I think what's been rubbing people the wrong way with all the sponsored content is that the sponsored portions are through out the ENTIRE video and the whole video idea was just for the sake of the sponsorship instead of just a minute at the beginning or end and then we get a normal Sierra video the rest of the time. Might want to reconsider how you integrate sponsorships ❤️
@earthstar75344 жыл бұрын
Ehhhh, I was more rubbed by how wildly out of touch this is considering a majority of people in America have entire living situations smaller than her closet. This should have been titled "being a regular person on a Friday who can't afford to go out." Because thats basically what it was lol. The bigger Sierra gets the more out of touch with reality she gets. I feel like a lot of influencers stop understanding that their lived experience isn't necessarily reality and end up accidentally doing poverty cosplay.

@@aimeeschmitz4143 i wasn't unkind, I'm realistic. Acknowledging someone is out of touch with reality isn't unkind its just a fact. Her last few videos have been.... off, the pinterest one was boarding on hostile when she created the situation she complained about and this one is out of touch and basically disrespectful to the majority of the country who are struggling with massive financial insecurity issues. It's not unkind to give criticism. It is unkind to act like this was appropriate or a good idea considering her CLOSET is bigger than the majority of her viewers homes when the majority of the country is facing mass financial insecurity. Your sponsored content is getting a little too on the nose. When we can tell you come up with videos purely to shout out a brand, it feels so disingenuous. Like the disney bounding fabletics video. This is the first video of Sierras in which I felt she lost her relatability due to success. Don’t get me wrong I know youtubers need to make money and that sponsorships are a large part of how they do that. But with all of the help and involvement from Stephen on top of how much of this video felt like an ad for the switch I just lost a lot of what I come to Sierra for as opposed to other large KZbinrs for whom most of their vids have this vibe. THAT BEING SAID she did note that this was a bonus video apart from her regular Friday upload schedule; it seems like she’s made that her way of doing heavily sponsored content without allowing it to take over her channel. This, in my opinion, is a fantastic approach that I wish more people would understand.

What I would recommend, and it still might not make it a “challenge”, is to prep before you go in. So, 24 hrs in the office or something- get a mini fridge and stock it with what you want, snacks, drinks, etc, and get your bedding and stuff already lined up. Also, maybe stock up on books and magazines you want to read, also maybe toss in some scrapbooking stuff to do, that way you can “unplug” and not be bored to death. think it’s so cute and fun that you have Stephen help you with things, but there are lots of comments that think having him do stuff is cheating. I personally don’t have a problem with it, but I’m 31 years old with three kids, convenience and comfort is key for me these days. ;)

I love all of your videos and know how much you care about being kind & giving back to the community so I think that these types of videos would be a great opportunity for you to work in facts/statistics and raise awareness about homelessness. Like maybe even do a live benefit/fundraising event where you spend 24 hours in a part of your home and raise money for a good cause - like the Trevor Project or other organizations which may give support to displaced youth/teens at risk. Love you as always

Plenty of haters here but I wanted to congratulate you on the sponsorship. Literally nothing could be more of a fit for you. I am beaming with you queen 👑 😊

Literally the only person that I've watched do a "24 hours in..." challenge, that thought to bring everything they'd need in 24hrs. Including a cooler full of foods and someone to bring them things.

You could totally make a drinking game out of how many time she says"Animal Crossing: New Horizons." Ha!

As much as I love ur content. This isn’t much of a hardship if u have a husband to retrieve u everything u need that isn’t in the closet with u, as well as a husband to keep u company. I live in a pokey 1 bed, 1 living room, 1 bath, 1 kitchen flat (apartment) on my own. Have u ever tried solitary confinement for 24 hrs? That’s my life? No shade, love u and ur wee family. I binge watch u and Carrie Dayton (amongst a couple of others) every wknd. Love u muchly!

Your island is so cute already! Just a tip… I’m pretty sure that flowers will not grow on sand. You have to plant them in the grass! 💜

Okay you missed an opportunity... you were in your closet for 24hours, I was totally expecting you to actually do something with your clothes/closet lol a try on/purge, organization, upgrade etc. I was not expecting a totally obvious ad sponsorship that had literally nothing to do with your closet! And I agree with everyone else that having your husband bring you everything defeats the challenge aspect.

Sierra! Flowers don’t grow on the beach so you won’t be able to breed any that way. If you move them onto the grass make sure to fence around each little species area to avoid them from over breeding. Trust me, the flowers get CRAZY. Lol I have spent many hours just individually digging them up and moving them to new places because they get out of control with just one surprise day of rain. 🌼🌸🌺🌷🌹🌻

I love that you actually do 24 hours. I hate when they say "doing blah for 24 hours" when they only do a few hours. You're awesome! 😀
