Fun video but the routine seemed exhausting! Probably for someone who didn't need to watch the money ( don't think that was the case) or he made hay while the sun shone. His opera, The Marriage of Figaro is chock full of great tunes and was possibly one of the most radical pieces of music ever created.

Mozart got into a lot of trouble for the social criticism of his operas. We enjoy them now as classics but back then they ruffled a lot of privileged feathers.

In London Cockney rhyming slang, saying to someone "I'm a bit Mozart tonight" means that you're telling them you're feeling a bit drunk. Viz. "Mozart and Liszt" = "pissed" / drunk 🙄

This is great!!!! Ha! One thing though: Mozart was buried in an unmarked mass grave and had money problems his whole life! You're probably closer to his "means" than you'd imagine!! I just rewatched "Amadeus" the other day, I can't believe you just happen to be doing Mozart! You've inspired me for tomorrow in at least one way: I'm going to schedule two hours to do mixing tomorrow! No more excuses!!! Thanks, Miss C! PS: If you haven't seen "Amadeus", that's one of the great movies about music and musicians. Some of it is very fictionalized but it doesn't matter, it's a great entranceway into his music and his life and classical music in general. I know you don't do movie reactions but I'd love to know your opinions of that movie. Some of the dialog in that movie is some of the best ever written about music, beautifully written and beautifully acted by F. Murray Abraham who plays his musical rival Salieri. PS: Is that a bit of your piece during the end credits? PSS: The magpies fighting was wild! Never heard such a thing!

I love this whole project. And this video. And I love all your stuff. But... You know what I *really* love? That green trench coat. Very snappy. Also? I know how hard it can be/feel to interact with other human beings, so truly, bravo for that! And also also? I'm shocked that was your first classical concert! Given your musical expertise, sensitivity, intuition, etc., I'd always just assumed you were classically trained/immersed. That's super interesting to me and leaves me wondering about your sort of musical training and bedrock. I'd be keen on hearing about that if you're inclined to share. (Maybe a video one day? :) Either way, thanks as usual for all you do, Caroline!

This is such a great idea, to try a day as Mozart once did! I see he was very disciplined and organized his time precisely. So nice to learn about that through you! I'll always remember the performance on harpsichord I went to in Mozart's residence in Salzburg, Austria. When I told a man I was American he started shouting at me saying our bombs during WWII had destroyed so much of Salzburg. The beautiful cathedral I went to there for an organ concert where I saw photos of it destroyed and after the major restoration. You rise above war and bring happiness to the world! Thanks for this great experience!

I think that the key isn't to emulate this or that successful person's routine so much as to find your own routine that works for you and fits your needs, situation and personality, that is variously as detailed or not and rigid or flexible as works for you. It's good to have something of a routine because time is so precious and you don't want to waste too much of it and that requires discipline, but you also don't want to turn into a robot as that's no fun. It's a matter of balance, I suppose. As for Mozart's music, a piece of his was literally what got me into classical music at an age that most people who don't come from classical music families generally don't get into that sort of music. I was around 13 or 14 and rummaging through some old LPs (vinyl albums) in my parents' house that the previous owner had left behind in the basement, an odd assortment of light jazz, pop, rock, classical and other genres, from the Beatles to Pink Floyd to Mitch Miller to comedy sketches, and randomly picked out and played some of them, especially the ones I wasn't familiar with. Eventually I came upon one that featured Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante, and played it on my parents' stereo, and instantly fell in love. It's a light but beautiful piece, like so much of his music, and a good "test" to see if classical is your thing. So I'd suggest it as one of your first listens. But over time I came to most appreciate his choral music, specifically his operas, especially The Marriage of Figaro (to which Rossini's well-known The Barber of Seville, which everyone is familiar with, is a sort of "prequel"), Don Giovanni and The Magic Flute, and most of all his Requiem, which is sublime and my favorite piece of his. If you've ever seen the movie Amadeus is was what was played at the end. Gorgeous music. Btw, since you have a Polish heritage and play the keyboard, it might be interesting to hear you "react" to Chopin, one of my favorite composers. It's literally impossible to not like his music and be fully human. Alas, like Mozart, he also died young, so maybe you might try to emulate longer-lived composers such as Haydn (surprise!) or Rachmaninoff (greatest piano concertos ever).

Parents make their children practice their instrument for hours while neglecting their children's social life and health at the same. In the same vein many budding "musicians" practice for many hours a day hoping to become famous at the expense of their health and personal relationships (unlike Mozart).
