My grandparents had a houseboat on Kentucky Lake back in the ‘60s when I was a little kid. Used to spend a couple weeks on it every summer. I still think about it. This takes me way back. Enjoy!

I was a houseboat instructor back in the day and you guys had it mostly right with the ropes, you'd probably want to go out at more of a 45 deg angle and tie up a little further on land if possible. But tying up from the back is definitely the right call. Also, it's not bad to give the boat a little throttle once you've beached it. Sometimes we would throttle way up when synching the lines so when you let off, you know they're tight. Since I'm commenting, if you have an older boat, make sure the generator exhaust isn't exiting between the pontoons and has a proper stack. There was a bunch of accidents in the 90s (probably still happening) where people would swim under the boat, then pass out from the carbon monoxide and drown.

Was just up there a few weeks ago with 3 friends at Rainy Lake. For those thinking it maybe to spendy. Split the cost with some friends. Lot's of room and a buddy boat comes with it. Ate so much walleye we were running out of creative recipes. Stuck with the gold old gold standard. 1. Box shore lunch 2. 1/2 Cup Flour 3. Tablespoon of Lawry's Mix and apply to wet fillet. Cook same sized pieces in oil at least 375F (much hotter it will smoke) for 6 -7 minutes. Great video, house boats are a blast.

My great grandfather was an avid fisherman up north and we are lucky enough to have numerous photos of his prize musky catches over the years (5ft+ in size). Definitely a fresh river prize to catch despite their overall “gruesome” appearance, especially with their size. Anyways, glad to see you enjoying yourself again in Ontario!

Oh my God this is been a dream fantasy of mine. When I was younger my friend's dad lived on a houseboat he bought it cheap because the motor didn't work he just left it at the marina and drove a tow truck. Paid like nothing to keep it tied up there and had a little boat like yours to go fishing and come back. Also be careful with eating those MRE's they're notorious for causing serious constipation.

Hey mav I’m one of your silent viewers and I have some advice for the frozen meat just put it in the pan on medium heat and add a little bit of water and add whatever seasonings your gonna use and cover it and let it defrost and cook and mix it or move it while you wait cause it takes a while sometimes I hope this helps. If the meat is ground meat it’s easier to do this but if it’s a whole type meat style that’s frozen I recommend you put it in water and leave it in the packaging and let it defrost like that I hope this helps

Muskie’s are elusive and rare here in PA. Cool to see ya catching them. I was reeling in a small sunfish one time on an ultralight rod, just messing around on a lake at a family picnic. Not fishing serious at all. As I reeled the pan fish in a giant Musky hit the fish. I fought him for 15-20 minutes before he finally broke off. This was at Keystone Lake in New Alexandria, PA.
