than I could at that age. I raced for several teams over the years. In my final year I placed 3rd overall in the Unlimited Class, not bad for a 26 yr old. It's fun, exciting, teaches you a lot about bike control, and what you learn on the track will serve you well in your road travels and help keep you safe..
