Moving was harder and more emotional than I expected. It felt like everything went wrong but I learned some pretty powerful lessons and worked through a lot along the way. Just taking it day by day and slowly but surely, starting to feel my sparkle come back.

I feel your pain Phoebe, in 2012 we lost our business, our home and nearly our Marriage with 2 little kids. I was 39 and broke with a $28,000 business credit card debt and no home but I won a job on Thursday Island and we moved there from a leafy Brisbane suburb and that was a culture shock. My wife got a job and we donated all of our old cosmetics to charity and reduced our tax while we saved like crazy. 3 years later we bought a block of land on the SunnyCoast where we now live. I’m looking as semi-retirement in 5-6 years. Moving was a huge growth period for us and showed us that anything was possible if we put our mind to it! Your young, talented and capable. Remember- what doesn’t kill ya makes ya stronger! You got this!!

As time goes by it will get easier. The things that you think matter now will be a distant memory. Just keep moving forward, trying things that are new, and believing that you are strong. I was devastated when I got divorced. It was like my life was a movie set and everything was being torn down. However, life has slowly revealed that it is what needed to happen to move onto the next phase of my life. I found you while researching Bali. Thank you.

Heh. Valentines day in a Mackay motel with cats. 😂 Heaven. Believe me life will just get so much better. I felt your pain in the video leaving your home. In 2019 I left my place in Melbourne and all my stuff. My life was packed in my small car, I'd been without a job for a year while renovating, the company I'd worked for closed. It was hell. So was the year job hunting in Sydney to no avail. But I went from living in a spare room in Wollongong to several years later being in the best place of my life. You just have to keep on pushing strong. Things will work out. I'd never change anything about what's happened in my life. And all those painful moments always result in such joy. I hope you enjoy Cairns - it'll for sure be where I retire one day - paradise. Btw I've spent the last 15 years single on valentines. Lol. You become accustomed to watching Breakfast at Tiffany's while stuffing your face with Whittaker's chocolates - even if you're a guy. 😂😅

It is a long drive, but the far north Queensland area is also great. Hope you’ll find peace and a surrounding to get life back on tracks! Stay strong and step-by-step. In the end all will be good. Here’s the thing Phoebe…I love seeing it all - the beautiful meals and scenery, the room tours, but I also love seeing the real…it’s the real stuff that makes the rest of us feel like we are not alone in the messiness that is life. I agree with you about the coffee - I just can’t do Maccas coffee or anything that resemble it…I am an absolute coffee snob and so much that I had my friend bring me back Merlo from my favourite coffee shop in Australia back to England. yay, you made it :) I'm originally from Brisbane, but lived up in the Gympie region (by the water....and midges!) for 4 years before selling up last year and moving an hour north of Mackay. The drive from Bundaberg to Mackay is rough! I can't imagine driving the bit between Rocky and Carmila on my own...it was creepy as hell and there were two of us (plus just the one cat....who also would periodically decide to just meow over and over and OVER until my nerves were about shot! lol).....but that drive hey, just nothing for over 2 hours...and the truck rest areas leave much to be desired on that stretch too! So proud of you driving it on your own, you did so well :) The background of your new home looks amazing :) :) I hope it's turning out so far to be just what you need at this time in your life :) We're on an 18 acre rainforest block, still in a tent (plus a semi-livable shipping container) in a small clearing surrounded by the bush....it's wonderful, and feeding my soul in ways I didn't know I needed! Not without it's struggles of course....like our little snakey friend that I 'met' when I got up to go to the loo at 8am this morning......still can't decide if he was a harmless tree snake or a taipan. I'm excited to watch your adventure from here. You're very strong Phoebe, you've got this!

So brave of you to share your journey with us, Phoebe, and all that it entails. Leaving a home and a relationship behind is one of the most challenging things in the world, especially if you thought this person and the notion of your life with them was your 'forever'. I don't know any specifics, but just from watching your channel and videos with Matt, it seems like you are both ah-mazing people in your own right, and both have a positive attitude towards life. However, you were both individuals before becoming a couple, and sometimes we can forget about our individual goals and dreams when we merge our lives with another. There is a whole world out there, and it's truly sad that sometimes relationships become so all- consuming that we forget about the world and even ourselves and just focus on then 😢 Of course, I'm partly speaking from my own personal experiences, I've been a classic people pleaser my whole life. But I'm turning 30 soon, and I feel an inwards shift in my world, and a deep longing to focus solely on myself for a while. Please, be kind to yourself in this next phase of your life. Enjoy the good moments, for there will be heaps, and look forward to those, but also don't blame yourself or ever feel bad for those crappy days either. Life is naturally going to be a bit of a roller-coaster for for a period of time, but if there's anything I know about strong women like you and me, is that we can survive it. And we can thrive in our life thereafter. Sending prayers 🙏 Take care Phoebe 😇😇

* “Do I look better?” Yes, yes you do. You made it through a most difficult time. And found yourself. * “Sometimes things aren’t avoidable and you just have to let this destruction happen … and allow for the new thing to flood in.” It hurts, yes, but even in your pain, you see the coming new day. You see the good in life-never lose that, Phoebe. * I love my cats, but all those days of them crying woulda driven me insane. (Might have needed the tranqs personally! 😂) Deep admiration for that! * Perfect decision to find a moment to ground yourself. When I have a bad day on my travels in Florida, I’m lucky enough to do exactly what you did-find a beach. There’s something magical about a beach. Listening to you in that moment felt like listening to myself. This time, I felt “seen”. Reassuring to know someone else gets that. “A bigger plan is at play and everything is gonna work out and there is so much beauty in the world.” I’m keeping those words with me and remembering them when next I have my beach moment. Thank you. * “Gooooooood morning you guys!” 🥹 Missed hearing that! “When we fail, when we get it wrong, we dust ourselves off, we pick ourselves up, and we get back out there for a Redemption Day!” Even when a Redemption Day challenges you, you meet it and won’t let it beat you. Move on to Redemption Day II; it’ll get better! (And it looks like it has gotten better) * You have amazing and supportive parents. They seem to have been there every time you’ve needed them these past months. * I woulda collapsed running into the rained out road-wow. * Oh, if only we could snap our fingers and get to the good parts. But then we wouldn’t grow and become better versions of ourselves. * And, yes, the anxiety of the new life makes perfect sense. Been through it, too. The stress of the unknown can overwhelm. Trust yourself to make the right decisions and that you’ll fix any missteps. You’ll get there! * Can’t wait to see what is making you smile so big! Click baiting us! Ugh!! 😂 * You know you have thousands of friends all over the world, right? Cheering you on and supporting you on your journey. * Looking forward to sharing in your adventures this year, Phoebe. ❤ You got this.

Wow what a drive! Emotionally and physically challenging for sure but you made it through and seeing you smile with exciting about whatever it is you planned for ‘you’ is a sign that you will smile again at the other side of the this big picture journey. You’ve got this! You are worthy of happiness, you are loved, you are not alone…don’t give up. That’s my mantra (I gave it tattooed on my wrist to remind me when life sucks) after going through divorce….it’s like you watch the book you were reading burn…and having to start a new one….I’m excited to see the chapters unfold for you…and for me. You inspired me to start this channel (my channel). I love your outlook on your learning lessons from your experiences.

That is a long long trip....Furthest I have driven is from Barossa to Coonawarra, but that is only 400 KM, but you really did handle it like a trooper. A bit of trepidation involved, but you still manage to help so many others going through the same. I have been to Cairns and I did find it lovely. Done San Fransico to Houston a few times, but I did not have the unknowns you did! Hope you are settled in a bit now and happy that you like it. I think sharing the spiritual journey you are in is a great addition. Hang in there and who knows, it would be be nice if you make back to Bali around this year....I will be there in July and I will buy you and your friends a coffee. 🙏😃

Hi, Phoebe, Harriet and I have been with you for a very long time, almost from the beginning . We feel like you are a part of our family. You are riding a rollercoaster of emotions both physical and mental to a point of feeling numb. Harriet and i had relationships prior to our getting married that had similar emotions. Remember, to be good to yourself. Reach out to the community. We are there to help. You don't have to hold all that hurt you feel inside . I'm sure your mom felt those same emotions when she divorced your dad. Time is your healer. You will get to the other side of it. As human beings we are fragile, we need each other. Your future is so in front of you. Don't look back. Love you dearly, ❤❤❤ Harriet, Jim and Yuki Richmond, Va.

Love how organic you are keep it real you are amazing. Don't try and be something you aren't Phoebe just try and be or find who you are ;). Take your time. Tell yourself 'you are enough' because you are :). Morning and night routine wherever you are👌. Write down 10 things you are thankful for everyday. Know need to say sorry phoebe. These things need to take place sometimes it's just a way of healing. Things happen for a reason Im a big believer in this...its important to 'feel' these things like you say and connect with it. Your new life is just beginning but take the time to heal ✨️. Don't be who you are told to be or how people want you to be...be you. Ps you should watch the film- Free Guy :)

Hello, Phobe, You are so a brave girl. I have been through the same thing a few years ago. I came from Brisbane to Cairns in 2021 with my cat screaming. You are not alone. I can tell you one thing you will be more than fine, stronger and independently organizing everything soon. It's based on my experience even though I have a physical disability, I came from overseas, which is a more disadvantaged situation than you are in. If you need any help or social support, you could reach out to reply 🥰🥰

I’ve watched your videos here and there when trying to prepare for Australia, I’m Canadian. Thank you for sharing all your experiences, with that said I’m sorry you’re going through “it” right now. I was just in Brisbane (from Canada) to try and start a life and mend things with someone I loved there back in December 2022 which was my second time being there within the year. Well… it didn’t work out and I got my heart broken. I had to leave on February 12 2023. The following day was her birthday and then Valentine’s Day was the day after that where I too had to crash at my parents back in Ontario. Doing a long trek all alone and having all this other stuff going on, we’ll, it hurts and it’s very difficult to navigate. Not many people would understand this and I just wanted to share I sympathize immensely.

You are brave and strong. Life must go on for better and prosperous way. Time certainly heals your sadness facing you now, finally you will overcome it. The sun always rises every morning.(meaning that you have many new opportunities in the future). You had decided the right thing that you came back to your family who truly love you and you are among the pleasant environment including your beloved pets. I ‘d like you doing meditation during this period of time to keep your mind calm down (in peaceful way). The grief will subside gradually when time passes by,and you will be finally fine. There are millions of people in the world who are more difficult than us. We are still fortunate to be able to get through bad times while they still face it every day. We are still fortunate to have a family, a home, a dog, a cat, good health and most importantly, life and hope. Suffering and happiness happen to us every day and leave our lives every day. You're young, there's a lot going on in the rest of your life. And of course there are many disappointments ahead of you. But now you know that you can go through anything like before, no matter how hard it is. May God bless you, giving you the encouragement, the strength and the wisdom to be ready to face anything and get through it all.
