On the last turn, bloodgift demon is target player draws a card and looses 1 life, so if he targets max he won't die.... this is assuming he would live a turn after that and be able to remove the kirin XD

Instead of Nick Swinging all out at max and making him go to a pointless -24, he shouldve also killed Em Jae and brought max to under lethal. Killing Em Jae gets the Repercussions off the table and leaves Nick with blockers for both Andrew and Max. If anything, they shouldve killed Em Jae as soon as she played that Repercussions.

Not sure how much of a difference it would make but Bloodgift Demon's effect "At the beginning of your upkeep, target player draws a card and loses 1 life." Sure Max would draw a card but you have a 1 turn window for removing the Kirin if he had in hand.

So I understand the Jodah deck is a background deck and that is the game plan. But why run cultist of absolution? It seems more like a curse than a benefit. Sac a creature every turn is pretty rough, at least in that deck. If the commander makes a bunch of tokens or wants a consistent sac effect I could see using it but there are lots of things that do that without the downside.

I agree with this. You forget the sacrifice as well and it’s not like you are making a ton of tokens where it’s not a problem.

It's still in the testing phase. I'm currently thinking of swapping it for Helm of Kaldra. I find I really need evasion with Jodah because people in my meta often times can block him for days otherwise.

That would be a decent swap, I don’t know what else is in the deck, I’m assuming all the other backgrounds. But I’d also consider shadowspear or the reaver cleaver. Both legendary with trample and decent upsides. Looking through the legendary artifacts Jodah makes a pretty interesting voltron deck.

Megatron is a creature on its controller's turn regardless of which side it's on.

@@carldooley9344 when megaton is converted “players can not cast spells during combat” I believe this is what he was referring to. Because the combat phase initiated and megaton was converted he would have had to cast the colossal sky turtle BEFORE megaton converted

@@TheInsaneAsylum21 he could do so at either stage. channel is an ability, not a cast trigger. I will note though that the damage would have been 11 to em-jay, not 7. The aspiring champion took seven from the meteor golem, but he also took 4 from Megatron's ability.

Would Em Jay be able to hit Megatron with Drach'Nyen at 11:06? Technically, because they are still in there living metal form, they are only a creature during the controller's turn.

They didn't transform megatron during their postcombat that turn so it was still on the Tryrant/Artifact Creature side.

Am I getting something wrong with Megatron? Isn't only the excess damage dealt to the controller and not the total damage?

I think so. it says "If excess damage would be dealt to that creature this way, instead that damage is dealt to that creature's controller and you convert Megatron." so if you sacc something with value 6 and target a creature with 4 toughness, 2 damage goes to the controller of the creature.

That is incorrect, when the abilities go to resolve the legend rule has already happened, so he only has one demon on the feild at the time of both Be'lakor ability resolution

Recently cracked a Shattered Glass Megatron (non foil :( ) and as I had been looking for a Mardu commander I decided to try him out and ....Gahd Dayumn is it a beating. Consistenly has 12-15 mana on turn 4 or 5 and just snowballs from there. Excellent video!

Jodah dragons. Turn 1 sol ring into dimir signet. Turn 2 play land and tap for dimir signet mana for arcane signet. Tap sol ring for grul signet. Turn 3 play land and play two more signets. Turn 4 i win with Primal Vigor.

I like how, ostensibly, UB and the *fucking* Transformers are to "introduce new players to Magic" but I, a player on and off since 1995 and a fairly well versed rules lawyer type, had to read both sides of Megatron *three times* before I completely understood the card.
