This is one of those jams that I heard only a few times when it came out and then it disappeared from my world. I didn't know it's title or the artist but it stuck with me for like 30 years even though I never heard it again. In Los Angeles about October of 1982 they played it on KISS FM and KUTE 102. After a month I never heard it again. I was 19 with my first girlfriend Donna in my 1973 Capri. Good times man

The commenter seemed legit and unlikely to misinform or make a mistake like that, but I didn't know for sure, curious to see if my hunch was correct, I looked in to it and found this. KIIS-FM (102.7 MHz) is a commercial radio station licensed to Los Angeles, California, United States, and broadcasts to the Greater Los Angeles area.

Wow this song was the bomb back in fall of 1982. Love this so much. WBLS and 92KTU played this. I worked in Fayva shoe store on Broadway near 79th Street in Manhattan at the time. We played this loud. That store doesn't even exist anymore.

This is the u.s. remix that was included on the mindfield 12'" released in the spring of 1983 The original version which you are referring to was released in the us in late summer of 1982 as an import and was shorter in length without the added synth work and included the dubbed intro. The 12" to that release also included a instrumental of Give Me Titled 3AM on the B. Side.
