A lot of people say this album it’s about Kanye and all the drama but I actually think it’s one of her most lovely albums cause it tells the story of how she and her boyfriend met, this is why it starts like in a badass mood but then it ends with Taylor in love cause that was how that last year went for her

Loved how you picked up on her use of colors as metaphors in her writing. This is something she has always done and still does to this day. She even has an album called Red lol. If you pay attention there are definitely patterns to the way she uses them. Blue, red, and golden are probably her most used colors.

Dancing with our hands tied will forever be my favorite song from reputation. it's just so sad. she wrote it crying in her studio after she was catched by the paparazzi for the first time after a year. And the photographs were calling her fat (she had gained a heathy amount of weight after recovering from eating disorder) and she wrote this song about trying to hide her relationship with her boyfriend from the world and how it's immposible because her life is basically a wish bowl. Everyone sees it.

If you love Gatsby theres some lyrics that reference Gatsby on a track from her latest album Evermore called "Tolerate It" !!! Its a really good, descriptive, sad/emotional (track 5, famous for being the saddest on her album)song that was inspired by Rebecca by Daphne De Maurier but has some references like a green light!!!! New Years Day. Great song. Great ended. Reputation yes is about her comeback after the media attacked her, she was cancelled, etc. but, really this album is about her meeting Joe, starting to date him at the worst time in her life, when she had hit rock bottom. And beginning to fall in love, that beginning wonderful phase of dating someone you know feels different than the other guys. Reputation tells the story of that courtship. New Years Day tells us that after that journey.. she is now in love. She met someone she wants to clean up with after a party. And that she is so much in love that she just hopes that someday this person won’t become a stranger like other people in her life. Reputation tells the journey and New Years Day ends the journey at with her finding the one. Gatsby obsession? You and Taylor both, her songs are RIDDLED with Gatsby references. She’s a literary encyclopedia.
