Agreed! Sometimes I go back and listen to old pop songs I used to listen to as a kid and I can't believe I actually liked that kind of music at one point. It all sounds terrible to me now. 😅 I liked rock music too, but it wasn't until I was about 11 that I really started getting into rock and metal. I still enjoy some 80s pop though.

After that, basically just check out any action movie soundtrack between 1998 and 2003 and you'll get a neat little grab bag of a bunch of short-lived bands with a couple of really solid tracks.

That is relative pitch. After some years of playing and listening music, yo can remember the notes with references, like you know the difference between a car and a truck by their sounds, because you listened to it for years. And of course you can do ear training.

Yeah I think they count but the sad thing is that „Beggin“ is a Cover-song they did years ago when they won Italys Got Talent. For some reason though it seems like Americans enjoy it more than their actually good and original Rocksongs in Italian such as „Zitti e Buoni“. So I‘m not surprised that this song made the cut but it still doesn‘t mean anything to the Rockworld. It‘s just cause it went viral on TickTock for a while. The people listening to this are likely not even listening to Zitti e Buoni.

Lyrically speaking, the 90s was by far the best era, but I tend to listen to the early 2000s era the most simply because I'm intrigued by how creative the producers got with their beats. Just listen to the early stuff by DJ Blass (Reggaeton Sex vol 2 and 3), yeah the lyrics are silly, but those beats man, nothing has sounded like that ever since. Plan B's first album, "El Mundo De Plan B", also has some godly beats.

Måneskin is definitely rock and sometimes even bordering to hard rock and metal. They won the Eurovision Song Contest last year. Nowhere one of the best Rock bands ever, but still pretty decent. If you are into something like The White Stripes then those might be something for you.

I actually don't mind most of the songs on the top 100. Of course the reggaeton or trap songs (Very popular here in South America) become really repetitive over time but artists like The Weeknd or Dua Lipa are extremely talented. Rock is not gonna be mainstream for some time but I don't see the problem of liking other genres outside rock/metal. Great video Steve!! Greetings from Argentina

I actually really like what Måneskin is doing, as a metal singer/listener I usually like heavier stuff but it’s refreshing to hear new rock bands come out and actually sound good. Greta Van Fleet was (and still is) one of those bands.

GVF are awesome, but has two quite big flaws. Drummer is not technical enough, and Josh needs to stop using his ugly kind of vocal distortion (the ugly screams) that he often is using. He could learn to use some other distortion technique or just avoid going into screaming. I can't stand it lol
