Give me a break! She speaks out of two sides of her mouth. Then she claims he's a "protector of women"....OMG, seriously, this is what is wrong with our world right now. People listen to crap and blindly believe rather than using critical thinking skills to realize what an absolute load of crap it is! I see this in almost every episode of this that I watch. If anything in this story is true other than the dead people, it's that they both are psychopaths! He's a serial killer and she's clearly a pathological liar.

I have an uncle that has done things to me, it was revealed in the most horrible ways a few years back to my mum , when she had to come in and face my school principal and a teacher and I had to explain away the acts because I didn’t want to break my family apart.. he’s got kids of his own.. all grown now but I was still confused. I thought I was to blame in some odd way even though I was not promiscuous in any way that time (not that that makes it okay), or i felt it wasn’t that serious because it wasn’t rape. But later I told her the truth about him touching me up behind the kitchen table.. which she was sitting in front of at the time unaware, and in my bedroom.. locking myself in the bathroom to get away from him..the lot. It was a lot for her but.. I’m fortunate she believed me (eventually).. none of this is to be known to anyone really, until my dearest grandma is to pass.. although 1 or 2 know in the family but never more until then.. when that happens she says she doesn’t care who knows and the truth will come out.. although, I’m terrified for that day. I’ve moved on in ways but it still sits over my shoulders. I don’t know how he will react.. or the family. I can only wish anyone who endures this kind of shit finds help and peace within themselves to fight the damage from it and move on with their lives. @@Kenzie_McIntyre oh dearest Colette! Thank you so much for caring enough to take the time and comment and reach out!! - I totally appreciate it. All I can say is, where I come from.. (very rural in Ireland, so most aren’t even accustomed to this type of scenario.. it’s COMPLETELY taboo! To say the least) it’s the type of place where it would almost bring shame on you if you were to open up about such things - especially within my rather large family .. if everybody came to know. I agree with absolutely EVERYTHING you said and yes, it should be my choice. I’m comfortable with this all getting revealed, once my dearest grandmother (nana, as I call her!💗) has passed.. I don’t want her to know ever before, but she is 90 and nearing time.. so if that is to happen.. me and my mother BOTH want to protect her and believe that IF SHE BELIEVES her family is all okay whenever she needs to pass (god forbid) ..but once all has happened then it will all come out eventually - according to my mother. In a way I’m okay with it, also in a way, I don’t want to deal with it. He’s (perp) got his own family.. and having my own now at this age - I would never want to be their annihilation.. if that makes sense. I know that’s on HIM (at least NOW I do) but I don’t want to hurt his family who were innocent in all of this. So it’s a bit much. There is far more to my scenario (not regarding my so called ‘abuser’ idk if I can actually call him that since I wasn’t raped but definitely violated.. I don’t feel I have a right to complain.. so many more people have had it worse…but none the less, I have so much more facing me and it’s causing my mental health to deteriorate. I’m so sorry I’m blabbing this to you, but I simply have no friends I can talk to about my current situation, and it’s taking a toll - so much that alcohol is my only comfort right now.. and no I KNOW it’s not healthy. I do plan to change that, I want better…But I’m so isolated. This is why I’m unloading here. I’m sorry if this is too much of a reply, but I just want to thank you for caring enough to reply. I can't believe no one stepped up to intervene for those children. And what kind of mother let's this happen? The justice system failed Maureen when she pressed charges against that pos. The mother who feels that she deserve it, the mother who has a low self esteem and know she's helpless or maybe that she would be dead if she did something for her kids. Not all women are brave enough to stand for herself or her kids. Some women feel brave when they endure the pain and try to survive the abuse. We are in no place to jugde her. As for Richard it's not exuse but it's is the main reason. Yeah I was abused physically, emotionally and verbally but not to this extint. I do have sadistic tendencies which for now is under control, but i'm sure if i was abused to the degree these kids were abused I would turned worse than him. We are all different in our own unique way. we deal with our shit differently. So don't come here and say that it's not an excuse which I'm sure isn't but in fact the main reason for what he did.

Maureen is brave indeed and thanks to her his serial killer brother is forever in prison. But there's no empathy for him at all on my part. The plea deal was made before they could identify his first known victim, that the retired prosecutor describes here as a matter of fact as a "working prostitute". She wasn't a prostitute. She was a young mother of two, abandoned by her husband, who had to move to be able to study cosmetology. This serial killer offered her a ride and she naively accepted. She even talked to him about her life. He remembered. He kidnapped her, raped her and murdered her. Her children where safe with her grandmother while she took the opportunity to take this class to be able to provide for her children by herself and to have a better life. He may have been a victim when he was a child. But he wasn't a child anymore. Most abuse survivors doesn't become serial killers.

And I have to say OK Elliot Rodger was actually getting therapy BUT because his parents were paying for that privately I think the therapists were too scared of offending their clients to give their son any diagnosis and that's a problem when the therapists can't get government funding and are only taking private clients. It's ridiculous that Elliot Rodger was never diagnosed he clearly had at least two or three different conditions. I think three.

That last little bit about roots and moving around. I felt that. I've never been still my whole life. My father was like John and my mother was gone since I was 3 days old. It was rumored about my father ending people and I believe it 100%. He never got caught but I believe he encountered the same fate. Good for him! It was a small town cover up that I'm ok with. The quicker and quieter that man was put out of this world, the better. I hope he burns hot and hard from now to eternity. I'm 43 and this is the longest I've been still. I'm looking for a place to belong. Though I'm thriving in my current environment, I feel there's more for me. One thing I have discovered is that nobody really wants to hear about your struggles and hardships. So I don't talk about them much anymore. I've healed but am still scarred. I'm moving forward. I'm ok for the first time in my life. Even with a marred past of bad decisions due to not being prepared for life due to a poor upbringing I'm quickly moving forward and I'm MAKING IT!!! By God, I'm making it! I'm not a victim, I'm a survivor.

He probably was so supressed that he watched his step father over power him and he hated it. But moreso he probably really hated his mother for not being able to stand up enough to get him and his sisters out of the hellhole life. Looks like he targeted women to prove to himself that he could do what his stepfather does but better (more powerful/sense of power). Looks like he had so much hate for his mother for allowing a random man to come into their lives and ruin their childhood to the point where they have nothing to eat and to have to live under a bridge. His hatred for his mother choosing a random man instead of her own children and endangering them is immense. He has so much hatred for women.

My mom was an abusive alcoholic, the church gave us a Xmas after finding out we dumpster diver day after Xmas for the thrown out toys, got food from the same places and my mom was more abusive than her dudes. But when she couldn't control the boys, she would send them off to dad. One, she tried to use against me, because he was my little brother and I felt protective of him, but I took the belt out of her hand and started hitting her, asking how she liked it, so she sent him off. I was left alone to take all the abuse because she held on to me like a bargaining chip against my dad. I have a scar on my forehead from the day she overheard me on the phone with my dad, trying to set up living with him. She hit me with her engagement rings (yes two, on the same finger, not a band and a ring, but two actual stoned wedding rings, turned around into her palm) and locked me out of the house...
